I would like to make a comment about you not showing the names of the people who gave you the bad comments. It shows a lot about your character and you have earned a lot of respect by blurring out their names. I especially hate when KZreadrs show the names of the people who leave negative comments as a way to get their fans to go after those people without actually saying it. Dude, I literally fell over upon the video today, and I cant help enjoying watching it. Listening to your commentary on the Blue Ridge rock fest 2023, and taking the complete piss out of it, I thought was freaking hilarious. I thought I had heard sarcasm before, been the only guy and growing up with it in a family of women, but damn this is just SOOOO much better. Whilst I'm not overly thrilled with the hard metals, and most of the names mentioned I never heard of, I still enjoy the genre - albeit of the symphonic kind. Ahh, beautiful. European here and I am unable to point to any flaws in your vids so far, even when I don't agree :D Still, this Panthera thing, is it US specific? As being also a 90's metalhead, I remember that Panthera had maybe few good hits at most in here, but otherwise it was just a toot.

I remember Pantera well from the glorious 90's and early 2000, but worrying about never ever getting to see a stave church cos of black metal craycrays did take up some time as well 😅

Hell, here I was thinking that the best part of being a metalhead is to be able able to agree or disagree with other metalheads about things we like. I've watched a few of your videos and while i'm sure we don't agree 50% of the time, I'm also sure that for some of the things i'd disagree, I had to check my facts again and see if i'm right or wrong. And there where times that I saw I was wrong about something. What I mean to say is that having different POV's isn't just ok, it's beneficial to both. Needless to say, today I subscribed, and I don't regularly do that. Your channel has helped me understand better the differences on how metal is perceived in America and how it is in my native Europe. For example, when you start listing bands at 20:20 and you mention firstly Sepultura. We all know here in Europe that Sepultura are Brazilian but we pay little heed to that and consider them "American" as they are from your continent. What I mean to say is that we often don't bother to think that the U.S. is only part of the continent and we refer to most such bands as American. Thank you for the useful info and points of view! I think it's hilarious when someone doesn't understand sarcasm. I live in florida and one time some guy in an orange "pick-em-up" truck was trying real hard to "save" me. We didn't know each other, I don't care what someone believes in, but due to his arrogance I asked him "I'm sorry but what year is it?" Somebody ELSE told me that it was 2022...thinking I didn't know. I realized it's a lost cause so instead of telling him "sure i guess its 1650 and you need to do this" I just chuckled and left the AA meeting.

It would be great to keep the variety of topics for the future videos of 2024 as well. Combination of festival related videos and the other topics about metal. Talking about different types of metal, various bands, more metal history. Or videos about creating metal songs - song writing, gear, more talk about the instruments used or about the different vocal styles in metal.

Hey, your channel is great, you make cool metal vids, and this is coming from someone that was a teenager when Black Sabbath dropped their first album (yes I'm fucking ancient). I think modern metal is great too... how about a video about djent? More history on thrash (there are a LOT of great thrash shows/bands)... or, how about more info on big-production metal shows, like Therion? ...or, a special video on just foreign folk metal bands from places like Mongolia? How about some Viking metal love (like Tyr), or even some pirate metal (Alestorm)? Anyway, regardless of who you cover, trust me, I won't care if you use sarcasm, or make fun of it... because having a decent sense of humor is one of the most valuable things a person can have in this life. Next to blast beats, of course.

The song 'Throne of Lies' on Manilla Road's Spiral Castle was cut from the original LP by the record company for 'sounding too much like Pantera'. It's still better than anything Pantera ever produced. I haven't watched your heavy metal history video yet (I will soon!) and I guarantee that I would not have noticed Pantera missing without watching this first. You're good

I remember people ridiculing me for liking Metallica, I wouldn't say that their discography is perfect but they wrote some of the most legendary and influential songs in the metal genre.

Yes. Also, "heavy" is a matter of taste. The '89 Seattle concert is imo very very heavy. For others, loud yelling to an over-distorted 3-chord pop composition is "heavy".

I love the dumbest takes on the internet always comes from someone saying they were in the military...as if that means anything outside of combat and weapons training... I mean, don't get me wrong, I am personal friends with actual combat veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan. But I occasionally send screenshots of the supposed military members online saying dumb takes and they most of the time have a huge laugh out of the comments. Not to say the clowns stealing valor to use as a catch all win every online argument, well, actually that is what I am saying. But also, if you are military and find yourself dropping the military qualification in an online argument, just think of what Chuck Norris would do. And what Chuck Norris would do is throw his phone into the ocean that then creates a typhoon that will go directly towards whoever offended him even if they live in a landlock state. In other words, don't get into a stupid online argument. There's a lot more to someone's personality and qualifications outside of what occupation they have or have done in the past. Don't be that guy.

Pantera has always been overrated because they were an industry plant, and so with commercial success, came all the "fans" who refused to listen to other bands.

The ratio of people who just watch videos to people who leave comments is very lopsided. The vast majority of people never comment on anything. I think a good percentage of people who DO leave comments have some kind of mental illness. Just a theory but yeah.
