If it was your livelihood at risk, I imagine you would be acting “childlike” too... I find it hilarious that people who can actually be able to do some good in the world, choose doing bad instead, not only those rich hackers out of selfishness and just making money, but the corrupted goverments and companies too. At this rate, we dont even deserve this planet soon, and people like elon say's we're ready to colonize another one, mars ? They have to achieve somewhat of harmony on this one first.

@@peir5074 by encrypting the data, files are no longer able to be inspected at a glance, but are a garbled mess of data. This garbled mess can be in-garbled with an encryption key and some processing time. companies wouldn’t be able to compare their own copyrighted files to the uploaded files without decrypting it, making scanning for copyrighted content a much more difficult process. At the same time, Mega has an excuse not to check for copyrighted content, since it’s nearly impossible (or too expensive) to decrypt all the files that get sent in for the same reason

I knew about the Y2K Bug years before it became widely known in the mainstream. I'm not an IT professional or extraordinarily tech savvy, but read Survivalist magazines since junior high and things of that sort. One time I mentioned it to a bunch of my sister's friends sometime around 94'. One of them went off on me what an idiot I was and how could that possibly be a real issue, people must be feverishly working to avoid it, or patch it. etc. I was like yeah well they better get hopping. Even with worldwide tight buttholes New Years Eve 1999 I still left the Wilderhood and visited Phoenix to go to a party he was at. I had forgotten mentioning it and his denial, roasting me yadda yadda. He hadn't; It was pretty funny when he brought it up and kinda gave me a little redemption. It wasn't so much a matter of "supposed," no one really knew or was sure. They didn't even start the full court press to remedy things until '98. The US alone spent over $600 billion.

@@jarynh7800 That is an accurate summary. He switched to a "white hat" hacker at some point, but someone else blackmailed him more-or-less into creating the virus for him. You can look up the video title with the word "reupload" after it, someone re-uploaded the video after Disrupt took it down. You can find the original story there.
