If you spend 100k on a vehicle like this with a non-luxurious interior, dangerous anti-pedestrian build, no drivers display or AR HUD, no retractable rear step like on the F150, and more, then more fool you. What's shocking is you want it swapped for another one.

They obviously weren't honest about the original repair when they told you it was a corroded ground wire. It was only a couple weeks from production, and I doubt anything could have corroded by then. Now, out of 3800 delivered to date, two of them are laid up at the same repair center with the same problem, again? They have an issue and don't want to make headlines with another recall. I also think this is why they made the 'no re-sale for 1-year' contract. They know there are major issues, and they don't want dissatisfied customers like you selling your truck so they can continue to dump them for a whole year at ridiculous prices. I don't think they will sell more than 40 or 50K of them and they will go the way of the original Hummer.

Get a refund and buy a real truck. If you get another Cybertruck, it will likely be garbage too.

My Power Conversion System failed 3 days after delivery. It took 10 days to get it back because the warehouse sent one out but it was damaged in shipping. Once I got it back I had the truck for 3 days and it went out again. The truck has been in service for 16 out of 22 days owned. Tesla really needs to take a step back and look at the QC process again. No owner should have to keep their vehicles in service longer than in their own hands.

I knew going in that there could be some issues. I use to be a field engineer for the military testing command. I know what to look for when equipment is under load. I honestly think it’s another component that is failing and the sensors are not picking it up. This could be sending bad data to the PCS and overloading it and making it bad. I have gone over the shop manual the techs are just plug and play repair people.

@BrothersInArmsBBQ Now, I’ve been a mechanic for 26 years and believe me when I tell you I’ve NEVER said these words to ANYONE before in my life, but you’d have been better off with a Volkswagen. You really have to put in an effort to make a bigger POS than a VW.

Have you formally requested a replacement under the lemon law? Looks like it has to be out of service for either 20 days or 4 times for the same fix for the law to apply. Tesla isnt going to create an expectation that it volunteers to provide replacements rather than trying to fix it. I hope it gets fixed right away, but if it is out of service for more than 20 days, invoke the lemon law directly. Hopefully that foesnt require an attorney, but probably a formal request. Not all states give you the option of a replacement vehicle, so that is good. But guessing you will have to wait months to get one (as many people have paid and are still waiting). Good luck! I know, car washes!!! finally got rid of it because it got old, and I moved to the city, didn't need it anymore.

I'm not an expert on automotive lemon laws, but I don't believe they are required to give you another truck. Once they offered to buy it back they fulfilled their obligation. WHY ARE WE YELLING!?!?? You know you have the founders edition. This is normal. Your "issues" are vague.

The 1st 40K cars are usually the “test fleet”, they may need to rethink the 48V/800V system. If it can’t charge, then it cannot charge another electric car (which is supposed to be a selling feature of the truck) 🤔. I’ve owned 2 Model 3’s and a Y w/no such issues like that (especially within the 1st 90 days post delivery), the common thread is that none of them were 1st gen, sub 40K VIN’s 🤔.

Hopefully they manage to fix it and it'll be the final time. For the loaner, that really sucks that they don't make sure it is clean. For the size of it though, can't you say something? I have family that were prepping to go camping. 4 kids + 2 adults. The day before the camping trip, something happened and they tried to give him a loaner sedan, rather than a family van he was bringing in. He said something to them about it and they gave him a van as a loaner. I'm surprised at the travel time to get to that dealership. 5 hours round trip? No other dealerships closer or is it because that was the dealership you bought it at?

Last time I ask they said they only had 1 Model X available as a loaner everything else is a mix of the other models. That is the closest one to me, the other one is in Charlotte which is farther away.
