most artists I add songs to playlists and shuffle around as most people do, but ever since I was a teenager MCR albums were always ones I listened to in order, imagined the story in my head, I have probably run through hundreds of versions of the black parade in my head, and this is easily the definitive way to experience this masterpiece of an album.

Well I was there on the day They sold the cause for the queen And when the lights all went out We watched our lives on the screen I hate the ending myself But it started with an alright scene It was the roar of the crowd That gave me heartache to sing It was a lie when they smiled And said, you won't feel a thing And as we ran from the cops We laughed so hard it would sting Yeah yeah, oh If I'm so wrong (so wrong, so wrong) How can you listen all night long? (night long, night long) Now will it matter after I'm gone? Because you never learn a goddamn thing You're just a sad song with nothing to say About a life long wait for a hospital stay And if you think that I'm wrong This never meant nothing to ya I spent my high school career Spit on and shoved to agree So I could watch all my heroes Sell a car on TV Bring out the old guillotine We'll show 'em what we all mean Yeah yeah, oh If I'm so wrong (so wrong, so wrong) How can you listen all night long? (night long, night long) Now will it matter long after I'm gone? Because you never learn a goddamn thing You're just a sad song with nothing to say About a life long wait for a hospital stay And if you think that I'm wrong This never meant nothing to ya So go, go away, just go, run away But where did you run to, and where did you hide? Go find another way, price you pay Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa You're just a sad song with nothing to say About a life long wait for a hospital stay And if you think that I'm wrong This never meant nothing to ya You're just a sad song with nothing to say About a life long wait for a hospital stay And if you think that I'm wrong This never meant nothing to ya At all, at all, at all, at all

Reading through all the comments... The only thing I can think of as a reply is "Bless Your Hearts". I was an old broad when I discovered MCR through my 12,13,14 year old daughter in 2004, 2005 . I had always been into music and had even been in bands throughout my life. I know music. Of all the bands she was into, MCR really caught my ears. Well, the first album, I thought, well... too much death, too chaotic, pretty much all over the place. The second album seemed a bit more cohesive, Sweet Revenge, and we were definitely getting somewhere. Much better lyrics were being written and I like good lyrics that paint a picture and tell a story. Some great songs on that album. I was really impressed with the influences I heard from Led Zepplin, Queen, etc. Guitar work was always nice, tasteful, skillful, driving and playful at times (Referring to the Woody Woodpecker lick in one of the songs (Dead?) that made me laugh out loud!) Drums were always perfect for all of their songs. And being a vocalist who loves harmonies, I was getting really impressed with some of theirs! I knew that this was one good band! Along comes Black Parade and I automatically knew these boys had finally found it! It is a masterpiece of an album! I immediately felt Welcome to the Black Parade was their Bohemian Rhapsody! Amazing piece of music that has like 3 different movements had circle back to ones previously established. I felt like a proud mother seeing her sons make good! I got absolutely giddy when MTC premiered the video for Welcome to the Black Parade! I LOVED the video, the uniforms, all of it!! It quickly become my favorite CD to play. Me, an old broad at that time, at the age of 50, and digging on MCR as much as my 15 year old daughter was! I took her to see them in concert when they were doing the Black Parade tour. It was really good and I enjoyed it immensely, but I must say, they can't do the vocals live like on the albums. It was still an awesome concert! Afterwards, I was able to sneak us in to a meet and greet for autographs. Ray was great and so was Bob. Both were delightfully chatting and joking with us. Gerard... He looked tired and I immediately got the impression of burnout... Even Mikey gave off that vibe to me. Too bad, because I think that was what was beginning to happen and that it seemed to come through in the lyrics in some of the songs on this album. That's when I knew they were in trouble. I didn't care at all for the next album and then Poof! But this album, Black Parade, would've been hard to follow for any band. It is exceptional! The vocals and movements in This is How I Disappear are marvelous! Black Parade, I've already said, is their Bohemian Rhapsody, Sleep is absolutely haunting, as is Disenchanted which is one of my favorites. Sharpest Lives, House of Wolves, Famous Last Words - all fantastic! The only song on the album that seemed the bit out of place was Teenagers. I never cared for that one. Now, that I'm hearing the song, Heaven Help Us, that didn't make it on the album, I'm convinced that it should've replaced Teenagers. Bravo to the boys of MCR for this incredible album! They should've won some grammys for this! I still listen to it at times at the really old broad age of 67, and STILL get impressed!

Wow ! This must be the longer, extended version?? I don't remember the songs "Heaven Help Us, Kill All Your Friends, or My Way Home Is Through You" ! Also now it's like after all these years, "Give me a shot to remember" in sharpest lives can have so many meanings: a gunshot, an alcohol shot, a shot of something IV or A vaccine. As a teen I thought it was just a gun shot between quarreling gangs.

Is Gerald Way Gerard's evil twin? I've seen a picture of some news paper before were there was a picture of whomst seemed to be Gerard, but it said Gerald instead. So I take that as evidence for my thesis too.
