No it's not. Not at all. One person is almost always still in love. Only young inexperienced people can think this is a good idea. If you're the one who still loves, then you only meet because you're trying to link up again. There's no other reason to call such a meeting. If you're the one who doesn't love the other person who did, then you're giving them false hope, or you ensuring you're going to do it to them again.

If you can talk like this with your ex then that means you did something right. To me a bad breakup means that there was always a hostile element in the relationship to begin with. They both thought fondly of each other... neither of them fumbled one another, I think. They just weren't right for each other at that moment and that's how life played out for them... We both watched the same vid, right? In life, you'll often encounter someone you don't even realize COULD possible be your best match as a significant other (I'd use soulmate, but it holds a bit more weight and I don't think it's needed) , but the circumstances; ie time, place, situation, etc... can often change your perception of someone you find attractive... or something.
