I arrived in Rio right as Carnival was starting and made my way down to Ipanema Beach not knowing what to expect.
As I got closer I heard the pounding drums and blasting music of a massive crowd dancing in the streets. It was my first ever bloco, one of the famous street parties of Carnival in Rio.
The energy was electric - thousands of people singing, dancing, and just having an absolute blast.
Rio Carnival is world famous for a reason - and now that I've experienced a bloco, I totally get the hype.
