It's been over a year since 5.3 and I'm still completely ruined as a human being.

The real irony is that child prodigy Elidibus had some real hero worship going with the Convocation, no small part of which would have been Azem's world-traveling heroics gathering and inspiring companions. There's no question that he modeled his own Warrior of Light heroism after us, but he's completely forgotten who inspired him and how They say a good villain should be a reflection of the hero...

They did an unbelievable job with making these characters feel like family.

I can't get enough of reactions to Emet's return. It never gets old. He and Luke had the best return cameos in 2020.

FF14 could have ended here and nobody would have complained. 5.3 had the perfect ending

I agree it really feels like it wrapped up everything nicely, but lest we forget that whilst Zenos still lives, there will never be peace. I'm hoping that Final Fantasy XVI tells as great a story as this for a single player game, I really live for this kind of content.

I honestly never gave a toss about the story tbh. Haha. I just played cause my friends played and I like doing different glamours. I literally have like 6 beachwear glamours and I’m just a hyur male.

Killing Elidibus hurt my soul, he did not deserve to have his soul basically eaten by the tower, I felt so bad playing through this. The writers did such an incredible job with the Ascians in ShB, I swear my heart can't take it.

@@ChiliFarmer Ishikawa Natsuko is such a brilliant writer, man, I would kill to have 1/10 of the creative juice that flows in that mind of hers. Not to mention the genius work Koji Fox and his team with the English localization. The writing in Japanese can be a little bit dry, but by the Twelve, the EN localization team knocked it out of the park with their localization.

@@ArdenVT Then why are we able to use their marks/memories, especially the one that was given to us by hythlodaeus. The 14th was the one who left zodiark . This indicates that we are the 14th. Also, the 14th was the one who summoned hydaelyn too, which is why we were kind of special and emet continued to test us by absorbing the light.

I now feel doubly sorry for poor Mangai back on the Azim Steppe. First he gets brutally rebuffed by Y'shtola, forever cursed to be known as 'little sun.' But now it turns out that Father Azim - the sun god whom he claims to embody - was probably named after the player character this whole time. I don't have the heart to break it to him. Anyone want to give the job to Y'shtola?

I think with the deaths of Lahabrea and Emet-Selch there were none left who remembered him and the world before. And as a Primal, he's based on the beliefs of those who give him form, without them, he's falling apart. It's why he gets so mentally unstable to some degree, and why he seems in such a hurry now to finish things. Just a theory.

@@Kaizuk0hakupac A corruption of his original purpose, since the partial Ascians would have been corrupted or brainwashed by the convocation jobstones. With these as his only worshippers, and them half being torn between him and Zodiark and then on top of that of Elidibus forming the first role of WoL and having people see him as a different kind of hero. Its very easy to see how fractured and torn a Primal he ended up being. I do feel sad for him since the last depiction of him as child is essentially how every part of the convocation saw him, as an enthusiastic child that tries to do everything perfectly. Its almost a perfect reflection of G'Raha and Alphinaud.

Our unsundered self once held the seat of Azem. Azem was a convocation member who refused to partake in the summoning of Zodiark and instead travelled the other lands to help other people. Urianger speculates that this was the origin of the gods Azeyma (the Eorzean sun goddess) and Azim (as in Azim Steppe). So *technically*, we are a god. Sundered, but a god nonetheless. I almost broke down when Seto and Ardbert had their moment but it took Runar to make me cry. I was so anxious that his heart was gonna be broken and I'm so happy that I was wrong. Y'shtola gave him a promise of reunion. She promised that she's making the impossible possible if Runar only wishes hard enough. For me, the ship has sailed. It isn't stated outright but she definitely likes Runar A LOT. The last 2 hours of 5.3 were a feels-train without any brakes. Can't fault anyone for crying. Best Final Fantasy story!

@@Volkaru I played it in German where she said that there are many mysteries left to unveil. I don't think it was meant as an double entendre but more like "I'm coming back but only to solve mysteries. Not because of you *wink wink*" But yeah, that ship has sailed for me :D

Ardbert is also likely another sundered part of Azem (but from the first reflection), which is how his soul was able to merge with ours (which is why Emet Selch sees as more as an Ancient after that seen with Ardbert plays out before the fight with Hades). So we're a slightly more whole Azem than we were before. It could be cool if we merge with other fragments of Azem's soul, basically re-unsundering ourselves. Maybe *we'll* have to summon Zodiark ourselves, to prevent something else happening that could be caused by the sundered ones (who, while they have taken up the seats of the convocation, they may not necessarily be the actual sundered fragments of the previous convocation members).

