Hello,
In today's episode, I move into the entrance hall and work out how to fit the staircase stringer, so it blends in nicely with the skirting board. My stringer turns out not to be long enough, so this will be a two-part episode and I shall be finishing off in next week's installment.
I really hope you'll enjoy this episode.

I think that stringer is going to look great! It will be fun and instructive to see how it finally comes together.
Hi Julie! I just want to say how much I love watching you create your beautiful doll house! When you show a close up of the completed or nearly completed rooms they look like a real house! The detail is amazing and the quality of the furnishings you make are second to none. Thank you for sharing your journey! 😊

Thank you so much, that's lovely to hear. I always think if something looks real on camera, then I've done a good job! :) xx
You do such beautiful work. I learn so much from you. I wonder if you are going to add mini wall electric outlets or mini light switches and plate cover. They would not function of course but would add a cute and realistic look. Plus I would love to see how you do it. Thank you for sharing your talent!

Yes, I shall be adding light switches in each room, but the copper tape is already installed, so will only be adding ceiling lights. :)
A nice little distraction while I make (literally) hundreds of leaves for an apple tree in the garden of my scratch build! The stairs are looking great, I always find all the angles so fiddly, looking forward to the next episode! 🙂

@@marthatownsend7702 no problem, I'm cutting them out of green cardstock (which is fiddly) then I paint them with a couple of green acrylic paints. After that I use an embossing stylus to give them a bit of shape. Then I attached them to cotton thread which I've painted & used a bit of glue to stiffen. I made the actual tree out of wire, wrapped in crepe paper & painted in several shades of brown acrylic paint. Oh, & I make my apples out of air dry clay (also painted) Hope that helps 🙂
Ahh what a lovely name ...dear Deirdre...❤
This episode brought back memories, not all pleasant, of my stairways. It required the same thought process that you are going through. I did get it figured out in the end, but let's just say that when the skirting issue was finally resolved, I was more than happy to move on and not look back. 😂

Yes, it can get you like that can't it! I thought it would be such an easy job! :) xx
I still have nightmares about the stringers in my hallway. Trying to figure them out kept me awake at nights and that was after watching one of your early tutorials 😄

I know! Who would have thought it would be such a tricky job?! :)
Been waiting and feel very happy to see #53!! I'm impressed, as always, by your problem-solving skills.
I am really enjoying these Friday episodes. I really struggled when I did the stringer in my first build and just went by photos of real ones and ended up making it in a similar way. I didn't have a door near the bottom so was able to keep the height there at the same level as the skirting round the floor. It is always helpful seeing your thought process so thank you again Julie x

Thanks Alison. It was one of those jobs I thought would be easy! Still, I'm fairly pleased with how it's turned out. Onto the next one now... :) xx
Love your videos.
Love that name for the deer! Should it be spelt Deerdre? :D Thank you as always for a great video. I love how you show all the problem solving and your thought processes. I find that just as inspring as seeing the houses come together. I work in 1:24 scale myself and it doesn't seem to matter for me that yours are 1:12 - they still always make me want to get in and work on my house.
Fitting things to fit can be more difficult than a puzzle. Julie on the top baseboard. Is it possible to cut the length to the stringer. And cut the stringer at an angle? That way it would look like one long stringer. Hope that makes sense.

I'm not too sure what you mean, but I'm pretty happy with how this worked. :)
I really look forward to the Friday video, thank you. Your house is going to look perfect. I have not bothered with much skirting lol, but it does look beautiful. I find the cutting hard.

It can be tricky to get the cutting, or angles, correct, but it does give a nice finish to the room. :)
