What a crazy fishing session out on the patch reefs. Tons of small fish, a grouper and to end it with a yellowtail snapper catch and cook.
Looks like I need to kick off some of my rust and get back to catching big fish here on the South Florida Fishing Channel!

What a pain in the butt, some money, and still pain in the butt, good luck on the problem.
Don’t forget to replace the carpet on the trailer.
That’s the beauty of the channel
That was a Nassau grouper not very common to catch but really cool!
We absolutely love your enthusiasm. I wish there was a way for you to trade in that dang engine. Ernie and I get so excited with you and then , bam, engine acts up. You deserve a reliable engine so you can fish your brains out and share with us. Keep those video’s coming. We love them.

Yeah he probably should have went with a Yamaha or Suzuki over that BRP Evinrude. Back when Evinrude and Johnson were owned by OMC they were pretty good engines. But now that OMC is long gone and BRP owns Evinrude I probably even would have gone with a new Mercury over that Evinrude because thats BRP's first shot at buulding an outboard. So anyway I waited awhile and see how they did first.
ELLIOT IS HALLARIOUS,I remember very well when you found him on the island Pick nick if ok, and you brought him home. Rescued Capt Elliot. Loyal Cat!!!
I'd check your fuel filter and then fuel pump. Or the electrical might be glitching, sensor or computer. Humm low temp sounds false and glitchy. Also vacuum leak, but I don't know your engine at all, so ... There is also an Italian Tune up, which means go balls out for a while to get things running and carbon burned and blown out. Works on cars :))
A lot of people don't know if you put transmission oil on the springs thay will last longer an not rust up 🙋🎣tight lines
3:33, got me chuckling this morning.
Ahh, fuel restriction, change the filter between the pump and injectors (maybe even if you have one before the pump). Any work on the fuel stuff can leave particles that don't make it through a fuel filter. The surge can come from pressure building then pushing a bunch through. Could be injectors dirty too. I worked on Jet engines and some on cars so I'm not a boat motor wiz, but pretty good at general trouble shooting.
ur videos make me never want to own a evinrude LOL..tight lines brother love the videos

I'll give ya a great deal on mine. CMON!
Hell no I hope you don’t break down, I want to see the boat back off shore! Put that boat back in the shop Heiko while it’s still under Warranty!
Heiko get ahold of the “born again boating” guy, he seems to really know his shiznitt.
Check your vent line. Mud dobbers made a nest in mine one time and gave me fits trying to figure it out.
Nothing beats a celebratory egg!!!
Looks like a nassau grouper.

Boat looks Great No let's Go put some fish to sleep and in the kitchen with some new recipe! Awesome SFFC Boat Love my new PICIFUN Spinning Reel! Just got my new line cutter in the mail today! Sounds like it's sucking some air maybe 1 of the recycling tubes is not connected
Tip for the trailer wash down. Bring a pump sprayer with a splash of salt away. I hit the trailer with it after I launch so that it’s not soaking in salt for hrs.
That was a Nassau grouper bro, awesome catch!
I know the feeling and the happiness you are feeling with a better running friend like you have , I love my boat
There is never water at park. Not even to clean your fish. I always bring a few gallons of fresh water just to rinse stuff off. Nice wrap!
Heiko the spike in rpm due to low fuel pressure is because you still have all the oxygen you would for normal operation but you are burning lean thus the fuel burns faster causing surging. Like if you are trying to tune for more power you typically lean out the fuel so it burns faster and more complete for the air charge if you throw off the air/fuel ratio it can cause those things.
28:52, wow, I have to compliment you on the way you handling this. I would be sooooooooo pissed and everyone in the boat would know it. Wish I was better about those kind of things.
Nice to see the steering fixed and you get so excited about being out again. Start with the basics. Good fuel, fuel filters, properly vented fuel system. And don’t forget the spark plugs on those Etecs are “indexed”. Cant just throw anything in there any which way. Best of luck. Get’er rippin and give us some classic content.
check your grounds....make sure the wire under the insulation isn't corroded. Nice to see the end of The South Florida Hitchhiking Fishing Channel...
That large patch of floating seaweed looked great for hiding mahi mahi.
If its fuel injected its probably a vacuum leak somewhere. If its carburated then its probably a pinhole in your fuel line somewhere allowing it to suck a little bit of air.
This guy is living my dream on a budget.
DUDE,just a suggestion, check your upper station Benickle " shift" see if the same crap is happening up there. Might be where your problem is. I'm sure by now you have checked with your buddy the MECHANIC. HOPE ALL WORKS OUT,YOU HAVE WAITED TOOOOOOO LONG BROTHER TOO LONG !!!
oxygen sensor on my boat Similar symptoms. But I have a Honda 250. Was fine at high speeds.
The ninja hands are always my favorite!! So pumped bro! Love it
check fuel quality and fuel filters. take sample in clear glass jar. check for water in fuel. water will seperate from the fuel and sit on the bottom. replace filters first and make sure fuel is fresh.
Good thing you got that free check-up. Looks like they missed some problems. Hope you get it all worked out and stay on the water!
That Land Rover pulling that big boy around with easy! Happy to see you happy!
Geez man your boat needs to be at the repair shop the engine problem needs to be fixed now!
Great to see the boat is back!
Heiko, try putting fuel injector cleaner in your gas tank….Might be injectors are a bit clogged from sitting a few months. FYI, i'm a veiwer not a mechanic:) Good luck...
I'm not sure if with boats, but I know some older car engines with computer controlled fuel systems when they get certain fault codes like crank position sensor fault will put the engine in limp home mode. The engine will run fast enough for you to drive slow till you make it home or a garage. After shutting the engine off, the car will not start unless the fault clears.
Happy to see you got your boat back in the water good luck 👍
I thought the Marina took her for a Sea trial and said everything was good. Is the surging normal? I like how your videos tell a story. I have no clue how you keep up with footage like that. Keep it up man, were watching and learning!!
We have a 250 HO. When we have those problems it is usually a bad injector. We have had to replace several.
Good video Heiko ! Your boat looks AWESOME my friend. I never really see it out of the water , THANK you Frank from montana.....
Bring a small pump sprayer in the rover with water a little salt away and spray down the trailer parts after you launch and recover. No more worries
Nice Heiko! Engine may have gone into safe mode due to the faults you had. Turning it off and back on without issues reset the computer. I had that on a Yamaha with there was low oil in the main tank. It was two stroke, it acted just like that. Also happened once with a fuel filter issue (under the cowling) Good luck dude!

