A lot of people say that the moment where Elise hesitated before blowing out the flame of Solaris was stupid but I disagree. Getting rid of Solaris meant that she wouldn’t remember Sonic. She would’ve done it anyway but that hesitation makes her a little more human. Can you imagine if you had to get rid of all of memories of your best friend, your lover, the one who helped change for the better, to save the world? It would hurt. A lot.

I'm tired of sonic fans that always downgrade and mocking Elise just because she's like in love with Sonic. Can we all agree for a moment that this is one of the few sonic games that represent real situation/feeling in the real world? Where we don't feel heroic yet feel sad because everyone have to forget this journey and this moment where they can finally united as one even Dr.eggman joined them. It's also feels sad when Elise is hesitated to blow the Solaris flame. She know that after she blew this flame, she will never remember sonic again, her best friend that actually cared about her and sees her as a friend not as a princess

Yeah, being slightly selfish doesn't make a character a bad character. Instead it gives them some depth, specially in the case of Elise, where she decides to the right thing anyway.

Honestly, I don't care that this is the theme song of everyone's least favorite character this song is hands down the best example of Sonic Soundtracks being good regardless of the game itself. This is actually such an underrated song, I cannot believe I hadn't bothered to listen to it sooner. Especially considering Sonic 06 has one of my favorite soundtracks in the whole series.

Doesn’t sound like Die ... well, with all due respect, I do have to leave a message about the meaning between those 2 songs, but this doesn’t sound something that Kesha would sing to. Her music is mostly EDM, while this song, as I would describe it, not only a romantic love song, but also a song that speaks of remembrance, and being sad that you have to leave one day, as opposing to Elise and Sonic. Especially the loved ones we have lost. And of course, celebrating the life and legacy of Alex Trebek.

His World, All Hail Shadow, Dreams Of An Absolution, and My Destiny would make good additions to my playlist that I made.

There appear to be 4 types of song styles for Sonic games, guys. His World is a punk rock song with rap and orchestral elements, All Hail Shadow is a rock song, Unknown from M.E. is a hip-hop song with jazz elements, My Sweet Passion is a jazz song, Dreams Of An Absolution is an electronic dance song, and My Destiny is an R&B song.

Elise wasn't really a bad character, she was just badly written at parts. The whole concept of her character, a princess who lost her father when she was very young and was expected to take the throne and think only of her people without a moment to think about herself, is a good character concept. And her and Sonic's dynamic wasn't bad at all; in fact it would have been totally fine without the kiss because without that kiss, it was just two close friends. The final scene in Sonic's story where Sonic is jumping out of Eggman's ship is probably the best scene that shows this friendship. I really like Elise and I'm sad that one bad writing choice makes mostly everyone hate her. And I really like this song.

No es un mal personaje de hecho, sino más bien no le dieron un gran desarrollo durante el juego ya que a cierto punto es un poco tonta, pero tiene una historia muy interesante y realmente lo que debió ocurrir es de que el sonic team debió hacer que el jugador y la historia nos hiciera conocer más a fondo el personaje y darle un mejor desarrollo para que sintiéramos cariño por ella o darle su debido respeto, me atrevo a decir que su hate es muy exagerado, solo la odian por su amistad/romance con sonic (ha pero con shadow y María andan alabandolos y diciendo que serian una excelente pareja cuando ella también es humana) , el beso y por ser básicamente la peach de sega, si hubiera aparecido un poco más o tenido otra aparición en otro juego de sonic le hubieran dado el desarrollo que se merecía, pero fue tan odiada que ni una referencia le hacen en otros juegos de sonic o una mención dejando al personaje en el olvido y siendo el sonic 2006 su única aparición.

The worst thing is that i know a lot of people who DON'T hate her because of the kiss, they hate her because she briefly hesitates and for a moment contemplates choosing Sonic over the World. And the very same people are *fans* of the Protagonist in Life is Strange and are adamant about the fact that saving Chloe is the only right choice.

