thankyou for watching this video, and hopefully this video on my childhood traits as an autistic girl will give you an idea about living with autism as a child, and signs your child is autistic
my childhood autism traits won't match every autistic child, however I hope it will give you some information on autism in children/Asperger's in children .

My autism diagnosis- • How to prevent a MELTD...
little bit about me, I was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder/ Asperger's syndrome at 9 years old. I have kept my diagnosis a secret for the majority of my teenage years. I am 17 years old now and have decided to use KZread as a platform to help autistic people like myself parents of autistic children, as both me and my mum have struggled with the lack of help and resources available after the diagnosis.
I also wish to spread more female representation of people on the spectrum as there is a huge gap in the media which needs to be addressed, as well as the true reality's of being on the autism spectrum not just the stereotypical traits presented in the media.
my hope is to use this channel as a resource to help parents, but to also to share what it is really like living with autism as a autistic girl in the 21st century.
so if you want to know more about my life, relationships, friendships, what i get up to in my day to day life and extra information on autism, keep watching.
hope you enjoyyy.

I felt so identified with your story, when I was a lad I used to have fixations with topics such as Geography before turning 10, I learnt all the countries and their capitals, there was a moment when I was obsessed with United States and learnt the 50 states joined their capital cities and the whole presidents and so on, I also used to talk to myself and walk around my school's playground ,throw tantrums , and of course misunderstand idioms like " cutting corners" I reckoned it was scissors that were cutting a corner into many pieces lol anyway great listening to you :)

When it comes to honesty, it's really bad, I will tell people what is up. No matter who it offends. I don't do it in order to make people feel bad or to be an asshole, I do it simply because I value the truth above everything else. Peoples feelings doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. I was conditioned in a young age to understand the human dynamics though so I didn't struggle all that much with that, I also was involved with antisocial people apparently so I didn't struggle with that once again. Later on in life I was incredibly interested in human psychology (which is really common with autists according to my psychologists). So I can understand human interaction on a fairly deep level and understand why they behave the way they do but I kind of lack the inherent "feel" of why they act the way they do. Let's be a creep while we're at it, you're really pretty btw.

I can see nearly most of your behaviour traits as a child in my 4 year old daughter. She has been diagnosed as on the Autism Spectrum. Hearing you speak has helped me to understand my girl. Thank you soo much for talking about your autism.

I have adhd and i am also self diagnosed as autistic(can’t get an official diagnosis right now) and though i don’t remember much from my childhood only from my parents stories here are my childhood autistic traits:1. Had fixed obsessions and was obsessing over certain interests and topics(some long term and others Short term) like growing up i was obsessed with daisy duck and i wanted to become a duck so i made duck noises all the time . I was also obsessed with animals and knew every damn things about animals and knew things beyond my age and was thought as a gifted child. Learned to talk early and knew to read before i started school. My social skills were always subpar. I’d mimic ppl on tv and come across as dramatic and unappropriate bcuz i was using all phrases i didn’t understand. Like i was always obsessed with a certain tv character that i’d try to mimic and act like that(still lowkey do it but back then it was going to a point where you’d ask my name and i’d say cinderella).Or was copying still am people around me and come across as unnatural. Only wanted to have it my way as a kid and would make these elaborate scenarios and when playing with kids they had to play it as i said otherwise i’d lash out for “ruining my vision”. It wasnt that i was shy and i wanted friends it was just that i was pretty weird and not willing to compromise my vision.Wasn’t much into cuddling and stuff don’t hate it but was never that affectionate. I always had a better bond with animals than with people. Poor motor skills(didn’t realize it was a sign of autism but while being academically gifted my practical skills were always 0. You Could show me 100 times how you do an origami and still have no clue). Not to mention being an extremely picky eater like still am but as a kid was even worse. I was really temperamental and would have(still have) poor emotional control and had a lot of tantrums. From what i remember i could cope pretty well with change in fact i kind of craved it

I am the very same way! Everything for me has to be just right or I go into a huge meltdown. I used to line up cars, I used to play by myself, and my favorite toy, was poker chips. Loud noises for me, is also a big issue. I have to wear headphone with music playing to stay calm. So yes, I too have autism.

That was quite insightful, learned a lot. I didn't know I was autistic until about 43 years old. It sucks to go through life knowing you're different and knowing that you struggle without knowing why. Once you know why, it takes a bit of weight off of your shoulders. It's also nice to have an understanding of why things are the way they are. I know a little bit more about when I should be patient with myself.

Teachers always bothered me in Nursery by trying to take stuff away and force me to share (my own stuff) or complained if I drew during classes even if other children were being hooligans. People always has this habit of forcing us to socialise or be in crowded rooms even through there is no purpose in it. It stresses you out until you start arguing yet you do not seek an seek argument.

I'm gonna to get a test soon to see anything and everything I have cuz my mum thinks I have autism but I have read about lots of other things that I comply with to but I really don't want to have autism because I'm scared my friends will think I'm really weird. I also have really bad anxiety so that doesn't help either so I hope it goes well for me and I'm sure even If I do have autism and more it'll probably be ok right?! Wow my daugther had so much of these signs but she would destory everything at school but most of the time be calm at home. The talking to herself was something i thought was normal her imaginary friends i thought was also normal but her teachers said qhere it becomes not normal is when she perfers to be in a fantasy world 90% of the time over playing with others. Your story sounds like my 7yr old daugthers.

Lol, when i was in the 3rd grade, i was in library and a student picked up a book. I noticed the book and remember thinking i didn’t like the book she picked up. Even though i didn’t know the girl (this was my 2nd day at this new school), and all i did was share my two cents with the girl and told her that the book she picked up is dumb. Lol. She tattled on me and i got in trouble for a "put down". All the kids thought i was the rude new girl, but by week two, i was no longer the rude kid, but i was the weird kid.

Your mom had the patient of a saint. Seriously! And it always shocks me how not enough empathy autistic people have for the level of dedication and patience of their caretakers. Saying this as another person with autism whose mom was also a saint and also deserves her statue in the town square for the crazy amount she had to put up with. I KNOW I could never!😂

Everyone's brain is different. People can learn social skills and can decrease nerve sensitivity. Some people like to focus on stuff. I don't think this stuff should be labeled autism.
