My FD2 Type-R Converted Civic Si Build/Mod List

Фильм және анимация

In today’s video, I will be showing you guys every modification that I’ve done to my car since I’ve bought it and I’ll also be exposing how much money I’ve dumped into it thus far.
-Please excuse the background noise, I was recording near a busy highway.
I’ll also be sharing some great websites for OEM, aftermarket or good quality replica parts for Fa5 and Fd2 builds. Shoutout to Francisco and Kelvin Terrero for helping me transform this car at their shop, M&B Auto Performance located in Lowell MA. Also, thank you to @charlie.moua.doryoku on Instagram for the custom Mugen Valve cover. Below are some of the website that I had mentioned for parts.
* TNA Auto
* CF Spec
* King MotorSports
* Art of Attack
* ICB MotorSports
* ABS Dynamics
* K Playground
* Croober
* Nungun
* Osojdmparts on IG
* Vivid Racing
* HardMotion
* KSeriesParts
* ProCivic
* CorSport USA
If I made any mistake in the video, feel free to correct me down in the comments, I won’t take offense. Also, let me know what you guys think of the build, what you guys would have done differently if it was your car or what you have coming next for your 8th gen build.
Be sure to follow me on Instagram @rbmfd2 for the latest updates on my build. Thank you for watching today’s video. Be sure to like, comment, subscribe and share with friends! See you guys in the next one.

    Great video, you broke down everything super detailed and neat with b roll going with what was going on. And your explanation of what you like was dope. Especially the part where you like just the slotted rotor look than drilled&slotted. Thought I was the only one 😂

    You should put an Injen Hydroshield or AEM Dryflow on your filter. Def get the Mishimoto radiator + fan, helps keep the water at 175 during hot summer days.

    Dang dude, did you just do a fast & furious on a parking lot? Pretty cool man! Like you did to customized you HC to your exact specifications for performance. Let's do a 1/4 mile race man, I gotta a 2017 Honda Mobilio from Philippines, that I boost up a little bit. Yeah let's do it man, just say when & where? We used to it back in those days at LA area in the middle of the night when cops are taking their donuts break.

    Hey I'm a FD2/1 fanboy myself, I'm in the middle of working fitment on the body and wheel setup with my air suspension. Now the 09 FA5 SI, I am the 3rd driver to the car where the previous owner only drove 3k miles to race and daily drive so he bought the KW V3 coilover kit (retails @ $2,229.00 USD). I ask as you mentioned in the end of your video wanting some nice coilovers, would you be interested in buying the V3 for a fair price? I have documentation from a KW rep that they are real. Thanks for posting your video I liked your thoughts on every mod and update to yours as it will inspire me into the future mods of my own.