I know Sonic 06 wasn't the best Sonic game, but honestly, I don't think it's the worst, not at all. I had a lot of fun exploring Soleanna and discovering secrets, I have a lot of favourite stages in this game and I like the fact that you're able to play with nine characters, each one with their own powers and habilities, and the option to buy powerups and use your rings as money, like in SA2B. The idea of this game was the best, it's a pity that the final product didn't give the waited result, but I'd like SEGA to do a Sonic game like this nowadays, with the same models of characters, because I love Eggman's look here, realer and human. So a new Sonic game just like this, with another story, a bigger city, but the same models, with the animations and graphics of Sonic Generations or better, AND, finally for PS4 and XOne, I think that would be the biggest hit SEGA could make, something that, for Sonic fans, would be definitely worth it.

Constructive criticism is defnitely good, but we often get drowned in the flood of "Sanic is shiet and was always shiet and this is absolutely everything wrong with it" or "Sonic is mah childhood memories therefore sonic is best". Because of games like Sonic Boom and Sonic 06, there's a lot of negativity which leads to a lot of pessimism in reviewing Sonic games. I feel like Sonic is less about great gameplay (admittedly, Mario is more for that), but Sonic is much more about having constant varying fun, and a great experience. Sonic has great visuals, music and nice characters (albeit, at best, decent stories and dialogue) . While, on a gameplay and objective basis I would say something like Sonic Adventure 2 deserves something like a 6-7/10, personally I enjoyed SA2 enough to give it a 9.5/10. Becuase Sonic is more than a game, he's a spectacle and an artist. Unfortunately, that's easy to destroy when you have bad games that makes everyone feel negative about Sonic. Everyone's kinda in the "let's maliciously bitch about Sonic" period. There's nothing wrong with a pessimistic critic outlook, but I think an optimistic critic outlook is the best for Sonic and the most fun way to enjoy media.

I used to cringe at this song (because I was a edgy kid), but to be honestly, this is a good song.

Amazing song. So beautiful and lovely. Unpopular opinion, I think Elise is alright. She ain't perfect, but she's not terrible either. If only Sonic 2006 was released as a fully developed game then it could be worthy of this amazing soundtrack. Honestly, SEGA should give this game a 2nd chance at TRUE greatness. A star can't shine without darkness.

Hmmm, it is interesting how songs that convey meanings we can’t mentally connect to a specific event in our lives can still touch and impact us in ways. I would have choked it up to some memory stored in the subconscious, but that would have been before I was deeply moved by The Story of a Soldier (a song featured in The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly) despite me not being a veteran or even serving in the military.

A beautiful image that often comes to mind when I hear this song is Elise (or any real woman really) singing this on stage in front of a crowd, bowing in the end as the audience applauses her. Actually makes me emotional thinking about it while listening.

tbh Elise's view of Sonic is kinda strange. The kiss could be interpreted as both a kiss to save a hero and a kiss to save a lover. Though we're able to suggest reasons for either point, the true meaning still doesn't become clear. One point which suggests Sonic be the lover is the way he takes Elise places and almost watches over her like he has deep feelings but on the other hand, this can be viewed as Sonic watching Elise almost like a guardian angel. Either way, Sonic 06 wasn't that great of a game but I genuinely enjoyed the writing, music and even the voice acting. I might even buy this game again.

Ya know, this song's tone really fits. 06 was meant to celebrate Sonic's birthday, along with being his first step into next gen, ON TOP of having to be a smash hit around the holidays. But in the end, it flopped hardcore, with a convoluted, pompous plot, poor acting and motion capture, and every single glitch. But when you look at stuff like the music, the graphics (for the time) were decent, and the whole ambition of being "next gen". So when you hear something like My Destiny it really makes it look sadder, because you know someone on the team put effort and heart into it, only for it to be a massive dumpster fire. But in a way, just like a lot of these types of songs at the end of a Sonic game, it does give a sense of revival. Because right after this, Sega and Sonic Team were like "lets try". I love this song, and this game even more. Not only is it one of my favorite Sonic games of all time, its also one of my favorite games of all time. The characters were just...So good. The level design was great. The story was grand and fantastic, with one of Sonics best villains. The realistic humans were incredible in the CGI, and in model they were good for its time. They need to come back. Same with hub worlds. I loved walking around Station Square and Soleanna. Soleanna was such a beautiful place. I love this game, and it needs to get the love it deserves.

This song is incredibly sweet. I love it so much.

I think Sonic's relationship with Elise was the best in the entire Sonic franchise (next to the one he had with Sally Acorn in the Archie comics). Its a pity that after the Flame of Solaris was permanently destroyed in the past, history was rewritten and Elise's time with Sonic never happened. Though admittedly it was for the best.

