K I might ACTUALLY get Mario kart ( with dlc) after your statement of saying it helps when you're going through it...cuz the first time I've heard about this game being played through depression, was from Hasan Minhaj, one of my favorite all time celebs who joked about how he got stood up by a girl on prom night, instead played Mario kart....that game seems to really be a relaxing fun way to help ease people through dark times...im more of a single player, RPG guy, but that alone, is a great selling point ☝️

I started No Man's Sky on the Switch because of you and I love it! I play it as a very cozy game - I go around and collect my resources and build houses and decorate them and farm the plants available. I have been hunting down very specific planets and it is a lot of fun. It is so beautiful and so relaxing! Thank you for telling us about playing it!

I’m typically a cozy gamer but fell in love with Witcher 3. The combat is very accessible and there are A TON of cut scenes. Highly recommend reviewing/playing.

Great list! Mine is nearly identical - right down to Persona 5 Royal being my first Persona game, loving it, but still needing to finish it. I think the only changes I'd make for my list would be to take off Fire Emblem (great game - just didn't click with me) and Dreamlight Valley (not quite enough content atm to keep me hooked), and replace them with Rayman Legends and one of the Picross games. Rayman bc it's awesome and I still play it fairly often when I need to scratch that "platforming" itch, and Picross because it's been a primary go-to game for years now when I just need to unwind. That said, there really are a *ton* of terrific games on Switch, and you definitely did a great job whittling the list down to just your top few. Also, I'm still hooked on NMS. I quit checking my playtime at some point after 300 hours (on Switch alone, haha). I recently decided to try a few "Iron Man Challenge" runs just to see how far I could get, and I'm surprised at how much I've enjoyed the experience (even though I died less than five minutes into my first Iron Man run, lol). I usually play NMS to relax and unwind, and my primary save is still a "normal" run, but I love the fact that when I felt like adding a bit of challenge/spice to the game, NMS's options allowed me to do just that. Great stuff.

Love love ifr!! Surprised Eowana hasn't tried or mentioned it as yet! Since getting it for New Year, it's all I play and ubisoft had two great sales on it for main game, gold, season pass.

I adore Persona 5 so much now and thank you so much for mentioning it several times because that's what pushed me over the edge to get it (and it going 50% off). It's so special and I've never played anything like it before. I'm so excited to play Persona 3 and 4 once I finish 5, though I'm sad they aren't getting physicals for the switch. Did you pick up anything from the Persona 5 Royal x Game Beauty collab?

I have some reccs! These are more “mainstream” as far as cozy games but: To the Moon (Steam and Switch) Finding Paradise (Steam and Switch) Imposter factory (Steam only atm. I haven’t played this one yet but it’s the 3rd in the series). Rakuen (on Steam now, coming to switch in March). Newfound Courage (Steam)-has LGBTQ+ rep! Sumire (Switch) These are all about 3 hours long and are sad/moving but beautiful. I believe all are $10-$20 as well.

I also just started Rune Factory 4 so that I can get to 5 soon, started and love the Atelier Ryza and Atelier Sophie series, and I have No Man’s Sky on the way to my mailbox now. I have been so so so excited to play that game! If anyone wants a good and very interesting and entertaining history of that game, look up the No Man’s Sky game story by Internet Historian. It’s such a food redemption arch for the underdog story. I want nothing more than to support them and enjoy this game! ❤

The only thing about Beacon Pines is that there’s not much playability. The animation is very cute but it feels like a choose -your-own-adventure book.

Great video! My personal top 5 are Breath of the Wild, Xenoblade 2/Torna(I really didn’t like XC3’s story unfortunately ), Persona 5 Royal, Shin Magami Tensei V, and Fire Emblem 3 Houses. I love tactical RPG’s and seek out that type of gameplay so it isn’t that gameplay isn’t as important as the story for me. The combat in Engage is fantastic but the fact that I don’t have any connection to the characters means even with that excellent gameplay, I care less. I will absolutely finish Engage and enjoy every second of the amazing gameplay but 3 Houses brought story, connection, and gameplay. Engage only brings gameplay.

