Oh to gently hold a wonder wonderful moth
I found a Luna moth with broken wings on my lawn a couple days ago. I made her a Terrarium and she’s been laying a ton of eggs. I can’t believe what a profound effect she has had on me by me meeting her. These creatures are so beautiful and amazing. I wish I had more time with her.
I found an injured luna moth today and have been educating myself on them since so I could make sure they are comfortable. Now I am obsessed and plan to make a shadow box for our little friend for when he passes. I feel blessed to have ever been able to hold one in real life.

I was given a moon moth in Hongkong aged 10 in 1953. I’ve still got it. The magic never fades.

@@BartCoppens Actias sinensis. At that time there were few books on the subject; I later found some larvae of A. selene, but didn't know they were different species. Happy days!

Hi, late last year I got into the Giant Silk Moths and started ordering and caring for the cocoons of the native species in the United States: Cecropia, Polyphemus, and my favorite, the Luna Moth. Releasing them was tricky as the moths seemed perfectly content on my hand. At present time I have Luna moth caterpillars that hatched from the eggs of a pair that were originally part of a Luna moth kit I ordered from the Shady Oak Butterfly Farm. Eventually, I will post videos of them and see what you think. Love your moth videos, btw, the Madagascan Comet moth is beautiful!