Yes when he said that about the dead battery ! Change battery and do a reboot on system ?
It’s probably the gas. If it sat for a long time with fuel in the tanks the gas might’ve went bad and that can cause those problems

Or the trip there and back stirred up sediment in the tank.
Love your videos Glad to see you have your boat back.
I'm happy for you, glad to go off shore again!!!😁
None of my biz, hope you gave them ,we'll, never mind not my place to say, other than, S URE AM HAPPY TO SEE THAT BOAT BACK, THATS HALF OF. SOUTH FLORIDA FISHING CHANNEL!!! LOOKS AWSOME HEIKO!!!!! GET FISHING BROTHER!!! WAHOOOO!!!!
The boat looks so good!!! Awesome video for sure. Get your net!!! Lol
Hope the boat starts working better. Glad to see you back on your boat!
Aww so happy for you man !! Looking forward to some awesome fishing videos , fish on!
I would sail with Cap'n Elliot ANYWHERE lmao.
In my opinion you should use braid line❤
Awesome boat
So this may sound nutty. When you’re going over 2k RPM the fuel pump or delivery system is not having issues supplying fuel due to the higher RPM. But when your going below 2k RPM the fuel pump or delivery system cant keep up due to the low RPM which causes the surge in the RPM. I can’t say what the part is or what exactly is causing that issue but it most definitely sounds like a fuel related problem.
Happy Birthday Heiko Happy 4-20 Daze😂
Super glad to see the boat back running. I bought a carbon 2000 reel it should be in tomorrow can’t wait to put it to work
A-10 Warthog also know as the Thunderbolt. One badass plane
My man you back in the water Yeah boy!!! 👍
As fas as protecting your trailer, carry a one gallon spray bottle in your tow vehicle with fresh water and salt away mix. Spray that on your wheels, springs and brakes when you do not have a fresh water source.
Had a similar issue with a Mercury. Clamp that held throttle cable had broken.
Now that I see the end of the video you don’t want to bring it in anywhere my opinion would be make sure you have all fresh new batteries in good condition take care of all the maintenance replace the thermostat replace all the water separators and water filters being the boat sat for a long period of time you might have water I. The fuel. Fill the tanks with ethanol free or the best octane you can get and run it through see if that helps with the upgrades. If you know someone with a scanner to clear your codes after the repairs see if anything comes up. When you do the batteries make sure there is no corrosion and or loose connections.
🤘🏻😎🤘🏻 Awesome stuff dude We’ve been waiting a long time to go out on that boat that you’re those were the best yellow tail snapper’s ever
Put some carpet on them bunks. Throttle position sensor
That’s basically a new outboard you really gotta get that checked or get a Yamaha!
Great to see you back on the water in your boat! Hope you get that trottle issue sorted out asap! 👍👍

