I think we can unanimously agree that JD Motorsport’s #6 OOTG chevy driven by Brennan Poole is the best scheme this year.

The numbers moving forward ended up going way better than I expected. There were only a couple schemes that I thought were legitimately bad. Almost all the schemes were actually really good. A lot even gave me 80s vibes with the styles.

I found them all to be extremely underwhelming. They all looked like the generic ones you'd get in an early 2000's Nascar game.
As wild as this year’s been I kind of forgot how much everybody loss their minds about the door numbers😂
Wow- when Eric said how much he loved purple back at the start of the list, I was 100% certain Brad K’s Violet Defense #6 was going to be No.1. The black and the purple is beautiful and that day glo yellow with the chrome purple number. It really is 🤌🏻 I didn’t realize how much I liked purple cars until I saw that car.
Eric, are we going to get a Top 10 Worst Paint Schemes of 2022 since it's now with the Next Gen car?

Honestly remember the JTG test car that I think was at Daytona sponsored by Kroger I did not like that the number was not slid forward
The Dale Sr and Dale Jr throwbacks. That trackhouse ran were awesome.
Waited it for this since the beginning of the season Should have top 5 of trucks and Top 5 xfinity, then 10 cup and then put them all together, include all series multiple videos and then maybe do top 10 of the decades
Honestly, the Bristol M&M's Crunchy Cookie scheme is a top 5 of mine. The sky/baby blue as the main color feels unique and just the right amount of vibrant. The door space was used up well and ofc seeing it in victory as Kyle's last win in the M&M's machine on Easter, and it being the first win from KFB that I saw myself settles it. But that's just me

Reminded me of sterling Marlines usa flags 40 scheme
Kurt Busch had a monster green monster colored spoiler in the spring talladega race I believe
One of my favorite and one of the most underrated schemes of 2022 in my opinion was Kyle Busch’s Peanut Butter M&Ms Indy RC car. 90% sure it’s based off his 2013 peanut butter car, but I just love how the red M&M on the side has peanut butter for hair and also the M&M on the hood you can see the chocolate and peanut butter layers in the M&M. It was a great scheme and not many people know about it.
I don't care if you hate or love Bubba, his McDonalds scheme will always look better than what half the field has.
@shordiepjm

Like, BRUH😳😲!! I remember commenting under his IG post of its 1st reveal: "Your McDonald's schemes, while on 23XI, actually have the strong potential to become absolutely ICONIC over the years." .. And yep, this is my favorite ever McDonald's car of his!! (Plus, it tends to be SUPER fast😍.)
The Moose one is my favorite! I grew up in an orphanage that the Moose Fraternity runs in Chicago and is the reason why I followed and got hooked on this wonderful sport this year and your channel among others. The new car, the drama, and the Moose sponsorship all came together to allow me to enjoy NASCAR! Go Ross Chastain and to Christopher Bell whom is from my original Hometown!
Ryan Blaney's Advanced Autoparts black scheme reminds me of early 90's Rusty Wallace #2 Miller car. Just missing that blue.
The Advance car at #5 was a throwback to the Miller Genuine Draft car driven by Rusty Wallace in the early '90s.

Was going to comment this. When I saw it I went back to the early 90's.
Awesome to see one of my favorite Chastain cars get #2 on your list! My personal favorite scheme of 2022 was Ross Chastain's season finale car, because I got to see it in person and black camo works very well in my opinion.
How in the heck did Bowman's DC comics car not make this list even as an honorable mention?? That car was absolutely amazing!

