This was super helpful. I just bought the deck today because I love the artwork and its inclusive diversity, but I wasn't sure how to approach it. Your notes for re-organizing the cards in a way more meaningful to you were brilliant, and I will be doing that for myself as well. Thank you. I find so many oracle decks suffer from repetitive key words/sentiments. And yet so many feeling states are not addressed, often the more difficult ones. The art is beautiful, vibrant and joyful. I just wish the connection to the process of reading with it and the key words were stronger. I also hate it when decks are not numbered. Super annoying and does breaks the spell so to speak when I have to figure out which card I am looking at. In my opinion these issues are a big deal. You are very diplomatic. And I enjoy hearing your thoughts as always. :)

I love Elisabeth Alba's art but when I watch walkthroughs of this deck, I just feel a disconnect to many of the cards and that's been hard to understand but your review has clarified for me why I'm hesitating in purchasing the deck and also got me intrigued by the system. So I'm still not sure about it, for now I think I'll just continue enjoying the Tarot deck. I enjoyed the review :)

Thank you so much for this thorough and honest review! I was finally enabled by you (😉) to get the Everyday Witch Tarot and I'm loving it. Of course it made me curious about the oracle as well. I think I may pass on it for now because it seems like it would be a bit confusing for me. And like you, at some point I always want to be able to put the guide book aside and just build a relationship between me and the cards. Of course the artwork is awesome, but some of the cards you showed also left me scratching my head as to what they could mean.

What a great review, Juli! ❤️ I was also a little surprised by the way it was structured. I was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to work with this deck at all. That ended up not being the case as I felt I received great and applicable messages when I drew cards...but I did have to rely 100% on the guidebook because the key words/phrases just don’t help me intuitively connect with the card. Nicely done! 🤗

Thank you for this review Juli 💜 I decided not to get this deck. The artwork is gorgeous, but there is something lacking (for me personally) that I can't quite put my finger on. and there is always the Ravenswand or the Witchlings deck if I want a witchy oracle. 💜🖤💜🖤

you are right - i bought it and was not happy i did - i dont find it to be very accurate

Thank you for the nice review. I have it and sometimes I get confused to which element a card belongs. Is it Air? Or Fire? Stars card could be Fire because of the sun burning but finally its Air? Otherwise, everyday spells that notebook gives are perfect practice and helpful the information given. I use this deck dearly, it is soooo witchy 💜

I have been trying and trying and TRYING to figure out why I just haven't been able to pull the trigger on this deck, but I think you nailed it. The artwork is absolutely delightful, but the keywords don't quite hit for me (such a personal thing, eh?) and the lack of suit identification on the cards really does make it impossible to utilize the system to it's best benefit (an alchemical element symbol would be all that was needed, so it's a shame it wasn't included!). Oof. Thank you for taking the time to work with this deck and share such a thoughtful and thorough recap of your experience. It was really your opinion I was waiting most for and now I feel confident taking this off my wishlist. :)

Thank you, Kleri! It was still nice to have the opportunity to work with it for the time I did. If anything, it helped clarify what I need in an oracle deck for it stay in my collection.

I'm someone else who has hesitated over this one, like Penny Jane your review has clarified this for me. I do love my Everyday Witch Tarot and want to love this too, but ... The artwork is wonderful and I'm sure I'd enjoy looking through it from time to time, but would I use it enough to justify buying? I doubt it. Perhaps one day? Isn't is strange that the banner at the bottom of the cards has a place on the left & right perfectly suited to an elemental symbol and a number? I have to wonder whether that, as well as the "full color book" that is advertised on the Llewellyn website AND on the guidebook was simply left out! I think the production could have been much better, but the card system, art, etc. are great :)

I just bought the Everyday witch tarot . And i connected with them. I love the artwork and their connection. I ordered the same in the Oracle deck. hope I can connect with them. Awhile back, I ordered the Treads of fate oracle, which are beautiful but too expensive!. I would get frustrated because I did not connect with them at all. I now have a 75. dollar oracle deck, I don't use. Thank you for sharing your insight.

When my pre-order for this deck got cancelled I was so disappointed but then as I watched walkthroughs I began to wonder if it was for me. I think, after watching your review, I am going to take this one of my wish list. It just isn’t resonating for me at all. Thanks for taking the time to work with the deck and for doing this in-depth review. 💜 Btw I am currently re-reading The Goddess is in the Details by Deborah Blake and I would highly recommend it. I may do a review on my channel when I’m finished with it.

Unfortunately, scan/QR codes are a sign that the deck is a counterfeit copy 🙁

I had similar experiences with this deck. It just wasn't what I expected I suppose. I will try working with it again and see if I can connect with it better.

Thanks for sharing this. I've been thinking hard about getting an oracle deck and this helped. For me, numbering is super duper important for a deck that has a reference book. I love your little journaling work with the deck; I believe that will help anyone who has the same oracle deck. It's not one for me right now, and I really super appreciate your authenticity at the end

This deck is so beautiful, but for me as a beginner, it doesn’t help me so much to understand what the cards want to say. As you said, it really bothers me to read the guidebook every time :) is there any video of yours that can suggest me some good decks? :)

Since I don't have many oracle decks and tarot is my main jam, Katey Flowers, Maven Unmasked, and Imogen Walters are just some of the many channels I'd recommend and recall discussing oracle decks for beginners. For myself, my process for choosing an oracle deck is by finding a walkthrough on a deck that interests me and 1. making sure I love the art and 2. paying special attention to the key words and seeing if they elicit any instant reactions for me. That usually gives me an indication of whether it's a deck that I can use off the cuff without having to rely on the guidebook. Thanks so much for stopping by Barbara!

Thanks for sharing! I've not looked into this oracle much but it's far more structured than I imagined! I do like a structure... unless it doesn't work for me, haha. I think I'd have written numbers on if I had this one... though I tried to write numbers on my Soul Cards and the marker didn't stick. Oh well. My current favourite new oracle to my collection: Dreamtime Reading Cards. I'm in love!

Yeah, sometimes the card stock is so difficult to write on! I just ordered a couple paint pens because I hear they do the trick. We'll see! Dreamtime Reading Cards--that's definitely a Laura Deck, so I'm not the least bit surprised! I'm so glad you're enjoying them. Can't remember if you have the Saltwater Cards as well? If not, do you plan to get them?

@@Peekaboorose I got the Saltwater first, and love them. I often switch decks each month but those I worked with for most of the summer because I just didn't want to stop! I feel like Salt Water might be my Pisces soul deck oracle-wise... Laura Bowen's decks, and the books, are just really special I think -- the first reading I did with the Dreamtime Reading Cards, I got ... a little weepy, which is not like me. Most oracles I want to use without any book but not these - I read the book every time. So... What are these paint pens?! I think I may just need to order a few too because I'd totally use my Soul Cards more if I could number them (just for my own reference for journalling, to know which I'd drawn if I look back later).

@@aquamarine18 See, that's what I want: an oracle deck that can make me weepy! Alas, I haven't found one yet that I can connect to so deeply. The search continues. I ordered a pack of uni Posca Paint Markers (gold, silver, white, black) from Amazon, since it's a brand other deck modders have mentioned. I wanted an extra fine point, so I got the .7mm nibs. Fingers crossed that they work!