I watched my hubby play Beacon Pines on the Xbox and ohmygosh I can't recommend it enough. Such a wholesome game.. not gonna ruin anything but.. it has an amazing story. Highly worth it. I kinda hope the company makes another game. They did such a great job. Also Animal Crossing for life 😂💕 I've been playing since the GameCube. I love it haha

100% agree Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and Persona 5 Royal are some of the best and my absolute favorite games on Switch too. I feel you about Splatoon though. The game has a lot of issues right now and is more frustrating than fun right now unfortunately. Also thanks for the recommendation for Beacon Pines. I might have to check that one out.

What a great video! Need to check out persona 5, xenoblade 3, Kirby and 3 houses! My personal favs are Link’s Awakening, Mario Odyssey, Luigi’s Mansion 3, Mario Kart 8 and Pokémon Let’s Go!

Top 5 for me are breath of the wild, animal crossing, legends arceus, pokemon scarlet, and honestly? The spryro reignited trilogy. I know it's not a switch exclusive but I don't own any other console and I had so much fun replaying spyro, and being able to do it on the go.

My ultimate favorite right now is Kirby the forgotten land. I'm obsessed . I can't stop playing it. I'm probably going to repeat it from scratch so I can get everything 100% to reach perfection!! 👌🏻💖

I feel like you've missed parts of Engage, there are definitely supports, you can still get to know characters. The new update also added more "recreation" which is more ways to build support! It's not in the exact same way as Three Houses, but it's not like it's cut from the game. Also you can still romance people, but no spoilers. I also think it's important to note that you're probably gonna be more attached to characters you've known for longer than newer ones!

I’m 14 chapters in now, defo have my favourites but I think the big thing missing for me is the story branches? Like I feel like I’m watching the cut scenes less a part of them

The branching story is fun for me but I dislike how repetitive it makes the game personally, if you want to see the different endings you need to do the exact same thing 4 times and it does feel a bit overwhelming to me! Also, I feel like the branching stories definitely affected the quality of some of them a bit. I'd rather have less branches that are good! So like 2 branches for the storyline would be perfect for me. I'm a huge fan of Fire Emblem and love both games, but definitely feel like the best game would be a combination of the two... battles and mechanics from Engage plus branching story and characters from Three Houses, can you imagine...

Still really need to get Fire Emblem 3 Houses and Beacon Pines. Played a bit of Beacon Pines on Gamepass on my Steam Deck to try and love it though!! Absolutely love DDV, and do still have a place in my heart for ACNH though feel NL was more long term engaging in the end. I tried No Man's Sky very very briefly on Gamepass too and was a little overwhelmed so am going to have to dedicate a day to go back and try it again as it sounds really fun and can be made super chill like I'd love.

Yesss. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who cried with Xenoblade. I was absolutely TORE up. And I also laughed with how many times Eunie said something about a "body part" of the queen. I don't think there was a part she missed tbh lmaoo "Queens wings" "Queens teeth" "Queens baubles" "Where in the Queens royal robes could she be" 🤣🤣🤣

It's my go to family game every holiday, but barely gets touched when I am not at my friends or parents house!

Just playing through Kirby at the moment, amazing game and the graphics are just next level. No Mans Sky too, fantastic, just awesome

I picked up beacon pines because of one of your videos, and I have to thank you for that. It was such a beautiful game and it kept me captivated throughout. Such a fun novel concept too (at least to me)❤

Ok but seriously, I also haven't beaten Ganon and also forgot how to play so I completely understand the struggle. Also XC3 was amazing! Now in my top 3 of all-time.

Another fun game you may want to try and has a demo is Factorio its not too complicated to learn and you can build all you want.

My top 5 Nintendo Switch games that I’ve played are: Animal Crossing New Horizons, Beacon Pines, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2, Zelda Breath of the Wild, and Shin Megami Tensei V.

I actually bought a switch as a present for myself. My mental health is so bad that it's essentially non existent. I bought Zelda botw and animal crossing with it. It's such a good way to distract me when I'm really not doing well which is rare for me to be distracted :) Love your video's a lot since I love cozy games and you're soo nice to listen to

As this is 6 months old, a bit of an update on No Mans Sky. While it still doesnt have the same online functions like console and PC as in connecting to other players they have added the Nexus missions so we can earn the Quicksilver currency to get the special rewards like the Living Ship and cosmetics. I am very glad to see it on this list as I have to agree that its a great port and just good fun to play at any time since internet is not a requirement. It is a little janky with rendering things in and sometimes takes a minute but I can forgive it just due to the sheer size of the game and how many updates it has now. Also, as for my top 5 switch games as of this current release would have to include: No Mans Sky, Theatrhythm Final Bar Line, Tears of the Kingdom, Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth, and Monster Hunter Stories. I know some of the ones on my list are not super long or amazing but I love me some monster taming games (not including pokemon as theyve been a little meh since Arceus).

i just started re-playing BOTW for the same reason, i never made it to the castle and it's been like 2 years. i'm not anywhere as good lol.