Oh yes it was, those colours just popped.
my favorite is either the discount tire from cindric, or the menards blue def scheme from ryan blaney. something about that bright yellow is just so cool to me
Idc what anyone says , Harvick's graphics / paint scheme team is top tier ! They had so many amazing schemes and they never disappoint when they debut a new creative one
Awesome schemes you added! I made my list of my favorite schemes from each driver a few weeks ago and I've seen some amazing schemes this year! My favorite one I can think of this year is Ross Chastain's GoPro scheme, I absolutely love it!
Just started the video… but the number 6 castrol scheme FTW!!! Lol
My favorite 2022 schemes in random order (I love all of them): -Kyle Busch - M&M's peanut butter & throwback -Kimi Räikkönen -Daniil Kvyat - (Cup Series) -Kevin Harvick - Busch Bingo -Christopher Bell - Yahoo! -Chase Elliott - Hooters -Ty Gibbs - McDonald's (Cup Series) -William Byron - throwback scheme -Joey Logano - AAA Insurance & plain yellow scheme -Tyler Reddick - red Lenovo car
Logano also had a painted spoiler on the pennzoil car that wasn’t a playoff scheme like the Sunny D car. You gotta do the top 20 schemes from now on, too many great schemes don’t get looked at otherwise! Loved the vid Eric! 😎
I can't believe the M&M Crunchy Cookies scheme wasn't any where on the list

Blaney's BodyArmor Edge scheme at Talladega was my personal favorite -- gave me a Macho Man Randy Savage vibe. On the same line of bright colors, I also really liked the Cole Custer Dixie Vodka Miami scheme too. Chase Briscoe's Ford Performance scheme always seems solid as well.
The out of the groove paint scheme from the #6 Xfinity car was my favorite paint scheme
Glad to see gradients making a comeback. For awhile they were synonymous with bad 90s design, but they can definitely be implemented in sleek and modern looking ways
Favorite Post-Season Out of the Groove episode next to the Professor Estepp. Love these videos so much
The chrome #20 with the reflection of the black and yellow of the track is what got ya Eric.
That Hooters car this year is the first next gen car I’ve owned in diecast form!
Harvick had some amazing ones this year…..the Route 66, the Busch bacon car, the boosch Halloween car, and his Busch apple car with the blue trim….all really nice cars…..and Brad k had some amazing ones….sad none of em won a race….
I got over the number placement pretty quickly. We still got some rockin' paint schemes. Trackhouse and 33XI routinely had my favorites.
This is always one of my favorite videos of the year from you! My scheme of the year is Bell's Yahoo car.
So glad you liked the harvick gear wrench car I loved that scheme it was the first next gen diecast I got and I plan on getting the 1;24
I'm glad Happy's Gearwrech car made the list, saw it in person at Vegas, that thing was sooo sharp in the sunlight. My top 5 schemes has to include Blaney's Body Armor and the RFK Violet Defense cars. Those 2 are the only 24th scale diecasts I ordered this year. Solid list though!
Can we talk about that old Mayfield car and how GENIUS angling the logo was? It's literally breaking the 4th wall in that photo and increases the sponsor's exposure.
At New Hampshire, the #34 of Kyle Weatherman in Xfinity had a gradient Blue and Teal EPM spoiler
Well done. Nice job! Can you please do one for the Xfinity series as well? Also do a driver grade for Xfinity drivers? That series doesn't seem to get enough love, yet it's the most exciting to watch. Oh, and I guess we are calling them wrap schemes now, since no paint is really involved anymore?
Moving the door numbers forward took only a handful of races for me to get used to and it actually worked! There were so many good paint schemes this year that I liked, but it would be hard for me to make a case for many of them to beat out your list. (Maybe Chris Buescher's Fifth Third Bank car if they went with a better font). My top paint schemes have to be the 3 Penske Fords. Nobody looked more Next Gen than them. I would round out my Top 5 with McDowell's Love's scheme & Harvick's Subway scheme.
1. Brad had the best schemes by far 2. THAT BLANEY ADVANCE SCHEME MAKES ME GET INTIMIDATOR VIBES AND I LOVE THE SIMPLISTIC CLASSY LOOK

