We often forget that everything amazing is very close, you just need to take a step! In nature, you feel life is real and you find peace in yourself. All problems seem very distant at this moment, and time seems to freeze! Good video, thank you for your hard work!

I love hiking in Germany! There is a paragliding location I did a quick visit to in one of my videos, but it was too windy that day. I will make another one when the weather is better. Germany and the Hessen region are my favorite place to hike!

I love you mentioned the Schluchsee, i had it in mind and thought this would be a great recommendation until you brought it up. I would prefer Schuchsee any day over Titisee, you have much more trails directly at the See and into forest and its much less crowded, while Titisee sits in that hole and is mostly populated with hotels and other touristic stuff.

Yes! I was there either in 1979 or 1980. It brings back so many memories. Can't go back now but it's great to see the vids and locate the rare German Restaurant or eatery here in Colorado. Perhaps I should do a video about that! In Sierra Vista AZ there was three wonderful REAL German Restuarants owned and operated by German women who followed their American Military husbands back to the USA. Tragically 2 closed because of the recession. I am fearful that the huge cultural changes the Far Left wants to impose is going to be the end of anything Northern European themed.

That's very nice! Germany has a unique appeal with its rustic restaurants and simple but tasty food, always in good portions :) Interesting how it made its way into Arizona! Hopefully, you'll get the opportunity to come to visit Germany again

I don't really like day hikes, are there good places to set up a tent or hammock for the night there? Like a longer hike of 2-3 days?

Hey Joel! As a general rule wild camping in Germany is against the law. That said, I have read about and heard from locals that a bivouac / hammock for a night is usually accepted unless the area is private or it is marked as strictly forbidden to do so. The truth is that it is a bit of a grey zone legally. I found an interesting article about it here, take a look: www.alpinetrek.co.uk/base-camp/wild-camping-germany/

@@outdoorworld5522 Thanks for the info and the link! I'll have to concider this. Of course I could just always go camping to some other country where tenting is allowed I guess :)

As he already said, it's not allowed. In the last few years we have a lot of tourists camping wild and not taking their trash or even whole tents with them when they leave. Many also are walking of the paths and destroying nature, disturbing animals which often sleep during the day and so on. That's why there are more and more rangers controlling the area. If they catch you camping in a "Naturschutzgebiet" (nature reserve), it can get very expensive (3000€ and more). The best thing to do is to find a farm which sells local products like honey, cheese, Schnaps, ... Buy a few things, be friendly to the owner and ask kindly if he has a place for you to enjoy his products and to stay for the night. Some will deny, many will allow your tent and some might even offer you a room for free in their old farm. In case you do not find a legal spot and no "Fremdenzimmer" in a small village, make sure to keep your camping site clean and try to not be too loud. That way you often get away with a little warning if a ranger, Förster or the police shows up. :)