I didnt know sonic 06 was bad until a friend told me. I had played it for years up to that point... I’m probably just another easy to please consumer, but I mean its been 14 years if you’re still hating this game it’s probably because someone told you to. One way or another. It was more playable than Heroes (ps2). It’s story was more coherent than Shadow. Give it a chance to grow on you... you might not love the entire product but trust there are qualities deep within this game that shine very brightly.

If you ask me the story of 06 is the best sonic plot out of all the modern sonic games! I know bold statement

i once fell asleep to a 2 hour video essay of sonic 06 and i woke up to this song playing after having a crazy dream that was influenced by the vid i was watching, made sonic 06 this crazy masterpiece, so hearing this when i woke up gave me a feeling i have never felt before

I personally loved playing Sonic 06, and I don’t think I experienced glitches when I was playing. I remember the game being very hard at the least. I first learned about Sonic from this game, so it helped me learn of an awesome franchise. I hope they don’t screw up the 3rd movie

Seriously, if SEGA wants to become popular again, they need to remake the classics like Sonic 06, A2B, and shadow the hedgehog. Only they need to fucking fix the hell out of them because damn.

You can tell, Sega tried hard with this game. They WANTED Sonic to have a SPEACIAL love. Not ordinary. If they had tried harder the could've given us a heartfelt love-story. Bravo to Sega for trying so hard.

Shivers! This reminds me of playing this game way back and ACTUALLY loving it.

I'm just going to say it: this game, despite it's flaws, is my favorite Sonic game. I do think Generations is the best 3D game in terms of gameplay, but 06 has a story and characters that I genuinely like, as well as more varied and fun gameplay. The mere fact that this game has a story at all puts it above Generations in my book.

Sonic the hedgehog 2006 was a bad game but the soundtrack is still pretty good even when elise sinned and killed sonics reputation.

What actually happened is because some idiots just don't know how to play the game because it's hard, they probably were disappointed with how eggman looked which was the only thing that I didn't like about the game, and probably because people are nothing but dumbasses that just go and do what the other ones doing because they are too stupid to think twice. It's pretty much why I hate humanity, because we have a lot of dumb people in charge like c'mon! SJWs are one of those things! They suck because they think their smart but their not!!!! They are making the people who work on The Simpsons get rid of Apu because he's "racist", well I think SJWs are racist!!! Fuck those guys! I will expose those jerks for what their doing so they get hated even more for bullying people for everything!!! I don't care if they kill themselves, they make people commit suicide! This game was support to save the sonic series. It ended up hurting it. It really does suck think how good this game could’ve been. Thankfully the sonic series has been coming back for the past few years,but that doesn’t mean the scars this game won’t be leaving anytime soon.

dude, project 06 kinda fixes all of the gameplay issues and is a pretty solid fan-remake/remaster of the game, check it out!!!

It’s been years since I played this game, I’ve memorized the entire story, listened to all of the character songs, except for this one. I was fine with Elise until the weird cringey kiss, but anyway, I have to say I never did hate the character. The scene where she chooses between keeping her memories or losing them and saving the world was a very human scene, I always did think it was sad that she’d forget Sonic. This was the first time I’ve listened to this song, April 14th, 2022, and I have to say it’s a good song.

This song is just amazing. I know a lot of yall hate Elise in this game but she's actually not that bad. Maybe kissing Sonic at the end was disgusting, but she doesn't deserve hate. This song truly describes her feelings about Sonic. I would imagine her singing this after the game where she forgot who he was. If you beaten the game, you would know what I'm talking about. But overall, I am obsessed with this song and it's just so beautiful. Definitely playing this when I graduate from 12th grade. Jamming and crying to it at home along with more of my favorite Sonic songs. I'm literally typing this while listening to it lol.

Nostalgia is one hell of drug I mean wow I was 6 years old when I heard things now in 21 and totally different emotions I am feeling wow sonic 06 may have sucked but the music is the only reason I go back to it

She has act like a robot so that Solaris does not break out basically a living seal that must seal the emotion too but finally expressing her freedom

Listening to it more and more helped me realize that I love this song. One of the best love songs I've ever heard. Even if it's about a talking blue hedgehog.

I could imagine this as Sonic and Sally’s Romance song. The first Archie continuity Sonic is still my headcanon. I don’t care what people say.
