The first time you hear one of norms jokes, it’s like watching a drunk guy stumble a tightrope, barely hanging on, then landing a perfect finish out of nowhere. The second time you hear the joke, you realize the guy was sober the whole time, and the joke was that you thought he was drunk.

There is nothing like listening to Conan talk about Norm's comedic choices. He spoke so lovingly, and admirably about Norm, that was was way before Norm even passed. I love when Conan refers to Norms jokes as "Farmer's Wives" jokes or "Traveling Salesman" jokes 😂😂😂 And he explains that he doesn't laugh at the joke, but instead he laughs at the audacity of Norm to attempt that joke to an audience. Conan said that it was like watching Norm split an atom lmao Imagine having that much love from one of your colleagues or contemporaries ❤️❤️❤️

What made Norm special is that the glint in his eyes and his childish yet devilish grin was for his amusement and his ALONE! Norm could careless if the joke was not found to be funny by the people, he simply told these long drawn out stories for his inner child self. His goal was to make himself smile and that's what separated him from other comics. Norm was a Top 10 comedian in my view. Such a transcendent comic, and yet was a courageous man in the face of his illness. 😢 RIP Norm, you made and left your mark! Deeply missed 😢

Good Riddance Norm MacDonald! Norm was a MAGA before Drumpf, he was anti-progressive, anti-LGBT, anti-Feminist, everything, a rank-neocon hack, and the only thing that he and his co-writer got fired over were O.J. comments. That whole era of trickle-down lies poisoned SNL to this day, and MacDonald was one of the worst bomb thrower's for it, just like Denis Miller, and look at the political beliefs of all those cast member from that time today and 90% or more are even more fascist now! Hollywood isn't WOKE at all, it's not for helping anyone but the wealthy tyrants.

Majority of people know names that are mainstream like Chapelle etc. while Norm appearances and shows are kinda niche, especially for younger audiences. Comedic genius yes. Guy who makes me laugh out loud(lol), often until it hurts, more than any other sure. A scholar and a gentlemen? I have no doubt about it. But most importantly, for me, the man who, when I’m watching him do his thing, never fails to keep the smile on my face the whole time. Through laughter and tears there is always that smile and I’m actually not sure that it’s possible for me to not have that smile on my face when I’m watching Norm no matter what’s going on for me in my everyday humdrum life. Amazing. God bless you Norm MacDonald.

Norm Macdonald's segment on the roast of Bob Sagat has to be one of the greatest routines EVER. The producers told him to be as raunchy and filthy as he could be, much like every other comedians they have on the roasts. So what does Norm do? He literally does one amazing old dad joke after another. Half the crowd has no idea what's going on but all the real comedians knew exactly what he was doing, he killed the room without using 1 cuss word or 1 dirty joke, absolutely classic.
