    I agree about the box size they should make it smaller. Smaller boxes means more puzzles fit on your shelf! 😁😁😁😂😂

    I would love it if you got the chance to tour and film a puzzle manufacturing facility. You could find out what causes some of the issues puzzlers experience. Your description of a possible die-cutting problem made me wonder if a die-cutting machine needs periodic sharpening 🤔 BTW, your descriptions and images of the pieces were very clear 😊🧩💜

    Hi Kia, thanks for another great video! I have half a dozen pieces and peace puzzles and I a a big fan of them. I have not had that issues with the fraying edges at all. I wonder if yours were exposed to high moisture conditions. I agree with you totally that a smaller box makes more sense, but I think that’s my only gripe with them. The pieces are a tiny bit thinner than some other brands but they were plenty sturdy so I didn’t mind. I love so many of their images I will probably buy more when some new ones come out. Thanks again for the video, keep em coming 😁

    Those piece issues are caused by the cutting die being dull typically. So the paper and cardboard more tore then cut leading to the separation at the edges of the pieces.

    I have done quite a few Pieces & Peace puzzles, and I really like them 😁. I agree that the boxes are way to big (both becourse it's seems like a waste of resources, and because it takes up way to much space on my shelfs!), but the texture on the pieces I think are amazing. The fit is a little loose, and it's not the best quality out there, but I have never experienced any quality issues or damaged pieces. For the price I think they are definitely great puzzles 😁. Where I live they are quite cheep compared to other brands with such lovely modern images. A 1000 piece puzzle costs between (what is about) 38 to 42 NZD so a very reasonable price in my mind, compared to the general price of puzzles in Denmark and for such a modern brand. A 500 piece puzzle cost about 33 NZD, also a fine price for the quality 😊.

    I'm glad you haven't encountered any quality issues like I had that you enjoy them. I believe that someone commented that they use the same size box for the 2k pieces but then the pieces are quite squashed. They should rethink their packaging. 💜🧩

    Interesting that the puzzles are considered to be on the cheaper side in Denmark. In Germany, many brands are cheaper, even American ones, which I find odd.

    Hello! First time commenting in your channel. So I live in Europe and buy Pieces and Peace puzzles from French retailers. So far I have not had very bad experiences with them in terms of quality, it is true that it is not top of the range as other French brands (such as Trevell), but then the price is quite much cheaper than those “higher quality” brands. In general, I have found their quality similar to Ravensburger (as I said, I have not had these issues that you mention). In terms of price, I’d say they are about 10% higher than Ravensburger here, so for me (as I am not specifically practicing only speed puzzling) it is worth paying that bit more for nicer images. When I want to splurge, then I buy Trevell and the like (or even Reverie, which here is about twice the price of Pieces and Peace) and I do see a big difference in terms of quality, but for me, Pieces and Peace is a really good compromise in terms of price + quality + design. Hope this helps!

    I tried my first by the brand ealier in June. I did have issues, also seemed to be due to die-cut, but different than yours. I had many many pieces not cut through and some that looked like they split apart from the stress, so the prongs split off attached to the neighboring piece. Did not seem like the puzzle would hold up over time. A lot of glue and tape, and hopefully my mom can do it (really cute image), and then I think it needs to be retired.

    Oh no!!! So perhaps they just have cutting problems in general. That's unfortunate as they have some really cool images and give money to charity. I do worry that mine wouldn't hold up to multiple builds either.

  • @DasRainchen
    @DasRainchen23 күн бұрын

    Could be a cutting issue with the edges fraying on the pieces but it could also be the adhesion between the layers of cardboard.

    I did my first peace and pieces puzzle a few weeks ago and didn’t have that issue. I’m wondering if their blades on their machine was dull. I wasn’t that impressed with the puzzle though. I like a sharper image, although the images were beautiful and colourful. In Canada their puzzles are 3 or 4 dollars more than a Ravensburger, so too much when comparing quality in my opinion.

    I'm thinking the blades were dull - that makes complete sense. More expensive than Ravensburger...ahh...I'd probably pick Ravensburger over them also.

  • @jowwza
    @jowwza24 күн бұрын

    Never tried them but checked the prices and they seem expensive to me, about a 1/3 more for 1000 pieces than Ravensburger here - well it depends where you buy them, many regular shops have all puzzles very expansive. Their images are really nice though so I would maybe buy one for trying, but for such a price I would except awesome quality otherwise it's not worth it. Btw I really really really hate the giant boxes, my space is very limited and would buy way more puzzles if I had the place. For all those companies it would be way smarter to make compact boxes just right to fit all the pieces in comfortably and they could sell way more puzzles, many of us can't buy them because of space limitations. I've considered throwing away the boxes and only take the small image off from the side of the box and put more puzzles in one box to save the space and be able to buy more of them, but than I think I might swap it one day and didn't yet make that decision. There is some progress regarding this, you can find some smaller boxes now once in a while but most are still those that are 3/4 empty. Great example is Peace puzzle 500 piece series from Clementoni.

  • @fortheloveofpuzzles

    Because of box sizes, I have to move puzzles along out of my collection as I also just don't have the space. And then travelling, I just bring the top of the box home unless it's a very special puzzle that a collection keeper like my Guinness World Records and Anniversary Puzzle. I would like to have smaller boxes, with a good size poster so that they can fit on shelves more easily. Some brands are more or less expensive depending on where they are made and where they are sold - I can understand that. But overall, we all can of have a sense of how much a good quality 500 or 1000 piece puzzle should cost in our local currency. I'll have to look up this Peace puzzle from Clementoni. I know Revensburger and Cobble Hill have reduced box sizes which is great.

    @@fortheloveofpuzzles Yes hopefully companies will listen to buyers, though most of the boxes you see in the stores are still the giant size. Maybe idea for a video with a collection of different brand just showing all the empty spaces and asking the companies why is that really necessary and than forwarding the video to most of them. And if you get a chance the Peace puzzle collection is really nice with relaxing nature photos. Also here they were really cheap got some online for 6 euros. If nothing else you could buy them here when you get to Europe and then send a giant packet full of puzzles home 🤣

    It is so interesting and concerning that I've heard many people have issues with their piece quality lately. I love their images, have many of their puzzles and haven't had any quality issues with any I've done. But now I'm slightly worried about the two I own but haven't done yet. I really hope this is just a temporary issue they have had and the quality hasn't gone down overall.

    Ahah so funny to hear you pronounce those names, the 'g' and the 'ch' are both pronounced as a hard gggggg, the sound that hurts in the back of your throat if you are not used to it. 😂 (Like a cat that has something stuck in its throat.) I am from the Netherlands but really dislike Amsterdam, the negen straatjes is a very popular tourist area so its always crowded and filthy. (But I dislike Amsterdam in general so I am biased I guess. 😬 Also I have the same turtle puzzle, it was still packed so I opened it during the video to look at the pieces, and I saw a few pieces had the issue too, but not that many. Pieces and piece is a bit more expensive that Ravensburger here but the quality is seems less, so I will only buy it if I really really really like the image.

    I understand your comments about packaging but I don’t like a poster, I prefer the box top and I rarely sort, I’m a sift through the box puzzler so a Ravensburger 1000 piece box size is perfect for my preferred building technique. For me posters are a waste of paper, I never use them, so I agree we need to be mindful of packaging and I do understand the environmental views and agree that we have to reduce and reuse so hopefully the puzzle manufacturers can come up with a great design that suits all 😀
