also regarding junji's hair in angel (and later comebacks) people definitely took notice, it's a very unique hairstyle but he speaks of it fondly hhh it was a good way to make the group very easily recognisable for the general public xD i personally like it, in an industry dominated by the same bowl cut it's nice to see something different and junji's hair is always different hhh

yeah a key factor of OnlyOneOf’s sound is their vocal blend. They have quite distinctive voices and they know how to use them to push the group identity forward. 52:39 is a visual from dOra maar (the title track you missed), it was a song they released in between sage and angel that only has an audio visualizer and choreography video on their channel, which I highlight recommend. They did promote the song though and it’s their signature sound. Beatrice refers to them seeing the angel as Beatrice from Dante’s divine comedy. Beatrice was a symbolic and divine person Dante only met twice, who represents religious knowledge and passion. he mostly projected his desires onto her and she steered him away from “sin” If you want to understand more of what their work is about I recommend reading the descriptions under their music videos and official audio videos in the case of dOra maar. It usually lists some storytelling context, and philosophical and literary references and ooo’s intentions!

i guess one thing: onlyoneof aren't exactly known to sound very "kpop", they're called onlyoneof for a reason after all, so don't expect too much more of that hhh their signature genre is called art pop, the song dOra maar is gonna give you a very good idea of what they mean by that ^^

@@marcogennuso definitely! ooo really enjoy storytelling and it's really well done in that song! just as background info: dora maar was an artist as well as the romantic partner and muse of picasso, however they had a toxic and abusive relationship as he saw her more as an object for him to be inspired by than a real person (one of his most famous paintings are the weeping woman series which depict dora maar) and the song is sung from picasso's perspective in this! the choreo also ties into that story telling!

OnlyOneOf is kinda vague when it comes to lore, while their lore can be seen as mini stories or maby a larger connected narrative they tend to explore more taboo topics such as sexuality ,religion, human instinct ,society ,et cetera . There are lots of theories on each song you saw today ,for the most part Savanna seems to be about first love , Sage has themes of forbidden love and salvation after a joueney of delight and hodonism ,and this is just the bare minimum you can get form reading the description under their MVs (strongly recomend you do this especially for their solo songs). As a whole OOO are very unique both musically and lore wise.Thank you for cheking them out ,cant wait to see the rest of your OOO journey!

Sage, LibidO and Chrome arts are my favorite title tracks.

If you go back and rewatch Angel, you'll notice that the angel in this video keeps getting more menacing every time she interacts with our boys. And nobody in the music video makes eye contact with her. You can interpret her as this religious symbol of keeping society in control and also a technocratic controller of our boys' world via social media. Mill tries to escape this reality but the people in the mask take him away. The faceless people can be interpreted as outliers of her world. This symbolism of a technocratic world and angel/religion that controls everyone in this contemporary future can be seen repeatedly in Savana, Sage, and Angel. Their whole discography is one continuing narrative. If you wish, you can delve deep into that with lots of lyric, cinematography, choreography, and performance dissection videos. Its fine either way. Hope you keep falling in love with their art as we lyOns have! 🥰🤗

