But isn't that the wrong conclusion? Is this Reina not the one abusing the tactics instead of being the one "scarred" by them? Would you not be conditioned into abusing counterplay to power crushes and throws? Lows are beating both. What also works universally is backdashing into whiff punishing the throws and power crushes are usually punishable on block unless they are highs that are duckable.

the sneak1 "staple" can be done by removing the sidestep if you jab after the df3+4! It does 1 less damage for a 100% actual reliable combo

Yea this is pre-patch, at 4:31 UF4 even combos after using the new string. Now you can't connect that anymore.

My thoughts exactly. She has a lot more to her kit and dude was playing her like Kazuya or Devil Jin. I get that she's a Mishima, but she's more of a Hybrid than that. Constant waves are cool and all, but I feel like they're a lil wasted on her. Not to say she doesn't benefit from them, but she has a lot more to offer than just high/low 50/50 mix-up, imo.

@themainmanswe i discovered Devil jin has unlimited hellsweeps linked together if you're fast enough do Tekken 7 hellsweep combo then run up and hellsweep again as fast as you can and they can't block it i put it to block low and it can't block it they get up with there back towards you and you can link forever

Could anyone tell me how MEPHISTO is getting Sentai 3 from db2 on Rena? I first noticed it at 1:41 but saw it a few times in the set. I tried to lab it out but I couldn't find any way to transition into stance from db2.

It's WS1 (Jewel Snatcher), which forces transitions to Sentai on Front Hit. They look very similiar.

​​@@havok705if you didn't already know, you can do the quarter circle back during the recovery of a move and press f+2 when you've recovered and it'll come out as soon as possible. Doing it after a single jab or other plus on block move (SEN 4, WR 3 etc) is good because you can frame trap people with it. It also wall breaks if your opponent's back is against a wall, giving you a combo.

How reina moves at 0:50...unfair how my lili cant do that llol

Dragunov is pretty busted 😂😂 in a game where "aggressive" play is encouraged he is S teir imo. Btw im not complaining just saying

TMM: Has you believe female characters like Nina, Ling and Lili are cheap string spam cheese characters that take no skill to win with. Also TMM: d2 fcdf1,4 snk4, 2,1 snk4, 3,2 snk4, b1+2 df1,4. Pick'n'Mix order and repeat for free wins.

These matches are showing really good that being more aggressive in tekken 8 will only compliment your battle. Once you're starting to be more defensive, you're in a weaker position being under the pressure.

its not about being aggressive, its about taking control of the pacing of the game. nothing wrong about being defensive as long that you have a game plan and punish and whiff, that reina wasnt bad but mainman was just leading the matches.

I don't know that I would call this Reina insane. Did the Reina player do some impressive stuff? Absolutely. However, she never really beat you. I typically look at someone saying this person is insane with x character typically meaning they're kicking your ass the whole time. Again, they did a lot of impressive stuff, but winning wasn't one of them. Therefore, I don't think I would have said they were insane. Impressive, but not insane.

IWR moves in this game are wayyyy easier in this game to perform.

Reina is not a spammy character. Once people will have more experience on her they will realise that her sentai stance "mixups" are not real mixups.

@@BlueBamboo9 It's a bit complicated, but Reina after FF2 on block during the Sentai stance is very minus and maybe your opponent does not really have an option select to avoid her options easily, but she can be very easily jab/dickjabbed out of the stance, I believe dickjab avoids more of her options than a simple jab, and the other problem is that FF2 itself without the stance transition is not that great, she is -9 so it's technically safe, but honestly I would just take my 50/50 after FF2, but yeah, as a Reina player you have to be aware that you can be interrupted during the stance and some characters have 10 frame HE's so... And you can't even cancel it, you have to commit to something. It's the same with DF1 and a lot of other moves that can be cancelled into Sentai, the thing with DF1 is that on block every single option can be interrupted with a 1 jab, but the reason I think it's stronger than FF2 is that the DF1 has it's own extensions so it's harder for the player to react to the Sentai transition. I'm not saying Reina's Sentai is not strong, of course it is, I would even argue that it's stronger than Ling's Hypnotist stance transitions.

I'm kinda glad I got Bryan as my other main cause, if that's the case, that's kinda my playstyle already😅 I'll definitely need to work on movement and low evasives, as well as parries (in and out of heat), but I see what you're putting down😤 Thank you for the explanation! @@BlueBamboo9 Reina is similar to Bryan in that sense that both characters have issues with their lows(Bryan's lows are better imo) and that both relies on unbreakable/unblockable moves(Reina's throws and Bryan's taunt) to break your opponents guard, both character's guard break is mostly effective at the wall, and both characters wants to test your opponents patience with their 2 hit strings, but Bryan is more like a timing oriented counterhit guy, while Reina is more about her pokes and she is also more evasive. I love both characters and Kazuya too, they are my mains.

I really wish I could get movement down. I love Drag so much 🥹

That first match is what it looks like whenever I go against Dragunov as Reina. I feel like I have no answer to anything he does. He has so much momentum that once I'm on the defensive, I just lose.
