I am irrationally excited about this. I was a single mom with my first child and I wouldn't change it for the world. We have an amazing bond. I found my better half later and he and my son are inseparable. Live your life to the fullest, someone will come along that fits into your family and if not, you will never have to give up the remote or hear groans when it's time for trashy tv 🖤

So many people suffer in silence...omg your whole story is so relatable...extreme lost of blood every month....drained, extremely low iron...was put on iron for anemia, always tired, depressed.. I'm waiting to get an ultrasound as I write this.😔 i can't take birth control... My friend went to 5 Dr before they helped her. Wah thank you for sharing.

Thanks for sharing your journey with us Wah. I am scared to think how many women of color have been pressured or scared into having hysterectomies by insensitive, poorly trained [no bedside manners] doctors.

I am an introvert as well. I completely understand needing that alone/quiet time. My daughter is five now and it was a big adjustment for me, but I forced myself to join Early Childhood PTA and get involved so I didn't deprive her of experiences ( I could stay in my house all day, not have human interaction and be totally fine) I have to sneak in my recharge time when I can. Sometimes it's just as simple as staying up late after she is in bed and watching my KZread videos or true crime shows and crocheting. It's not much, but it is a bit of quiet time. I am so happy you are sharing your journey and i will be following.

Thank you Wahima for sharing your journey. I have PCOS and Endo as well. Cursed with both. Then being overweight it didn't help. Went to a fertility specialist who suggested to get a bariatric surgery which I am officially schedule to get next month. I too suffer from severe anemia as well. Last year I did so much iron transfusions that I got fed up. By the time I become a hopeful mother, I'll be about 38 years old.

Oh kudos to that nurse. I’m glad she recommended a fabulous doctor. I’m proud that you’ve made a decision to just take your destiny into you own hands. I don’t have any experience with fibroids but I have had IVF multiple times. I’ll save that for part two.

I love that you've decided to share this Wah. I can relate so much- retroverted uterus, fibroids and all the complications associated. I'm 32 this month. I get UTIs all the time because of the positioning of the growths pressing on my bladder I guess🤷🏾‍♀️ having a vagina is a full time job with no paid time off. All the best with your journey. I am so happy for you on this journey and cannot wait to hear part 2. As I mentioned on your other channel, I had a Myomectomy in my late 20’s and then didn’t have my first child until 36, almost 10 years later. When I had my surgery, my doctor removed several fibroids and when I became pregnant I had a couple of small fibroids that thankfully didn’t grow with either of my two pregnancies. I pray your journey be successful and fruitful.

You are beautiful. Thank you for sharing your story. I cringe because I had too have dealt with heavy periods not remembering when they became heavy. I have had iron infusions do to the low iron levels. I had a cryo procedure that froze the fibroids and honestly it worked for one month. Then things got worse. Maybe I’ll leave that drama for another time.

Honestly, my story! I think we are too accepting as my GP was like oh it's just fibroids... no explanation or anything, try the mini-pill... just a disaster! Then when I went back to ask what I could do, he literally told me that it was a hysterectomy or accept it.... i wasn't even 30... I have to say, I am grateful to Cynthia from RHOA as i wouldn't know there was an another option, until she went through the same thing.

How exciting! Good for you for deciding not to wait for Mr Right to show up and "make you a mother". We don't have an unlimited fertility time clock, no matter how youthful and gorgeous we may look or feel. Maybe you'll meet Mr Right in a Parents Without Partners event. When you took the medication to open your cervix, you got a preview of what labor feels like. The pain is simply the cervix opening up, but to 10 cm dilation. Something to look forward to.😉

I am older than you, but the procedures used for me were just like yours. I had a flash back when you talked about the little pill to open your cervix. I will say this, you know you were having contractions not cramps. After the trauma of that pain I laughed because I had the pain of labor without the baby. I opted for the hysterectomy. I wish you well and the happy healthy baby you desire.

In the Netherlands one woman wrote a book about women and heart disease, since women have way different signals that something is wrong with your heart than men, and that's the reason so many women suffer or even die from heart disease. I also remember an episode of Oprah, where she discussed this aswell. In a way, in medicine, women are treated the same as men while women are 100% different from men health- and symptom wise which could mean that women are, like, always late to the party. Come to the female reproduction, the last 100 years have been a race to get things on track (think about why there are all these female birth control ways and men just have condoms or a snippee (Larissa)). Now I have had male doctors that were awesome and nice and all, and I have had female OBGYN that were worthy of Biyotch of the Century awards, but when it comes down to down, you need someone that goes the extra mile. Mirena not going in ? Tilted uterus ? Excessive bleeding ? Action !!!! Hormones ???? Finetuning until it fits. Hormones ???? Not available until all side effects are knows and tackled. In a way, women are guinea piggees (Larissa) in the medical world. We need to change that. VOICE !!!! Speak !!! Share !!! This channel Wah, I adore you for it, I praise you for it. We are way behind and need to overtake this situation. I think I can speak for everyone here that we are with you all the way.

Moral of the story that I got is to go to a female OBGYN as they are more reasonable with dealing with the feminine parts. I feel so bad for you having to deal with that second OBGYN. UNfortunately, there are ALOT of male doctors who dont give a rats ass and just go for sterilization as it is easier.. not to mention you are black.. he probably thought he was doing the world a favour

Have you looked into traditional Chinese Medicine like acupuncture and herbs? There are so many practitioners out there who understand OBGYN in a holistic way and can help you regulate your period and help you get pregnant as well.

I will be looking into all options. I am going to starting drinking a tea that should help shrink my remaining fibroids after my surgery

Wahima Lino awesome! I know a lot of women who have had a lot of success with that so I know you will too. I’m in school for it now and it’s an invaluable medicine. Obviously it can get costly if you don’t have insurance but there are Acu schools that offer way discounted rates for treatment. Thank you for sharing your stories, I wish you all the best!!!

Thank you for sharing your journey. Not sure if you’ve heard of Coach Gessie, she has a KZread channel and has done other interviews. She helps black women heal fibroids and other issues naturally . Hope this helps.

Girl! You sound crazy like me, our story similar re the fibroid and trying to find someone. I literally told a friend I am going to sperm bank to get me some sperms injected😂😂😂. I think I am waiting for Mr. perfect and he don’t exist!