I'm a huge OOO fan and am so happy you reacted to them. I've been a fan for two years and they're one of my kpop ULTS. I saw them in concert when they came to Puerto Rico this past weekend. I even got to meet them. They're such sweethearts, with such great and open personalities. They're hilarious, too. I really enjoyed your reaction. They're so amazing and talented. Gotta be honest, this is my 1st time watching one of your reactions, as OnlyOneOf brought me here... and let's just say that you didn't disappoint ! Will be looking forward to your upcoming reactions to the rest of OOO's discography ! Will try to comment on some things you brought up in the video, sorry in advance cause it's gonna be hella long x'D 1st of all, your reaction (and especially facial expressions) to "savanna" freakin cracked me up man x'D exactly the reaction you'd expect from someone getting to hear OnlyOneOf's sound for the very 1st time ! "savanna" is the perfect reflection of OOO's music : unexpected, experimental sounding, bearing similarities with k-indie music, full of twists and turns, rich and interesting... and to think this is their debut song ! Totally agree with your thoughts on the quality of their MVs... love the visuals they use in those, i wish they would have used them more for the previous albums... would have been so freakin cool as album covers. Actually, the budget really varies from one MV to another, you'll see it becomes clearer and clearer with more recent MVs. It looks like OOO's company is trying to keep the MVs quite simple and low-budget compared to many other kpop groups, most likely because of lack of financial resources as it's a small company. Personally, i don't consider this as something bad because even if the MVs look simple, they still incorporate really beautiful shots and natural aesthetics that give them a cinematographic aspect (kinda like that rawness you mentionned for "savanna" and "time leap"). Also agree with your comments regarding the vocals of the group. All the members' voices are led to blend together quite harmoniously in the songs. imo, we currently have 4 strong vocalists with quite distinct vocal colours in the group : of course JunJi and Nine (who you've rightfully noticed and praised in that aspect), but also Rie and KB. On the other hand, Mill is more rap-focused, and Yoojung does have a nice singing voice but i find him stronger in the fields of dance and especially stage presence/presentation (he has especially great facial expressions, with his famous eyebrow quirk for instance). Also, to answer one of your questions, Nine isn't the leader of the group, tho he plays an important role in the group as one of its main vocalist but also as one of its lyricists and composers/arrangers (and he's the maknae). You might have already learnt about this since this 1st reaction came out, but Love who left the group was actually the leader of OOO. Since his departure, there is no officially announced leader... but KB who is the oldest member is kinda considered as the leader now. As for what you said about the songs sounding quite consistent, i just wanna respond : "THIS. EXACTLY". Because consistency/coherence is one of the main characteristics of OOO's music. It becomes especially clear once you begin to dive into the albums as a whole : in every specific album, the tracks just flow beautifully and seamlessly one after the other, so satisfying. Each album works perfectly as a whole, coherent ensemble, which makes for great listening party experiences. Which is why i highly recommend you to give a listen to OOO's albums while respecting the original tracklist order, once you're finished with discovering the MVs and main songs. This consistency can actually be explained by the fact that OOO's music is produced by a consistent set of producers (in particular Nap!er and Haeil who have been working with OOO on most of their songs), under the artistic and musical direction of Jaden Jeong (who is the man behind the creation of OOO's lore and universe). So basically, the music in itself is carefully crafted so that everything can flow and be tied together into a coherent ensemble. It's also the same for the lore. Frankly, OOO's lore/concept has to be one of the most difficult to grasp and intricate in kpop. There are just so many elements to analyze, and there are a lot of different theories. The group and the company do present or explain bits of lore every now and then, but they also remain deliberately vague, so it can be quite tricky to piece all these heteroclite elements together. OOO's lyrics, MVs, visuals and choreographies are all filled with references to other OOO songs and to various medias and cultural items (ranging from mythology to religion, philosophy to astronomy, painting and sculpture to cinematography and literature... and so on). All of these lead to the presence of many double/triple meanings within the songs, and to a variety of possible levels of interpretation. You can tell that the group wants their universe and songs to be as open to various interpretations as possible, which i find wonderful. It nurtures our reflection and our imagination and makes for interesting debates and sharing of opinions within the fandom. Finally, and on a whole other subject : the case of JunJi's hair... no, it wasn't a wig x'D i may not be the best indicated person to discuss on this as i really got into OOO after JunJi had abandoned this hairstyle... but i feel like it created some divisions among the fans. One thing i can say for sure is that your sudden "WHY ???!!!" was the reaction of the entire fandom x'D Some, like you, thought it was great and bold, while others hated it... i must admit i fall more into the 2nd category x'D while i concede it was quite a smart move in terms of comercial strategy because it did gave the group a little push and made them a bit more visible and stand-out at the time (with many new fans wanting to know who was this unique-looking guy with his hair hiding his face), we also have to acknowledge that it caused some problems and unconveniences to JunJi : he admitted not being able to clearly see around him while dancing, and even sometimes being completely blinded by his screen of hair in front of his eyes and blocking his view... he sometimes had to rely on the other members to avoid mistakes and mis-steps on stage. Having such an extravagant haircut must have been interesting but also pretty annoying, unconvenient and even dangerous at times... so i was quite happy when JunJi changed it again. And well, also have to admit that i thought it was such a shame that we couldn't see his handsome face anymore x'D much better now with his long hair pulled back and his beautiful features fully visible, in my opinion ! Anyways, sorry again for this monstruous rant x'D loved this positive reaction (your love for "angel" also warmed my heart, glad that you also find the actress so beautiful ! Apparently she's a model named Nastya Siten, dunno much more about her but she looks absolutely lovely and stunning in the MV). Looks like you're going to have a blast at OnlyOneOf's concert ! Very happy that you'll get to experience this. They're so great on stage, and their choreographies are fantastic (also would recommend you to check these choreos, but you can also wait till the concert and discover them directly live if you prefer to keep the surprise). Thanks a lot for checking out OOO's music and showing some appreciation, they definitely deserve all the love they can get for their talent, hardwork and support towards minorities such as lgbtqia+ ! And we lyOns will welcome you with open arms as a new member of our familly >:)

Beatrice: Beatriz Portinari "Bice" sage and angel speak of the same person, she is Dante's Beatrice, his muse since he was 18 years old, the same night he met her he had a dream that he would later become the beginning of La vita nouva. Sorry, if I went too long, but I feel fascinated by Dante, the truth is that I eliminated almost everything I had written 😂 in detail, the idea is that it is a single story perfectly described in 2 songs and with obvious elements in both videos.

Hope you have a great time at the concert !! I went to their second show and it was absolutely incredible, they’re such insane performers and they were so so happy and energetic! I also got to like meet them and take polaroid pics and stuff and they’re just the sweetest guys, very very friendly and affectionate and they really make you feel comfortable talking to them like i completely stopped being nervous after a bit Also: the solo choreography is just amazing, they debuted it for the first time at their concerts so there’s only concert videos of it so far, but they’re performing the solos 2 at a time so it changes with each concert

I know you're frantically trying to get all the videos in before the show but I highly highly suggest watching the dance practice video for Sage bc that choreo goes OFF. I actually found the MV really distracting and didn't get hooked on the song til I watched the dance practice (at which point I lost my fucking mind and now its tied w/ Dora Maar for my favorite).
