I've tried the octarine yesterday and the best feeling for me is that the cooldown goes under the ult duration of 5 seconds, so they are perma ulted. insanely good vs illus and purge items

That quick creep wave clearing with 1 spell ,reminds me of old damage kunka build. 1 tidebringer on creep waves. Even more satisfying with crits.

Super late game arcane blink would also be propably amazing with this build you get 5s cd on blink coupled with 3s cd on the stun.

16:00 that is so true. i'm a long time shard enjoyer and this build isn't new for me. but i never tried eul. i go assault so that my W is even amped more. now that i see this video, i think eul is legit.

This is 1 to 1 my build for earthshaker, excluding shard. Love it, it makes you soooo elusive.

been playing support slardar for years, 250+ games with 55% winrate, full kite/utility/speed/rotations to enable phys carries with ult and prevent escape. Glad the pros are catching up ;)

well, good to see you catch up, I always combo this with a Phylactery before shard and blink, because once you have that, you can be very annoying already. you have sprint and crush and you slow with phylactery+ult. This eventually turns into the build you are going.

Slardar is the one hero I can still consistently win with. He is so strong. He's so dominant in lane. And if the enemy safelane doesnt have a stun, you can just dive the tower.

I came up with a similar build to windranger with this euls and youre basically imortal, but the problem is that you can't kill nothing, only kait. What is more likely to happens is push the game for late game by kaiting the enemy and then the enemy finish the game because theire 6sloted and my team not.

Might be a bit unhinged but can you ever fit bloodstone into this build? I know some people have been going bloodstone on axe to make call more effective and this feels like a similar thing. The shard radius is 400, at 475 you hit roughly 1.4x as much area which is quite a bit. Plus the 500 hp makes you a good bit tankier. You dont really get much benefit from the spell lifesteal though but also it gives mana regen which does help?

I think you are not aware that Topson was really the first one to popularise this build by maxing stun and doing the whole kiting octarine core build.

I do 1141 into 1441 skill build. Max E to win lane then max W to farm fast. Item build pt echo blink shard bkb. Shard mainly to farm faster.

The problem is that slardar needs these items and levels. Even if euls is a support item, slardars base stats and abilities at low levels are just bad. I'd compare this more to playing dark seer. You're still the offline, but you play like a 3rd support.

BSJ. If you want the best Slardar experience before this patch, you HAVE to play with a Venge pis 4.

looking at the lv20 spike and 3 core items, i guess u still need some farm and xp priority. But I've played slardar 4 before, with tranquil and dagger. Plays pretty much the same, just blink stun and ult everyone. Not as legit as pos 3,, but there's some impact there. I prefer to have more util on pos 4 tho

I've been trying it. Feels really good when it works, because they have to deal with you in fights, so the enemy wastes all their spells on you while your cores clean up corrosive-hazed targets. Last two games I tried it though I got 1) my offlaner thought my pick was griefing, so doubled down on grief with offlane lion, and 2) pos 1 monkey king who goes revenant's brooch with slardar-venge supports (armor-reducing). So it might be better in 5 stacks that understand the concept

Idk about this one man. I think the euls for xxs was because he didn't think he could right click. If you can attack stuff then you should probably maximize that on this hero.

i get why you went octarine but honestly just watching the replay kinda shows why you dont need it, its cd is low enough to where you are not always using it when its ready because thats not what determines if its the right moment to use it. maybe for farming there is a case to be made but still feels greedy and not as impactful as getting a shivas or breastplate

Not really. The enemy has so many disables and like BSJ said, it buys him time to survive longer and kite the enemy.

i mean, aside from the additional movement speed, it’s also doubles as a survivability item. allows him to dispel frostbite, searing chain, and orchid. cyclone also allows him to delay the enemy hero that he catches while his team tries to catch up to him. the MS also allows him to easily avoid timber and tiny, and the mana regen allows him to spam crush.

How is uels redundant? It gives you both a ranged single target disable, or protect yourself for several seconds, once it becomes wind waker you get a several second save for your teammates

@@rainbowskin3379 the movement speed is redundant. The disable is redundant. The only thing you don't already have is a save for yourself. Unless you are playing against a troll, or losing against puck, getting euls is meaningless. It's not a useless item on slardar, but people have to be really careful when and IF they buy this.

Being able to just point and click disable a target is massive value against people with channeled abilities like enigma, wd, or like you said troll warlord. Is the item universally the best option? No. Is it niche? Absolutely not.

LS wants to stick to you and keep hitting you. Slardar can just hit creeps 3 times, hit LS for like 150 and get hit back for 50 or 100 if you make distance. If you're man fighting like a brain dead monkey maybe not (all in laning phase)

If you are trying to say work with your supp and etc, means you hero is not a counter to LS. LS dont care which skill slardar take, W or E you just dont win against LS and never will.

@@jackykong4542 Dota 2 is a team game. If you're looking at the game strictly as a 1v1, you're playing the game wrong. Unless you're mid vs an LS in the lane phase, you won't be 1v1ing.
