I have seen David 11 times live and have been to his home for 2 Barn Bash events. I have met him multiple times as well as his family so I am very familiar with him. In my opinion he is the greatest male vocalist on the planet and has been for the past 25 years. Unbelievable talent!

I am so jealous:). I live in NYC and would love to see him in person .. the closest I got was about 20 yrs also when Gaither Vocal Band was at Carnegie Hall in NYC and he was featured in Let Freedom Ring

I was fortunate enough to finally see David in person last year in IN. While he didn't sing O Holy Night and a few others I had hoped for, he did NOT disappoint. He was actually very interactive with the audience while giving an unbelievable performance 😊😊

Greatly appreciate your reaction! Couple of notes…it is not his tongue that is causing those moments…he talked about this during his masterclass in NYC…he is actually just changing his vocal chord approximation. His tongue position vary rarely changes. He also talks about his vocal chords…he has unique larynx in the sense that the back is shaped like a bari and his front is shaped like a tenor. Hope this helps!

I need to come in and explain something to you. David Phelps is anointed by God. He is a born-again Christian and the Lord Jesus Christ as anointed him and this is why this singing of this song touches peoples souls. He truly truly is anointed by God. Somethings that man can never absolutely never do. Zoe, great reaction/analysis. Please consider reacting to a very different arrangement of this song from David done in 2008 for his O Holy Night concert. As great as the version you’re reacting to today is (chills every time) I actually prefer that slower one. Absolute perfection. Love your energy and passion for singing.

Positioning my mouth and opening the pharnyx into a yawning position while smiling helps me raise my palate to keep my notes from getting flat. Also, whenever beginning a passage, take in a low breath like filling up from my diaphram to belly button helps me sustain a steady and on pitch vocal

It is likely that fellow Christians who will watch this may comment on your language. Please understand, while some may sinfully respond to your language, pointing it out is not done in a 'holier than though' or from a position of pride. A Christian is not one who simply picks a 'religion' and tries to obey rules. Not only are those two things not anything that can save anybody, they can be even worse in the attempt to earn righteousness, which we cannot do. The Christian is the sinner, the one who knows they are wicked, who turns to the living God, our Creator, Jesus Christ, the One this song is about, for salvation. It is not fantasy, it is not 'one of many religions', it is the truth, He Is the Truth. The eternal, almighty, uncreated Son of God took on flesh, became a Man, and gave Himself to pay the ransom to rescue sinners, to take the wrath we rightly and justly deserve for the evil we have done to the infinitely good and holy God, the only God. God Himself, in His love, did what none of us could do, would do, He paid the debt we owe, He fulfilled the Law perfectly, He died in the place of sinners, and as their guilt was placed on Him and He, in His perfect love, paid it in full, He credits to those who turn to Him in faith, His Own righteousness, the very righteousness of God, so that not only are sinners forgiven, but counted righteous as they are clothed with His righteousness. We can do nothing to earn salvation, to earn forgiveness, and we have no righteousness of our own. Yet He offers it to us freely, by faith in Him. Turn to Him! So when the one who claims to be a Christian but is not, and when the one who is actually born again, saved, says something about your language or responses from pride, as a hypocrite, which is evil, then that is of course sin. But others, such as myself, attempt to comment from a place of love for you in the hopes that you will repent and believe and be saved, and in love for God, as He is pure, and we are not.