The Blaney car kinda reminds me of Davey Allison
The paint schemes were top notch this year. Better then the last several years.
Eric explaining the Sunny D car with the lines and the V.......no worries from dad if he was straight or not. 🤣🤣🤣
Honestly, Lefty nailed it with the Hooters car this year, the light blue touches arguably in line with the Spirits line really help highlight against the orange I'd say it's definitely the best along with Kulwicki's Underbird
A few notable ones that made my list: Bowman's DC Comics, Bubba's 9/11, Ty Gibbs Jordan car, Stenhouse Honey Nut Cheerios, Bubba Wheaties, Harvick Boosch, and The Money Team's paint schemes.
I have the Advent Health diecast as it was just delivered on Friday and OMG.... I love it!!! Looks great in the display case.
I really liked Buescher's Fifth/Third Bank scheme and the Violet Defense schemes RFK used
I kinda feel Chases regular paint scheme should of even been in 22 spot just for it being so iconic this season
Awesome footage! Really liked it! 😁👍
The red Busch Light 4 car that won at Michigan looked great.
The spoilers on the Next-gens were painted for superspeedway races. Some had a white spoiler, some had blue, and a few red. But most were black
Happy Birthday Eric!
The chase briscoe mahindra tractors was the best in my opinion.
The tootsies vars were amazing The blaze orange for bass pro never gets old for me same with harvicks orange busch scheme he runs at talladega in the fall just wish it had more orange this year the black 3chi car the red white and blue 16 car that ran at Texas and of course the unicorn on wheels the pit viper car were some of my favorites
btw eric you're getting close to 200,000 subscribers on your youtube channel keep up the great work dude!
I was inches away from Chastains kubota car when they were wheeling it onto pit road in Miami….it was so nice…..plus I was inches away from dillons huk Miami car, Custers Dixie Miami car and I gotta tell that Custer Miami car was one of the best I’ve ever seen…and the 45 Columbia car that ran in Miami with the swordfish on it….the fact there’s no diecast of it is criminal……some amazing cars this year from Columbia and no diecasts….
This isn't out of personal bias, but my favorite is Chase Elliott's NAPA car this year. They took full advantage of the extra door space and the extra stripe patterns make it possibly my favorite NAPA scheme ever.
A fun side note I got to see Erik Jones race a Arca Midwest late model race at the Milwaukee Mile Speedway earlier this year for Fathers Day weekend that was awesome Erik ran in the top 10.
The 62 Noah gragson car looked great in person and funny to see Noah in a old Wendy's fit he was in
Eric: When a car is on camera, that first thing you see is the front bumper. Daytona and Talladega: hahaha, hold my beer.
You left out Chastain's ACM Awards scheme from the spring Las Vegas race. Easily the best scheme of the year in my book! Also loved his Howler Head scheme from the Coliseum; would have liked to have seen more of it this season.
Love the Advance #12 car. Makes me think of their Ed Vance commercials.
There were definitely some good paint schemes this season one of my favs was the Monster Energy car and Harvicks Busch light primary
Denny's coke scheme had chrome numbers. And Joey's Pennzoil car had a yellow spoiler. I do like your list. Good variety.
From what i noticed the gibs cars ran different color spoilers at the superspeedways. Great video btw
I had to laugh at 13:05 Talking about Ty Dillon's car & how great the rays of sunshine look around the rear wheel. Meanwhile, the grille is bashed in & the hood is buckled!!!
I love Bowman's Nashville scheme, but I was kinda sad that his October Las Vegas scheme didn't even make the honorable mentions. I feel like that car didn't get talked about enough. The Ally logo was large and simplistic, and the pink lightning and white letters popped on the matte black. I'm also surprised that I didn't see Ty Dillon's Space Force #42 anywhere in this video. I thought that car looked absolutely incredible at Martinsville.
Blaney's Advance car has a definite Rusty Wallace vibe.
I can't believe that the #45 Jordan paint scheme didn't enter your top 22. It's one of the most cooler and youthful scheme I've seen in Nascar. Anyway, I love your content. Keep the good work.
A lot of cars had colored spoilers this year. Blaney’s BodyArmor had a yellow one. I know the Toyota’s like Kurt had green spoiler at the superspeedways.
