Thanks so much for this. I'm 6 weeks PP and I just started getting this rash on my tummy and hips and it is immense the itch. But if I itch it too much it stings. I literally just googled "sudden rash on tummy after pregnancy" and that's how I found your video. I have heard of PUPPS before but NEVER after birth. Especially 6 weeks on. Luckily I have a dr appointment Monday morning, hoping to find some relief soon! Glad that medrol is safe in nursing also!

I had my baby almost 4 weeks ago.. I started to get a super itchy rash that started behind my knees and moved to my knees, my elbows and now my arms and legs.. I’m miserable 😓 I called my ob but they said that I should contact my primary care. I just need something for it to go away! I bought Sarna and it helps a bit as long as I don’t itch at all but it’s so hard.

Oh wow! I just stumbled across this video while trying to find info on pupps. Our stories are very similar. I had an emergency c-section almost 4 weeks ago and developed pupps post pregnancy too :( I've had it for four weeks now and I think I will ask my doctor about the Medrol pack......this rash is just horrible! I've never experienced anything so itchy! Thanks for the info!!

Marianne M Oh gosh I am so sorry to hear that!! It is the WORST!! Yes, def ask your dr about it. I was trying everything on my own before trying a medication but then when I spoke with my Dr she assured me I would be fine to take the medication. I got really nervous because I'm breastfeeding but she said it fine. I was SO uncomfortable and literally in tears because I knew I couldn't go on like this so I was desperate to try anything. It was also hard for me to find a lot of info online about it because mostly I was finding information about it during pregnancy but not after. I hope that you can find some relief soon!!! I feel for ya!! Congrats on your baby!!! :)

Hi:) first congrats on your new baby!! I'm so sorry to hear about your wife and the horrible pupps rash!! I feel her pain and feel so bad she has to experience that with a new baby. My Dr prescribed me the Medrol pack. It's like a Z pack. You take 6 pills one day, then 5 the next, then 4,etc... Until u finish the pack. I think I took this for 6 days. I tried EVERYTHING and this is the only thing that helped ease the itch and make it go away. She should call her dr and ask about getting this. My dr also said I could continue breastfeeding while on it....not sure if your wife is. Hope this helps!!

My baby just turned 6 months and I have had this major rash and it’s been freaking me out. Thank you for sharing your story. I wonder if I’m one of the rare ones who gets it after as well.

Sorry to hear you are dealing with that! Hope you heal quickly!! 6 months postpartum seems really late for that type of rash- I would recommend seeing your dr if you haven’t already so you can get some answers on the type of rash you have.

I experienced the same thing 10 days after vaginal delivery of my first child (a boy). I have a friend that also had a child a week after me and she got it post pregnancy too! Mine lasted about 2.5 weeks, the steroids didn't really help. Lidocaine cream numbed it so that I could fall asleep. But ice packs were great relief too. The rash was worse than giving birth and all of the recovery too!

Cynthia Perez Hi Cynthia, about 2 days after the rash developed I went to the doctor and started steroids. They lasted 5 days, and since it still had gotten worse, they prescribed another 5 days of steroids. It finally went away a few days after both cycles of the steroids, It didn’t seem like they helped at all.

Apply aloe vera with turmeric mixture all over. Leave it for 10 mins then take bath in hot water trust me it works. Do this continuously for two weeks u can see the changes. If possible avoid using soap rather use gram flour with turmeric, it will soften your skin as well as help you out from this itching. This is the best natural remedy which worked on me and my doctor suggested this which is safe during pergnancy.

I’m currently experiencing this 4 weeks postpartum. It’s absolutely miserable. I tried everything and ended up begging for steroids. How long did it take for the steroids to work for you? They are helping a great deal but I’m wondering if it’s normal that I’m STILL itchy (not nearly as bad as before) even after starting the steroids.

Hi :) I believe it was a lotion called Sarna. However what cured my specific rash postpartum was a medication from my dr. It’s the only thing that finally gave me relief! Best to call your dr to see what they recommend, especially if you are breastfeeding you want to make sure you take something that is safe. Hope you heal quickly!

I just gave a vaginal birth 7 weeks ago. I developed a rash about a week after. I am finally starting to get some relief. The it's is still there but not as intense. Everyone keeps telling me I'm crazy for thinking I have PUPPPS, because you can only get it while pregnant and not postpartum. Thanks for this video. How long did your rash take to completely go away?

  • @babynicohaus4759

You can for sure get it postpartum! It didn’t take too long to go away but that was only after the medication that my dr prescribed started to kick in. The prescription saved me or else I would have been a mess. That rash itches like crazy and when you’re a new mom that’s the last thing you want to deal with. Hope yours heals soon!!!! And you get some relief

Yep, watching my hives inflammation fade day after day until they completely vanished was such a relief, I went with what I pointed out and within the first 10 days or so the urticaria/angioedema was barely visible! I just go'ogled the latest by Shane Zormander and after 20 days my skin has never been healthier!
