My Comparison Casio GPR B1000 Garmin Fenix 6Pro

The only thing that interests me about these watches is tracking. Their both excellent watches just built for different markets. For more detailed information on them check out the link to WatchUp69MrRangeman.

    Actually most of the personnel who are active duty..at least from my experience in Naval Aviation prefer the Garmins over the Casios including myself though I'm personally not an aviator who could at any minute end up in a very desperate survival situation not just in enemy territory but in general... I'm just a maintainer who fixes what the pilots break though our job is pretty dangerous as well. I've gotten 80+ days of battery life out of my tacttix delta thanks to solar charging and if you're a survivalist or someone in a survival situation such as an aviator and haven't found a source of power in over 80 days I think you have bigger problems to worry about. And in terms of durability I've only ever gotten one scratch on my watch and its fallen and been beaten up more times than I can count on many different surfaces. No scratches on the display or anything of the sort. Now I'm sure if you wanted to throw it off a building or run it over with a car things might be different but a scenario like that is a tad unrealistic, you'd be more worried if you'd survive than if your watch doesn't have a scratch on it or not. I think both are extremely durable and would survive anything you'd throw at them and still have plenty of life to give.

    I opted for the GPR-B1000. It's a good solid watch that will last for many years to come. Though, I did look at the other options. In the end, I enjoy spending time outside with a chainsaw and doing other things that are likely to break a lesser watch. Thanks for the video, Cheers!

    My Tactix Delta has saved my ass in the bush… hunting, sun goes down, thought I knew where trailhead was. I wish Casio would come out with a map watch like garmin. If you pull a bonehead move like I did and don’t start it tracking, I think you’d be hooped with the Casio. My Garmin guided me right back to my truck… saved me a 32 km trek in the dark straight up and down a mountain. I just love how tough Casio is so here’s hoping they put maps in ‘em!!

    I have the RangeMan and I put on the adapter for a single pass zulu strap. Solar charging is great. If you install a USB port on your ATV, you can charge it on the go or you can get a folding solar panel and charge it quickly with that too. The jaysandkays adapter fits the strap too loosely unless you install 2.5mm thick spring bars and then put a layer of shrink tubing over them to tighten up the fit. I don't like the NATO double pass straps.

  • @rawsonforever

    @rawsonforever

    Different brand straps have different thickness. I use a Ritche Nato that fits perfect. As for the GPR battery. It charges in sunlight no need for a solar panel. If I have to It can be charged with the battery pack I use for the camera. No need to carry extra gear. Thanks for watching.

    FYI the 6X has a TON more battery. Also it has an expedition mode which lasts over a month. The Garmin does EVERYTHING the Casio does and a ton more. In terms of bullet proof, if you are literally smacking your watch against the wall the Casio will last longer. Otherwise the Garmin, which is Milspec, wins on all points. However if you want that bulky rugged styling then its GShock

    The larger Garmin X size has a larger battery and some have solar. I'd doubt they would beat the Casio on battery life though. Also I use velcro or NATO (well semi-nato I guess!) straps. You can get versions that will allow the heart rate/pulse ox to work. I know it doesn't bother you I'm just mentioning it for others. Nice video by the way.

    The Casio GPR B1000 is more of a survival watch. It doesn't have any of the fitness tracking of the Garmin. It built to run under any conditions. The Garmin is mostly a fitness watch. It's tough enough for most people. Since fitness is what your into I'd go with the Garmin and carry a battery pack if your going to be out for days. Except for some added soft wear I don't see much of a difference between the Fenix 6 pro and the Tactix Delta. I'd save a couple hundred and get the 6 pro.
