omfg this is amazing, this is one of those things that i will only appreatiate and never end up trying...😅
So cool. You might be able to limit some of the static issues with running some ground wires to each panel to give the static somewhere else to go. Single mode fiber optic cables are cheap and can replace the wires between the panels by using LEDs and Photo sensors to turn a bit high or low.
Try using a differential signal for each of the "Ok" high signals. It should reject antenna noise quite well.
I played an escape room recently and thought "wow, alot of this would be easy to do with arduinos"...thanks for showing us this!