Lawless Alan’s AUTOParkIt truck was easily my favorite paint scheme this year. That thing was beautiful.
Agree with you about Joey's Pennzoil scheme. The Blaney Pennzoil scheme looks good too
Christopher Bell’s yahoo car, that thing was BEAUTIFUL at the Bristol night race in person, that color is so amazing
The Logano scheme had a yellow spoiler (Vegas and Primary) and same with Blaney schemes, Cindric’s Menards/Quaker State had a yellow spoiler, and Stenhouse Sunny D
I love the Tootsie's livery of Chastain and Suarez and Gragson's Wendy's livery
That advance auto car gives me rusty wallace miller genuine draft vibes
Good call on the McDonalds car w/burger & fries on the sides. That was my favorite all year long.
For me 1, Martin Truex Jr Ovarian Cancer Roval car. 2,The 47 Kona Brewing car and rounding off the podium is Ty Gibbs Monster Camry as I know it’s just a black car but it’s simple and fits the Camry well just like the Furniture row car.
Trackhouse had some real bangers this year. I'd like to throw in the "Can't Stop Us Now" car from Dover with a nice black/orange contrast and Pitbull's picture on the side. I would've had the Wendy's car higher on the list, it definitely kept the $5 Biggie Bag on my mind all year.
Great video as always!
i recently picked up a 1:64 of Stenhouse's SunnyD car and Harvick's Mobil1 scheme this year
I'm still pissed off at Lionel for canceling Ross Chastain's GoPro diecast in 1/64 like what were they thinking?
I really liked Austin Cindric's black and blue Freightliner scheme he ran in the Clash.
@hunterdetres4963
Жыл бұрын
I agree. It was my personal favorite this year
Loved the Trackhouse American Flag car!
Eric, changing the color of the spoiler would probably be considered "modifying a single-sourced part". Considering most cars are wrapped these days, it would be too easy to modify the wrap on the spoiler to provide an aerodynamic advantage. I'm assuming to avoid this, NASCAR no longer allows wrapping on spoilers. Remember Denny and and Kyle getting disqualified after the July Pocono race this season because of some tape under the wrap on the nose of the car to "soften the edges". Also, refer back to 2017 when Chase Elliott was docked 15 points for a piece of tape on the spoiler. I remember the spotters on Door Bumper Clear talking about putting razor thin cuts in the wrapping on the spoilers a few years ago to create an advantage. I just don't think wrapping a spoiler is allowed any longer especially because so much of it is required to be see through.
My favorite livery of 2022 was The Clash scheme that Harrison Burton ran. Just the return of the Wood Brother's Racing gold door number.
The stuff on Logano's car is the same ridges you'll see on a Pennzoil bottle. Hence why I also love that car.
Ross Chastain’s Worldwide Express was my favorite of 2022, with his and Daniel Suarez’s Jockey cars a close second
I know there may be bias but Austin Dillon's Huk paint scheme from Miami was brilliant and fit for the vibe of Miami just like Cole Custers car that same weekend
I loved that Kurt Busch 45 scheme that Eric first showed.
I think honestly once I saw a full race with the forward placed numbers, I got used to them. The test cars looked strange as hell, but once full sponsor decals were added, I think it looks rather normal considering that the proportions of the next Gen are kind of different from previous years.
I’m not going lie, outside of JTG, not sliding the numbers for throwback weekend, and William Byron’s Raptor car, this was one of the best seasons I’ve watched where the overall paint schemes up and down the garage seemed flawless. I rarely looked at a car and didn’t like it. Although the branding isn’t as potent as the 90s and 2000s, the design level is almost matched. Either the race team designers went with a solid congruent style, or just completely was willing to risk it all with so much pop and bright colors and it worked more times than not. I wished the cars were painted like they were 20+ years ago, but this season tops last season without a doubt
I think that Advance scheme is my favorite basic scheme in like 10-15 years. It's perfect.
the 43 at times this year had the side skirts painted to match the car. Aso late in the year. They had the spoilers painted the blue of the car. Including the Cook Out Southern 500 winning car.
Got my shirt today it is awesome! And way softer than the official nascar shirts bravo to your shirt supplier.
