70 to 72 Ford pickups. Best looking trucks they ever made. Don't get me wrong, 66 was a nice truck and 73 to 9 looked good too. Even like the 80 to 86 if done right, but the early 70's ruled.

Those old 302's are stout. A little valve float was to be expected on carbureted engines. They'll put up with more than you think.

I ran a 351 W in a 69 Cougar xr7 for 2 years with 5 psi oil pressure at 5700 rpm, ZERO at idle, it was quiet. Sold it running to a collector.

@@skinmachine9718 didnt what? The latches on those trucks are junk. I've had 2. A1971 which the hood came up 2 times and a !972. The second time it blew up the paint wasnt even good dry from a complete repaint after repairs from the first time. The 71 had a 428 with a FMX trans.The 72 had a 302 3 speed.

Put all of you into it, use the best parts you can afford, try to do as much as you can yourself...it don't matter if it's not as good as some persons check book " I only paid the labor " car. The window design on those trucks with the little vent you could open for airflow was the best design for a pickup. Nice truck!

You need to install a choke cable so you can flood it a bit and throw bigger flames. Also can put a spark plug in the exhaust to help ignite it.

Reminds me of my old 69 F100. It had a built 429, with a built C6 and a 9" with 3.89 gears in it back in the early 80s. It was my "Corvette Killer." Corvettes back then were pathetically slow, but it still had to hurt when an old Ford pickup blew their doors off. LOL!

I love it! I have a 71 long bed ranger xlt with a 390, same exhaust exit before the wheels. If I stomp it quick to floor a couple times then rev it out it shoots great fireballs!

Awesome truck Bro and thanks for sharing your video when I was younger my friends and everyone really used to drive to the town just down from our little town and they had what they called Cruze night and everyone who had anything on Wheels was their anything cool or fast every make of car's you could think of it was alot of fun Loads of fun but it's been shut down now for probably 20+yrs I'm 45 now and would love to see it come back. And for what shut it down was their started being at least one fight i think the back yard fighters was trying to get recognized and of course the people drinking and abusing drugs in public so it got all shut down sucks but i got to enjoy alot of it. I wound up here after looking for a Ford Courier. I'm an import guy, but wanted a cheap simple truck with a bed for engines, transmissions, IKEA runs, and just general truck things (drive an MR2 and the gf has a Miata so even Costco is a challenge. Your truck is awesome. I get the appeal of old American trucks. Courier, Comanche, and VW Rabbit truck are on the short list. Not quite as cool as yours, but only American thing I've owned was a Cherokee. I'm actually pretty excited.

Need full 3" to really make it sing. Alot of people down that way can't have full straight pipe plus a carb no matter what you'll have flames. There's good quality straight pipe and then there is the highschool way.

Sick truck. I run a 88 bronco on 18x39.5x15 swampers, lifted ten inches, 408 stroker Windsor with good old 4 spd. Sits on 1990 f350 axles. My daughter is about to begin building a 78 Bronco, 302 ,4spd, no lift but stuffing 315×70×17 all terrians on 17x10 wheels. Full resto build coming up
