@@brennathecatlover4360 from my understanding from watching the show more times than I think I should have, the reason she keeps going back is because the guy him self keeps her. Because he is like the most SUBTLE tsundere out there. Her love for him does start to affect him. But because his parents were so controlling (despite their nice likable personality) he never bothered to care about what he wants and what he feels. Kotoko's love for him despite being rejected is what made him care about himself for the first time in his life. And with that he fell for her even when he didn't realize it himself.

There's a kdrama if your interested it's called playful kiss it's deserve the watch

The American girl's English sounds SUPER dubbed. They couldn't get any native English speaker to voice her?

kotoko character was so funny & strong. whenever she feel heartbroken or sad she bear up to forget the sad things and start the new day with cheering and lots of excitement.

I know the Voice Actors were really trying with there English but that still doesn’t make it any less hilarious.

Spoiler alert? Watching this anime, I wished that the live action was more true to the manga and anime storyline when it came to Chris. She wasn't just some random foreigner. She was in an arranged marriage with Irie. But in both the Korean and Japanese adaptation they got the story wrong 😭😭😭 For those who don't know, they added another girl as the fiancé instead, then Chris usually came after, which really just added unnecessary fuel to the fire. It got rid of Chris's development as a character completely. Although, it is a TV show adaption, and obviously they can't get everything right. So I don't completely blame anyone. The writers were really true to the story, and got a lot of the anime and mangas detail correct.

@@kagokadae I just watched it. You were right! The Taiwanese remake is way more true to the story in some aspects.. I'm thinking the young lady 'Hui Lan' is replacing Chris, though. So again not really true to her story, but close. Edit: Yeah so I really don't know what you were talking about since- they just introduced Chris. She's just some foreigner again. So idk what your point was

I love that they changed Sahoko to Chris it just really makes sense because in the manga sahoko is the person irie is engaged to not chris and they are two separate people. Honesty the anime just makes sense

i first watched this through the taiwanese version and can't help to think that the taiwanese version of this story was added with depth 🥺 also the actor who played as the irie was a huge fan of the original manga too. recommending to anyone who wants a emotionally deeper version of this series (and a well-portrayed irie) to watch it started with a kiss (season 1) and they kiss again (season 2) 🥺🥺

+1 to this! Joe Cheng and Ariel Lin portrayed Naoki and Kotoko with more human-like emotions that's why I got attached to them as Zhishu and Xiangqin a lot. Setting aside the perfect chemistry between the two actors, the development arcs of the two characters in the Taiwan version were executed well. I felt that ZS (Naoki) genuinely warmed up to and began caring for XQ (Kotoko) at the turning point and Joe's version of Naoki gave me the expressions of affection towards Kotoko that I just can't find or maybe was lackluster for me in the other versions. Ariel's take on Kotoko's journey towards independence was deeply explored and touched on as well. The Taiwan version is still the best version for me too. ❤️💗

For all the people that are new at asiancrush :yep the titles are always like that and yep I love it too

Kinnosuke is best guy. I dont know how she chose Irie over him. Lowkey all he had before he changed was his looks. :/

Both Kinnosuke and Keita were great guys. The reason why she chose Irie over Kin was because she had such low self-esteem. Unfortunately things like this happens all the time in real life just because women don't think they could do any better. It's a shame that people could get away with toxic behavior just because they are attractive. He had such a terrible personality before he finally changed for the better.

On the manga instead of Chris, there is Sahoko Oizumi, Cristhine arrived lately with another role. I read a lot of bad thinghs about Kotoko and Naoki's relationship. I don't think that Tada wanted describe her heroine like a girl that doesn't love herself, instead she is very strong and Naoki falls in love with her for this reason. She needs him, but he also needs her, Naoki has emphary feelings thanks Kotoko, and for this reason he becomes a great doctor

I feel bad for the girl

I really want kotoko to end up with kin when Irie realises his feelings.

'unfortunately this kind of shitty relationship happen in real life. Iriea definitely wasn't a good man but still kotoko loved him and married him where as Kin was always a good guy from the start of the series but didn't end up with kotoko After knowing this I dropped the series

no!!! at least in live action 2013 chris is a friend to her since they first met not her rival for naoki. so for me chris and kotoko's friendship is wholesome in live action i prefer it than the anime.

i hate both of them i prefer the live action. it's more wholesome. i like chris and kotoko's friendship in 2013 live action. she was never a rival to her in that version but a good friend who support their relationship. unlike here in the anime she used to be a rival eww for naoki.