    To the owner of this car. I'm just taking a guess here based on the pictures you showed of the process of respraying the car , I'm wondering are you a body man ? Or painter? Just wondering as I've been a heavy collision tech, and high end automotive customization and restoration tech as well as a considerably capable fabricator and an even more capable welder when using a mig. If you are in the collision / auto body trade I just wanted to say hi cause there aren't that many of us out there , especially from the younger generations , it's too physicallly strenuous and meticulous type of trade for most young people these days. So just wanted to give a hi five to another body man and say nice SI, my brother's 08 SI sedan is the same exact color yours was befoee you resprayed it, best civic chassis since the 88-91 EF's and '92-'95 EG chassis civics. Also want to give you just a small suggestion of advice regarding the fact that in the video you stated you installed a short shifter kit. Some people like them , some don't , but the truth is whether you like them or not , that they are not at all good for your transmisson and almost always lead to destruction of the synchros , especially in 2nd and 3rd gears , they also are infamous for causing bent and or cracked shift forks , and given that out of all the different 6 speeds made over the years for civics and rsx's , the 6spd in the 06-11 SI's is the weakest and by far the most prone to premature failure. If I were you I'd put the stock shifter assembly back in the car and install solid bushings Iin the shift linkage if you want the gearbox to feel tightened up , but yeah you using that short shifter is essentially making your transmission a ticking time bomb. When my brother bought his 08 SI 3 years ago I had to pull the trans right away to rebuild it as he bought it with a cracked shift fork . And even though he bought it with only 112,000 miles on it , when I pulled the trans apart I found that it had brass synchros which were aftermarket which means that transmission already needed to be rebuilt at least 1 other time prior to him buying it , and like I said he bought it with only 112k miles on it , and guess what , the guy that owned it before my brother bought it had installed a short shifter assembly , and I guarantee that's what caused the trans to need two rebuilds within only 112k miles , and I bet had that short shifter assbly never been installed and assuming the previous owner knew how to drive properly I'd bet that with the stock shifter if wouldn't have needed either of the two rebuilds , at least not until considably further on down the road when it had a lot more miles on it. I removed my bros short shifter assembly he bought it with before he even registered the car and replaced it with a stock unit, sold the piece of crap short shifter to some ignorant sucker who thought he was buying a beneficial and functional modification part for his k20 swapped EF hatch, I figured let him destroy his trans if he wants but my bro refused to even drive the car until I removed it an put a stock unit back in like it should be. Consider this advice as if you can't pull and rebuild then reinstall your own transmission , your gonna be paying some shop a considerably high amount of money for them to do the job for you.. if I was you I'd throw that short shifter kit in the trash , install a stock one , along with solid shift linkage bushings and maybe a weighted shifter knob , your transmissions synchros and shift forks will appreciate it immensely. Take my advice or leave it , just figured I'd put it out there if your not already aware. Now that I'm further into the video I have a critisism ,.you spent hundreds of dollars on a stupid freaked dip stick and oil cap as well as.mamu other stupid sense less mods, but you didn't actually buy and install a genuine used type complete engine and transmission so essentially none of this car is actually "type R" except for the required body panels , a Guage cluster and a pair of front seats which are not nearly as nice looking as the stock SI seats IMHO. This. Doesn't make any sense to me because what has always truly made a genuine Type R is not the body panels and cosmetics, it's way more the drivetrain that makes all Type R's special and so much different from all the other civic and integra trim levels. Function over fashion bro , thats the only way to build a Honda IMHO , most of these mods in my eyes are all irrelevant wastes of al ot of money that coulda been spent on other things that actually make the car better like performance enhancing parts. Not trying to be a dick it's just I'm from the old school golden days of modifying and street racing Hondas , old school as in I was installing a full 93 Gsr genuine B17 swap in my buddies 90 crx before they even made engine mount kits back in late 1998 into 1999 cause he had problems finding all the parts , so being from that era , the first wave of Honda fanatics we all from those days tend to care a hell of a lot more.abiut how fast our cars accelerate and how well they handle and brake, and cared far far far less about looks which is simply another ugly sign of too much materialism in the young generations. With your car looking so flashy with the type r body panels your gonna attract slot of attention from other tuners on the highways , what are you gonna do when they start calling you out wanting to race ? I mean you have nearly nothing for power increasing mods , so your car def ain't fast , hell it's prob barely even considered quick , I'd call a mid to high 14 second car (your car) peppy at best , practically all other drivers in modded vehicles that call you out to race are gonna likely smoke you hard and they are gonna think your a joker driving around in a car that looks so sportu and flashy but doesn't have the performance to back that stuff up , I'd find that incredibly embarassing. Those red fabric door panel inserts dont look too nice , I think they give off the classic "I'm a ricer" vibe as do the seats. Sell all that cosmetic junk and buy a humble performance budget turbo kit and kpro , do that and you gain some respect trust me especially if it looked still like a fairly stock SI. I mean it looks good , I just think it's retarded to spend 18 thousand dollars on modifications and out of that all you have to gain power is an intake , header and exhaust which is pathetic , and the intake is a cold air intake which never make the same high end HP gains as a nice short ram intake with 3.5"-4" diameter aluminum piping