Both mario + rabbids games! Very different take and the battles are puzzle like. I also really enjoyed a game called HUE, highly recommend if you have never played it before. Another good game that is FREE on the eshop is island saver. Right now I am obsessed with Spiritfarer, i play it way to much. I agree with what you said about splatoon 3.. i have not been feeling it like i did with splatoon 2. It just seems like everyone is SO good which means you lose all the time haha.

The Sparks of Hope one is on my list too!! I love the combination of a sandbox style map that you can explore and the turn-based battle which also needs a bit of strategy. It’s amazing!

I've started BOTW four times and still haven't "finished" it for the very same reason. Just can't make myself end it. Lol

Just bought my Switch and it came as a bundle that includes Kirby and the forgotten land and I am soooo excited to start playing it 😂

Top 5, that's tough for me. Fire Emblem Three Houses, without a doubt I am in agreement there. I love the Fire Emblem franchise. For my others I'll go with Animal Crossing, Hades, Monster Hunter Rise, and Octopath Traveler. I've only played Persona games on the Vita and Playstation - I'm also a big fan of Persona 5 and I highly recommend Persona 4. Amazing story and characters, check it out if you get a chance. :)

I wanted to love Beacon Pines & scooped it up on sale. But, the whole dead dad theme really triggered me. I ended up deleting it & wasted that money. Then there's the missing mom theme which can trigger people. I'm coming up on a decade without mine & I really wish I would have known this prior like your warning for Wilde Flowers.

I sadly can cover triggers for every single game I mention sadly (like for example I don’t mention it for all the farming sims that start with a family member passing away) I do apologise however 💜 I only mentioned it for Wylde flowers as at the time people wanted a review and I couldn’t bring myself to play it

I'm sorry for my comment & completely see your point. I was just upset as I know you love that game & I wanted to love it too, but it affected me a lot more than anticipated which is not on you. Most if not all of my games have come from your videos. Thank you for taking the time to respond. You're awesome & I adore you. I'll do more investigating from now on as they are my triggers, my responsibility :)

I am hooked on persona golden p4 at the moment have done this game for a bit all voice acting is amazing

New to your channel, which I LOVE. But as a cozy gamer, I was surprised you liked 3H so much. I liked it - but I find it so stressful - both in terms of work and tasks and having emotional connection to the characters. I like that in Engage the Somniel aspect is less demanding/integral to success, the characters all feel like they can take care of themselves, are very battle-hardened - and most are not teens or young adults. I almost had to psychologically dis-engage (no pun intended) with 3H to finish.

I also loved xenoblade chronicles 3 and I cried my way through the last 3 hrs of that game 😂 I’m a sucker for a gripping story! And in 3 houses I felt like what I did mattered, so I had to pay attention

I loved botw but I’m super bad at fighting and beating the temple challenges 🙈😂 I need to get it out again

Which should I get first? Three houses or xenoblade 3? I'm also thinking about getting P5R but I get the feeling that I'd enjoy it more if I played it on ps5

I’m a Pokémon fan. They are so cute! Arceus is my favorite because I was able to complete the Pokédex without trading. I used to love Animal Crossing, but I got bored with it. I want to try Breath of the Wild. My son loves Kirby, Pokémon, and Super Mario Odyssey.

Mario kart is my consistent top 3 favorite

missing super mario odyssey and DKC Tropical Freeze and metroid dread, and now a month after this upload, metroid prime remaster. easily would have snubbed a few games off this list for mario odyssey, mario 3d all stars, DKC, metroid dread, etc.

You should play persona 3 if you haven't already. It's more dungeony but the story is excellent. Also make sure you play Stein's;gate. Keep a tissue box nearby

I also feel like moving around is virtually impossible as I can't tell when I can walk in between things or not. if I had known it'd be free to play in the future i wouldn't have bought it now and instead waited, but oh well. you live and you learn
