I painted my fireplace wall and an entry wall in Tricorn. I love this color!

Just started painting my bedroom this color!!!! So far i have my closet door inside and out, my tv wall and dresser wall painted. I ran out of this tricorn black so i have to get another bucket!!! I love it!!! I'm going for a chic, modern look! Possibly Escapade Gold on my ceiling and wall trims! 😍

Yes to reviewing great deep dark blue shades that work for doors. For instance is there a shade of blue for an exterior door you recommend with Marblehead Gold? Also, would love a series on color combos for the fifth wall I.e. the ceiling. Am flirting with the idea of a russet/rust ceiling and pale peach/ivory walls in a guest bedroom :)

I am looking to paint my brick fireplace in the family room black and I am so glad I found your video because TRICORN BLACK was one of my options. One thing that I still am not convinced is how the texture from the brick will impact on the color/shade I choose. Any tips/recommendations for choosing the best black paint for bricks?

What do you think the ceiling color should be with these two colors? Tricorn as walls and cold foam as trim?

@@konnorharrell6092 I have learned a bit more about colorb since my post, but I would think using cold foam for the ceiling and trim would work well. James pretty much explained that cold foam has a little bit of color (yellow) so it creates some nice complimentary warmth when pairing it with tricorn black. Having cold foam on the ceiling with a high light reflective value (LRV) will reflect some light into the space, so it won't be as dark if you paint the ceilings tricorn black.

@Matt Rihs thanks for the reply!! You answered my question well. Only thing is i am assuming at the end you meant the walls black and not the ceiling black? Also my room is fairly small, would you say it would still be fine to paint walls -> tricorn black/// doors, ceilings and trim-> coldfoam.. without making the room appear smaller? Also dod yoi go with this color way and if so what flooring would you think would work well? -Thanks for your suggestions man

I literally bought tricorn black in emerald urethane trim enamel in satin sheen just this past week and started painting my doors black. Love it! Don’t know about those colors but I’ll say this, get the blackest black you can get... I get the feeling an off black just wouldn’t pop as much

Yes, Satin or Pearl finish would work best in a contemporary home. Matte can look unfinished and is less durable. High gloss works for certain decor but it’s a very specific look.

I am painting my kitchen black (no upper cupboards) but lower ones are white. I am also wanting to paint the island green (it has a butcher block top). Now for the family room and living room which are fully open to the kitchen. One wall in the family room is a chalk board. Thinking sage for the rest. I am an earth tone person. Any other ideas? Hi there! Would you recommend Tricorn Black for a west facing garage door? I have pale yellow vinyl siding and I'm trying to decide between this color and Iron Ore. My concern would be the door getting too hot in the summer...

Well, I have a teeny, tiny home - so, it wouldn’t work for me. I would like to see you do blues - PLEASE- Palladian Blue, Wythe Blue, Ewing Blue & Chesapeake Blue. But this Tricorn Black would be great for an opulent bathroom with marble counters and such!

I have more experience with black beauty, but it really depends on what you’re painting and what it’s surrounded by. As for grand entrance, it’s purely personal preference, but why not take advantage of the gloss (assuming the door is in good shape)

My sample says HGSW1441 Tricorn Black. I am using this in my tiny house

I've got 5 gallons of tricorn black, a brand new sprayer, everything is all taped and sealed off...ready to rock black walls and ceiling in my living room!

On my front door what's Finish should I use with this paint?

Depending on the shine you like, maybe satin or semi-gloss because they are more durable.

Linda, I bought tricorn black for my interior doors and now my mother wants her island painted tricorn black to match her black appliances lol 😂 go for it

how do u seal the color so it doesnt get dirty. you can literally draw on it with your finger and see the skin cell line it makes. is their a topcoat to use. all the other colors dont do this

I am going to do the exterior all blk and I want so much to do most of the interior blk too. Have you many walls in your home solid blk? If so, what finish did you go with?

I used this color to paint a dresser for our nursery. However, every time I run my finger over it, you can see a whiteish streak where I ran my finger over it. Anyone else have this issue?

Hi Big, some paint manufacturers that claim their paints have better pigments and have less fading. In general, the three main colors that fade the fastest are typically Red, Yellow and Blue. Black should not fade as fast.

I have Tricon black all over my house

Watching because I’ve decided to paint window trim (outside) from white to black. I thought black was black.
