My Comcast 2Gbps Internet Upgrade

Ғылым және технология

On my most recent visit to the Comcast website, I noticed I was eligible to upgrade to the "Gigabit X2" service tier! This service, which is provided over the existing copper wire infrastructure maxes out at 2Gbps download and 100Mbps for uploads. I made this video to share my journey through the installation process and to show off the speeds the upgrade provides.

That's a good question. I didn't test the WiFi speeds on the router itself. I have 2 Ubiquiti wifi access points in my house that are spread out for better speeds. I realize a vast majority of people use the built in wifi, but I never even gave it a thought really.

I called and changed back modem to the Motorola Mb8611 modem i had and for about 2 minutes I was able to hit those same speeds on the motorola until they downgraded my service back to Gigabit. Sucks that they require this modem.

Most of the hardware they give out is used and abused. I used to work for comcast in the testing department for modems and routers along with dvr,s. they typically would hold on to hardware for 5 years to cheap to give customers new equipment.
