Welcome to LOVEBITES 🤘🏼🐺🔥 The band is around since 2016 and released their first EP and album in 2017. At this point they have 4 albums, some singles and EPs and also 4 official live DVD/Blu-ray releases. They just finished their Japan tour. This video is taken from their comeback show in march 2023. Their first live gig since 2021 and first show with their new bassist Fami. Not only is Fami an S tier bass player, but so are the two guitarists Midori and Miyako and the drummer Haruna. M&M are among the great guitar duos of all time. Ok for the homage... but their riff has nothing to do... just the construction of the song and the general atmosphere! Can you imagine if Iron Maiden hadn't reacted and sued them for plagiarism? Someone always has to try and show off their "science"!

YES, your ears were not failing you, this band is that insanely talented. Petite women who wear their femininity proudly and then in heels and gowns go on stage and become metal goddesses. Next Set the World on Fire, Hammer of Wrath, all LIVE which is where this band is exceptional and you truly experience them. Best new band to come along in years. Asami the 4' 10" led vocalist is a stage general Napoleon who commends the crowd and the band from start to finish. They NEVER disappoint but they will ALWAYS surprise!!!!!!!!!

BUT - this solo section is one of the more toned down solos you will find from these two monster guitarists. midori -the blonde - never touched a guitar till she was 20 and is now one of the best in the world - she is called the crazy shredder. miyako - the dark haired one - is a classically trained piano prodigy since age 3 and is now 33. called the golden touch. once again she decided at 18 years old that she would learn to shred and also is a master composer that writes half of their music and is a genius. for serious guitar solos that will numb you 'when destinies align' , 'set the world on fire ' and 'holy war' are live songs you will want to check out and be completely amazed by the talent in what i consider to be by far the world's greatest metal band. talent , beauty and so much class not to be ignored , this band should be a worldwide sensation

Welcome to Lovebites! Best metal band in the world. Full stop. You should check out some more. They don't have a bad song, they're amazing live, and I think as good as this is, there's a lot of other things of theirs I like even more. Really deep rabbit hole if you decide to delve further. Hammer of Wrath and Judgment Day from this show (on their official site) are really good - both live. Holy War is often reacted to (the 2020 show's performance is on their official site). Set the World on Fire live from 2021 is great. Break the Wall and Thunder Vengeance live from 2020 are fantastic. That's not even getting into what most would call their masterpieces. I subscribed in case you check out some more. Nice work on the guitar. You'll have plenty more fuel for that from them. They have what I think is one of the best guitar duos os all time.

Most will say this is just an ok song by them. As others have said, far from their most popular song. To be honest, when this song came out 2 weeks ago, I didn't even remember hearing it before and I have the dvd and cd it's on that just came out in August. Pleasant surprise with you playing the guitar. P.S. I think you got a computer fan rubbing against something. Sounds like a prop airplane in the back ground when the music is low.

Congratulations, you just found the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they waited out the pandemic and searched for a new bassist. They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later. They did their first live performances in more than two years in summer of 2023, with their new bassist Fami. Their very first show was commemorated on the DVD “Knocking on Heaven’s Gate”. They have posted four performances from that DVD-“”Hammer of Wrath”, “Judgement Day”, “Nameless Warrior” and “Liar”, which you just watched. All of them are barn-burners. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and founder of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the great European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other groups. The four of them then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she was also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed a little more than half of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics and is also getting involved in composing. In mid-2021, Miho left the band she had founded, for personal reasons. They went on hiatus while they searched for a new bassist, and during that time, two of them had babies, even as the band were writing and rehearsing their new album. They recently announced the new bassist, Fami, who is a young phenom and herself a composer and multi-instrumentalist. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like crazy). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. Nice reaction! If you want to watch a more bass forward song I'd suggest Hammer of Wrath, from the same live. It's the opening song, Fami's first in front of a real audience and Lovebites' first since covid so the energy is amazing. That song is more trashy, think Testament. They recreate the best of the 80s with a modern, Japanese twist which makes them amazing! I'm looking forward to watching you look further into this amazing band.

you should see Set the world on fire with their original bassist Miho whose idol is Steve Harris and she founded Lovebites with 80 metal in mind.

"Liar" isn't even close to their best song. I strongly suggest "Set the World on Fire" live. The Iron Maiden feel is accurate. They are a traditional thrash/power metal band.

They already played live in GB, and will play live in the U.S. in fall 2024. And yes, this song is _clearly_ influenced by their appreciation of Iron Maiden. I, too, was remined of "Somewhere in time". 😁 More "Iron Maiden"-like Lovebites songs are "The Crusade", "Golden Destination" and "Wicked Witch". If you appreciate "Iron Maiden" _and_ are interested in "Lovebites", please also check the Japanese all-female Metal band "Nemophila", especially their song "Seize the fate". Lovebites are more "arty" in my opinion, "Nemophila" seem more "punky" to me. The singer of Nemophila has "pipes like hell", and they, too, have an incredible vibe. 🐺

With Fami being such a recent addition to the band she's not had much opportunity as yet to have her impact on the new material. This is an earlier song. Even the latest album Judgement Day was pretty much conceptualized before she joined. Miyako, the dark haired genius, and Mao (who's like a composing 'sixth member') had got the basics laid out.

This is a great song, but it's relatively tame by their standards. There are way more aggressive and complex Lovebites songs.

If it's not to your tastes then you're probably best avoiding Mota's videos, analysing stuff through figuring parts of songs out by ear afterwards is his stock in trade. Personally I see the charm in that approach as it shows his engagement with the material beyond basic appreciation.
