You should get the velux duo blind like Victoria has in her dressing room window, it allows the light in but with a white sheer screen to diffuse the light 😊 your dressing room is stunning!! X

Yes and I think Vic's also has the option of total black out as well, great to have all those options! :D

What a contrast! I remember you trying to fit everything in your small wardrobes. You had to put out of season clothing up somewhere ( attic?) in suitcases.

Well, you've really done it this time. After 2 weeks of the most beautiful equestrian style outfits I was officially 'influenced' to purchase a gorgeous pair of leather riding boots. Mind you, Josie, I do NOT live in the glorious English countryside, but rather in the humid climate of SW Florida! Yes, my friend, you are indeed an 'influencer'! So here's my plan for not looking totally idiotic in boots - I will be retiring December 31st after spending 43 years as an RN in scrubs. I will absolutely be wearing my new boots to the polo matches in Sarasota. Thank you for all the endless inspiration for wardrobe, home & garden. I love & appreciate it all!

@laurie carpenter, you can be stylish in Florida in Dec thru Feb. Wear all your riding outfits and the jersey dresses with a long cardigan. 🤣💕. I am gonna get some jersey dresses. Can't do cowl or turtle necks tho, hot flashes.🤣

I'm in Tampa and I love my riding boots. I get cold easily and am past menopause so I don't get to hot wearing them.

Gorgeous dressing room. Charlie, all the plants in your pots are perennials. When they stop flowering this season you can plant them out in your garden borders. Plants will come back every year and will grow bigger each year. You could leave them in pots as well but you probably want seasonal colour in you gorgeous display. Plants name are Persicaria, Astrantia, Salvia and Lavender

I think you mean cable knit, when the knitting is twisted to look a bit like a plait. Fair Isle is the technique of combing different colors and patters, if I'm not wrong. (coming from an American, haha) :D

Love the room.. You mentioned light coming in from a window and placed a dust sheet over... If its a Velux window there are standard clip in blinds available in loads of colours.. Patterns and light flow... Easy to fit and use!

Josie, I have given up on cashmere socks because when one wears them only a couple of times, especially in boots , there always develops a hole in the toe box area.I have since found these thin 100% percent smart wool socks that keep your feet warm whether (in the Canadian winter ) it be in fashion boots or in snow boots, or even in actual equestrian riding boots, and with no itch.

Good morning Josie. Might I suggest you paint the little cabinet in the guest room (the one Charlie purchased for the bathroom) a chalk paint red to match the lamp shade. I think it would look perfect in that room. Once again, love love love your dressing room!

You should look into changing the glass in the window to smart glass or a smart glass film over it. That way you can just switch the opaqueness of the glass with a remote as you need it.

Have you ever noticed that so many of your food choices, match your wardrobe of neutral colors! Oh, and 'fabulous lighting darling' :)

The cornices are the finishing touches that elevate things to a whole other level! Also the little spider cubbies getting closed up finishes off the lines and flow of those areas beautifully and made them seamless! I would highly recommend a blind for that window to diffuse the light and give you more control over the lighting! Victoria/Inthefrow just added one to her dressing room window should you need resources! And with winter approaching and grey days ahead, it’s so smart to plan on good lighting no matter the circumstances! Getting diffusion silks ordered for your softboxes is very wise if you can’t locate the others! Your new dressing table is so lovely and feels like such an elegant addition. However, you might try swapping around the decorative finial bits to see if they sit flush in a different position. Of course, you need to do whatever suits... but I imagine you doing all of your “getting ready” up in your dressing room with an abundance of space to house all of your makeup and hair paraphernalia! I envision in the evenings after you remove your makeup in the master bath, and you’re in some glorious nightwear and matching peignoir (marabou slippers optional 😉😊😆), walking in and sitting at your fabulous vanity, applying your evening lotions and potions before sliding into bed. Perhaps a dainty tray on top for those loved items that might not fit in the drawers. Having boxes and electrical cords visible might not be what you want as the first visual when walking into your gorgeous bedroom. This fancy vanity reminds me of old-timey movies when the elegant lady of the manor does her evening ritual at a beautiful vanity, rubbing lotion on her hands and elbows... then gets into bed after removing her matching silk peignoir... and undoubtedly she has on a full face of makeup! 😂😂🤣🤣😂😂 Of course they wouldn’t dare be “method” back in the day and have her barefaced! But those old Hollywood starlet movies with the elegant Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn or Elizabeth Taylor will always hold a special place in my heart! The elegance is truly inspirational! The way women were depicted and treated back in the day... definitely not!! But you can be a modern and elegant boss lady anytime you desire! You do you!

Charlie use some bulbs for your lovely aluminium cans they can be so pretty in spring. Daffoils .. hyasinth .. snowdrops ... so many options. 🍃🍃🍃🍃

Hello Josie. Velux has sunscreens, blackout screens and mosquito screens for their windows. They are easy to install, so your handy man will surely be able to do to install them. I got all 3 of them on every Velux, so I don’t have to worry about the sun, I can keep mosquitoes out when I open the window and If I want it pitch dark i close the black-out screen. The screens are all a pull down system. Easy like all Velux equipment. Maybe take a look on their site.
