If you get uptiered consider taking FFAR pods to use as makeshift flares. other than A10s and A6s, nothing really contests you at your own BR missile wise.

I just use the F1 to flank and spank. After playing the F1 with Aim9P, it made me realise how much time I wasted researching and trying to play the F104J. (Yea you can definitely do the rocket pods but at that BR everyone is quite close performance wise to each other imo)

@@afloppyfish200 I was fortunate enough to play it and suffer through the first Phantom before top tier got shafted by F14s. The EJ kai is still mediocre at best, but having Limas, a good radar, and 7Fs is still pretty potent. If only it was literally any other airframe though.

@@lordderpington8021 EJ kai is so much better than a tomcat imo. Much faster, just play at altitude and notch AIM54s.

0:48 The audio high cut combined with the G-overload is so cool

IRL, this thing and the t-2 had a chaff pod. If gaijin can add an f-16Aj that Japan “could’ve used” they can add a Flare pod that in theory could be mounted with some modification. Just my opinion.

Even if it's not realistic, they really should've given it flares. Being at that tier without flairs is PAIN.

Praying for mitsubishi XF-2A this update. Fyi it's just an enlarged F-16, with an AESA radar which could just not be modeled yet, but it has the same missiles as the F-16s already in-game.

It would also have better maneuverability (much bigger wings) and acceleration (more powerful engine) than the current early F-16 model, and its partial composite construction would theoretically make it harder to pick up on radar (though I don't know if they would model that). It's a good plane, and I hope we see it, but it'll probably get added alongside the F-16C and the Eurocanards.

@@radnova8810 To be fair, the F-4 was in service with the JASDF until only a few years ago. But I think it's more likely that we see an early F-15 (pre-AMRAAM) before the F-2.

I really hope too. The F4EJ Kai is clearly outmatched by anything, good thing it receiced AIM-9Ls last patch to actually do something. Thats why I prefer by faaaar the F-1, its really excellent at its BR, I dont see why people are dissapointed in it.

Pink, I have a tip that can be useful when you play Mitsubishi F-1/T-2, when researched, use rocket pods as flares, of course it has less effect than normal flares, but it still helps depending on the situation. position of the plane relative to the missile. It's in the same scheme as the flares, disable the afterbunner and fire the rockets. Hope this helps. obs: This works for any plane with and without flares.

The F-1 was fun to play back when all of these new missiles, planes and flares were really added to the game. My love for this aircraft came from War Thunder but now i look at its BR and wonder why its still there.

I heard that if you load a zuni and set the fuse, you can use it as a pseudo flare. And I've heard that in rare cases when you do SEAM, it can behave the same as all-aspect missiles.

The what? If you mean the Radar lead indicator it got removed ages ago, the Radar is basically dead weight in the T-2 and F-1
