Each year, our Christmas songs become better-known and are performed by more and more artists, schools, choirs, churches and even the US Army band orchestra. They have won the UK songwriting Contest four times and been used by major TV networks during the festive season. After struggling to gain record company support for his Victorian-themed idea, British singer-songwriter, Leigh Haggerwood, decided to make it happen himself by gathering together his musician friends and writing, producing and singing this Christmas song. The accompanying Christmas video was filmed at the fantastic Blists Hill Victorian Town at Ironbridge in Shropshire and it features the skills of top director Nick Bartleet and Cinematographer John Perez (known for his work on Coldplay's Viva La Vida, Beyoncé and many other productions). I still can’t believe that this track never got picked up commercially, as I have this on my Christmas playlist every year & this is one of the best Christmas Songs to come out in the last 15 years. Shame on all those record labels & well done to The Florin Street Band.

October 24th 2023. Exactly 2 months away from the night this video is about! Christmas Eve night!A truly magical song! I absolutely love it! I have introduced friends around the world it it! As well as ones just round the corner! Lol!
I come here each Christmas to hear this song. It is one of my all time favorites and I am here on earth for my 60th Christmas. Merry Christmas to everyone and a Happy 2024.
Absolutely beautiful! I'm actually siting here with tears in my eyes! How ridiculous is that? The music, the song itself, the video, the props and costumes, perfection. It brought back so many memories of my childhood from days long gone by. My Dad believed that us kids couldn't appreciate the tractors on the farm unless we knew what it was like to have to use the horses first as he and my grandfather had done before me. We had eight draft horses and two saddle horses along with as many as 400 head of cattle at times. The grandparents place still used the wood stove in the kitchen to cook and two huge double firebox pot belly wood stoves to heat the house in the winter when I was growing up. We used the kerosene lanterns for light in the barn and about the land. To this day I still use the old kerosene lamps and the wood stove in my home, not just for winter heat and emergency lights, but for the atmosphere at Christmas. You have no idea how this warmed my heart and I'm looking forward to not only seeing and hearing more, but also seeing this one become a Christmas classic for generations to come. It's been 13 years, I remember it was just newly released when I stumbled on this. And since then, I keep on playing this wonderful song every holiday season. Definitely my most favourite Xmas carol.

I could say that is one of the best Christmas song compose in the 21st century. The music, the angelic voices and all the pictures in this video are amazing. While listening this song could Christmas be far behind!
This song is on my Christmas playlist and I was showing my Parents it. They normally don't like 'modern day Christmas songs' but they absolutely loved this one and I don't blame them. This was the first song they put on and on December 26th - 28th, we have a buffet and they played this song first each day. No one got tired of it. (October 16th)

I'm back. It wouldn't be Christmas if I didn't listen to this song ten or more times this season. It stirred me the first time I heard it, and it still does. Brilliant, work of art. My friends of other ethnicity love it for what it represents. Anyone who criticizes this kind of music or the message it sends is heartless. It's not all about religion -- it's about brotherhood, friendship, burying the ax, forgiveness, celebration and who can't understand that simple concept? I'll be back next year and many years after -- this is uplifting, optimistic music and should be heard by many millions more even if they are not Christian. It's just people being human again and florinstreet and Leigh Haggerwood has given listeners a gift. Over 2 million listens -- remarkable.

Thanks Kevin! Sadly no support from national radio when it was released, mainly because we were unknown artists and X Factor ruled the airwaves at the time. It seems to get more popular each year though, so maybe one day it'll be better-known. I hope you have a good Christmas 😊

If each person can help even just one homeless person, you will have made a difference to someone's life. Everyone deserves to be happy. It's not good being on the streets, it's hard & cruel. It's far from what the media would have you belive. It's mothers, fathers, children, familys, ex servicemen/servicewomen, disabled, elderly, they are all vulnerable & in need of your help. With all the craziness of Christmas over, I'm sitting here enjoying the much promised and most elusive "quiet" of Christmas - tree lit, candles burning, dogs settled , a very nice single malt in a vintage Waterford tumbler (both presents from the kids), and this wonderful music...Thanks again for being part of our holiday Florin!
