This map is incredible, the ambiance is just amazing. At night it gets incredibly dark and it's hard to travel so people tend to hunker down and light fires. If you get to a high point you can see them dotted around for kilometers - probably the coolest thing I have seen in a game!

For those of you who don't know or who haven't play the original DayZ, the 'earthquake things' are radiation storms. You can avoid them by going inside. Your screen will go black for a few moments and you might bleed a bit, but you should be alright. There should also be some kind of tool (Radiation mask) that allows you to be outside and not be killed or knocked out by the storm, at least that's how it was in Arma2. If this map is faithful to the original, there should also be an invisible creature that stalks you and can 1 hit you, so beware of that. They are VERY rare though and you can hear them walking/stomping/growling around. Your best bet is to run to a house and funnel it into a doorway. If you have a high capacity weapon, spray at the sound and you will see blood when you hit it. Best of luck and stay safe in Namalsk, survivors!

I've been 15 minutes in Namalsk, and I knew that place instantly ... I had the very same struggle with that ladder!

Between the cold, 'the boom', bear traps, and insane zombie mobs, it looks like a shit place to play. Can't wait to try it - lol. Cheers Paul, a great adventure.

Well the "Disaster" that killed you is actually an "Emission" just like in Stalker. The sounds all over the map are also from Stalker. The modder is obviously a huge Stalker fan. Cheers.

I love Namalsk. The fact that you actually have to get inside with a fire and warm up is incredible! I absolutely love this map!

Man you've got the patience of a saint with how you deal with the dudes in chat. Most people would've said fuck it and banned the ones that kept on, but you chilled with them even in that stressful situation, major props.

Loved the way you handled the negative comments in the chat, at the beginning of this video, man. Tell 'em to make their own game if they got all the ideas. We don't have a lot of good zombie survivals yet.

Just as a secondary comment. In OSRS, a game that ive followed for years, there is a quite substantial community centered around self limiting account builds.. i think it resonates with the survival aspects of dayz and even perhaps more so in Namalsk. Anyways just wanna perhaps share with you, the idea of self limiting gameplay - that be perhaps you cannot wear certain stuff or drink certain stuff, whatever it may be, to make survival that much harder. Makes for great replayability

I used to absolutely love playing Namalsk Back in 2013, gotta give this a shot

Yeah I play the Xbox version of Chernarus and Livonia. I love being able to use the controller bcuz the Xbox controllers fit my hands like a glove. I've been using analog joysticks for so long I can do everything I need with them. Plus I am absolutely shit with mouse and keyboard. Lol. I agree tho, I wish they would release mods on console. They would sell like hotcakes.

them thunderstorms on namalsk are such a pain. the desolate location, the freezing cold, the absolute darkness, the emp storms, ALL the creepy sounds, childrens voices in the forests, the creeky trees in the wind. its like the entire map wants to kill you, and i absolutelly hate it and love it at the same time. nothing in DayZ beats this map

With that being said this is another one of those games that doesn't really hold your hand just like Escape From Tarkov to (it's just a bit more intense in that aspect but certainly a relatively reasonable metaphor.) Neverthelesss, when "TheRunningManZ" explains it he just explains a very complicated game in a very down to earth, & extremely intelligible way. & with out a doubt one of the easiest to follow. Well enough tit sucking lol. I am just speaking the facts that I see. These are very vital things too practice when in the content creation industry. But honestly your killin it bud! Truly hope I don't run into you but then I do. But hopefully it would be close quarters so we could possibly VoIP before a possible misunderstanding. I feel like long range your just gonna get the kill. No talking nessary. 🙃🙃

I've not played DayZ for a few months because of the daunting task of starting again as I bet my characters not saved now , probably gone last it's save time ha ha you've inspired me to brave it though again after watching this , how spooky is it hearing children laughing I think I'd feel better if I had people watching like you as itd feel like someone was there with me. I'm always paranoid of carrying a torch at night as I've been capped a few times by bandit players and it's brutal love your videos cheers

Yeah that bugs me as well. Gets really annoying but it's a product of his success I suppose. I wish he would maybe lower the volume on it or just have the visual prompt come up. It's really gets bad when it happens ever 15 seconds. But I am happy he's getting alot of subscribers and resubs just wish it was less intrusive

All streamer videos have that. I would love it if there was a way for twitch streamers to remove that from vods, but for now its probably not possible. The mind tends to filter it out eventually.

Maybe it's blurry to resemble watery eyes being so cold I guess u would be wiping your eyes alot lol

I believe the ARMA2 version also had the blurred vision to simulate how cold it was; i.e. at night and atop a mountain, it's like looking through a bathroom window. But it's been a long time since I played the mod so I could be remembering incorrectly.

The bug that makes your screen blurry used to be in some of the other Arma games. When you get some health back you press the ESC and go to menu, the ESC again. Usually fixes it.

Paul the bear trap magnet! We had our own server on this map for a few months, before Standalone. Those children screams in the distance are embedded in my brain!

Ive actually restarted this vid a bunch of times, -now, Im finaly in the mood to watch it all trough in one! - I realy like these long videos, you can kind of save them for when you feel like them, yet I kinda know each of them will be great to watch at some time sooner or later! The way you narate is - in my view - excelently balanced as it is engaging yet casual enough for me the viewer. So thank you mate for those vidz again, they entertain me for many an hour these days! One thing I have been noticing, if I put this corectly is those twitch sounds during the video ("its time to start running" top left screen) mostly the sound can be a bi tdisturbing when chosing to watch in blown with headpones etc. If there is an easy way to seperate those sounds from twitch to youtube I think it would be great for Immersion! I know this is whining at high lvl right nowI know so please dont mind me too much, see you all in the next one!

Watching TRMZ and others on Namalsk has been fun. Sumrak released the Namalsk map for Arma 2 back in 2008. His 2011 Namalsk Crisis campaign - which the DZ Namalsk mod is a direct descendent of - was not for the faint of heart or for kids with short attention spans. This incarnation of it for DayZ looks beautiful. Cheers to Sumrak and his team!

The blur is a vision bug thats leftover from that crazy storm that knocks you out. It goes away if you exit the game completely then restart it.