Looks like it's in limp mode. The engine is not allowing you to go past 1400rpm because it has faults. It's so you can limp back and not be stranded without damaging the motor. A TPS could explain the intermittent reving. I'm guessing it's throttle by wire, not cable. It appears you have a failing sensor. But I'm no Evinrude mechanic. Any mechanic with a scan tool can tell you. But it sounds like it will be covered under warranty.
We all call it the “Blue Bridge”. Or at least all my folks.👍🏼❤
Heiko. That boat and that truck of yours are money pits !!!!!
First replace battery, these motors and very electronic and require a steady flow of power. Second buy a clear tube of 3/8 fuel line or any major hardware store sells something. Add it after fuel filter and watch it while running if your getting air in the line then bingo you've got an issue in the fuel line or tank. Good luck
Can't wait till next episode
Hi from Nashville Great video as always
Sure sounds like a fuel management issue. Like even a fuel injector. Too new to have issues. I'm really liking these Picifun reels. So light, smooth and great drag. That Alijoz 300 is so much like the Daiwa Lexa 300.
Another great video again love the energy keep up the good work.
Great video as always. And you said you so happy to have boat back. Hell we happy that you got your boat back . Ripping lips and taking names. 😅
Living the life down there!!! Id love to go fishing there hope ya get the engine issue resolved!!!
I had a boat once that I towed with a Dodge Dakota pick up truck and occasionally it would overheat , especially long distance and with the Air conditioner running . I had a transmission cooler installed on my truck , sort of like a radiator for the transmission , and it solved the problem . Same boat had a problem when I got it that when you cut all the way down on the throttle from full throttle and then gun the boat off . It would be impossible to start . Turned out that it was causing a fuel line vacuum when you shut it down like that, and so when you tried to restart it it couldn't get fuel .
I love Ande line!!
Great video! so much going on!
Anytime to get an error or low oil. Engine goes into Limb mode so you dont damage engine once you turn off it reset and allows you to get more power. Change out your battery low voltage to engine can be interfering with the computer
Hey buddy, I appreciate you you help me get through that whole pandemic. Our great governor in Washington state canceled fishing of all things than watching you for quite a few years and also I cut out all the processed food since January 1 and lost 20 pounds and I feel great to keep up the good work buddy. Cheers.
My engine was crazy with error codes for over a year, the gage on the dash was sending false signals to the engine. I changed it and all is good.
Replace hose from tank to engine they can knk when get couple yrs old especially if they didn't put an extra foot or so
Clean the gas filter it’s in the cabin . I’m pretty sure it has two gas filters a big one and a small one
Did you tell them about that issue at the marine place??
IFFF I MISS THE BOAT I CAN IMAGINE HOW HAPPY YOU ARE BROTHER CONGRATS 💙🍻🎣😎 fishhhh on fish onnnnn
Heiko…..I know you use to have a Mercury on the boat before you upgraded to the Evinrude……did they change your fuel line and do you use non-ethanol fuel……I had similar issues with the idle speeds of the motor……turned out to be the inner liner of the fuel line from the tank to the motor was deteriorated which clogged the fuel pump and filters……check your filers for a gel looking chunks in it……if there is….replace the fuel lines, filter(s) rebuild the fuel pump……I did this and my boat ran like new again
Ugh... Nothing like getting your outboard back and having it throw codes, stall, and run rough. Not so sure I'd trust it. Now, as far as dealsinthed.... If you're coming up here for a new ride, maybe we can get out on some fish here.
High-co! On an Evinrude if you ever get a low oil alarm, the computer will still let the engine run, but only to a maximum of 1400 RPM to allow you to get back to the dock. If you think the low oil alarm was tripped because it was tilted to high, then turning off the engine and turning it back on resets the CPU. It’s not a problem with the engine. It’s done by design.
Happy Birthday Brah
I gotta go with you brother! Happy for you dude!
Look at your fuel pick-up tube. Our Evinrude had the same problem. We had it fixed in a about 10 minutes give or take. If you have a power pack not sure you do. Have the power pack checked. Ours was a combination of the 2.
Love your channel man ....your literally living my dream life !! Hahahaha...
I see that Giant XTC. Doing a single track video someday?
time to upgrade for real, that engine is already giving you the signs, just listen to it.
It's the low battery, bad or low batteries cause all kinds of dumb issues. With as much computer technology in anything new a sketchy battery will present as all kind of problems same thing happens to cars.
You neglected recovering the bunks on the trailer LOL, guess so much for them Sea trialing your boat when it was fixed under warranty 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Johnson-Evinrude has been junk for years which is really sad because they invented the outboard engine but they just refused to change with the times, so the only way you're going to fix that engine is to loosen the bolts and give it a kick!
Evinrude still seems like a great engine to own...LOL!
Love seeing a man being a man. #timewaits4nothingandnoone
That not wanting to rev up unless you shut off the motor sounds like your screen on the end of your pickup tube in the gas tank might be plugging up From sediment in the tank