@@ophereon Ardbert is 100% a part of Azem, and every calamity is a rejoining so we have 9/14 of Azem assembled. We probably need to go find Unukalhai who mentioned they were a Warrior of Light from the 13th shard, the world of darkness, in order to join again leaving only 4 unaccounted for. Us as the source, 1 from Ardbert from the first, 7 from the calamites.

And yes we will continue uploading 4.1 through 5.2 after this :) (in several videos). Thanks y'all for being awesome. I love sharing these moments with y'all

Whoa, you actually recalled Thordan's final words while all this was happening and applied it, I'm impressed! It took me a while of thinking afterwards to think back and remember that it was weird Thordan saw us that way and was finally like OHHHHHH! I thought it was just foreshadowing us as a Warrior of Darkness but it was MUCH deeper.

@@ChiliFarmer interestingly, the other time we see that effect, like how Thordan saw us, the black and white, the shot etc... when Varis sees Zenos about to kill him. The framing is almost identical. I just have to wonder whyyyy.

4:00 Azem. You swore to Azem. Who is standing right in front of you. 5:20 But Elidibus has forgotten the reason. He forgot the people he's fighting for. Ardbert is reminding us that we never forgot. 34:00 This is the first real victory against the Ascians. Hydaelyn failed seven times to stop the other Rejoinings. But now the Unsundered are all gone. There will be no more Rejoinings (unless Fandaniel brings about one by accident).

Actually, it sounds like he and Zenos plan to cause an apocalypse on ONLY the source. The fact that "apocalypse" is the word used and not calamity/rejoining makes it abanduntly clear that this is no longer about Zodiark's benefit. Unless it somehow drives the population to worship Zodiark as he is the embodiment of salvation.

Yeah, as others state, Fandaniel wants to send Zenos after Zodiark, for some reason. Probably to either free a portion of Him or just become Him. And then we're probably going to have to do the same with Hydaelyn. And I can only imagine what'll happen if we use up the last of Hydaelyn's strength to defeat him, what with She being the star and all. I'm sure reality won't implode or anything.

We all been at this crying point. And i love Alisaie too but somehow many dislike her and Alphinaud. But the way these Chars developed is just awesome imo. And Graha when he does the ear-thingie. Damn it gets me every single time

Oh and might i recommend playing Nier: Automata to you? Did it myself after the copied factory raid. Im usually not into sci-fi but that game destroyed me with its awesome story and soundtrack. Was the best purchase in a while^^

the MC of shadowbringers is Graha, we as player are just the object that he is trying to save, and with 5.3 he succeeded his mission.

Elidibus was always a child.. a prodigy chosen to be the emissary and later the heart of Zodiark.. The "adult" one we see is a Primal..

Oh how I wish i could wipe away my memories of shadowbringers so I can experience it again for the first time ;u; I loved this expansion so much!! Thank u for streaming it too btw! What a feels ride lol

"I'm not okay" Don't worry, we all felt the same at that point.

With this, the Ascians have gone from Lawful Neutral to Chaotic Neutral, maybe even Chaotic Evil. Now that they're no longer "shackled" to the unsundered (Lahabrea, Emet-Selch, Elidibus) they don't have to cause Calamities. But now that they're free, who's to say their actions won't cause it anyway? By design or chance.

For those we have lost, for those, we can yet save. Feelbringer strikes back.

Eternal wind might as well be the name of this patch because that was basically the music that played for the whole thing I still is shocking to think that a child willingly sacrificed himself to become a primal in order to try and save the world. it puts a lot of things into perspective. Also I think I finally just broke down and started crying when I got to seto, I don't know why, but I felt like when he wanted to go on one more flight, that was him basically going on the White Ship and sailing to Aman like in Lord of the Rings, at least that's how I saw it. Basically his final rest was in the skies. I didn't think 5.3 was going to hurt me as badly as the first ending for shadowbringers... but somehow they managed to just make me emotionally broken and crying at the end. It was such a good way to end the story. there are some issues here and there I could say but in the end I think this was one of the best stories told so far.

I felt the same way. Although 5.0 destroyed me, 5.3 was the cherry on top.

Gods, so many emotions. I always underestimate how much I'll start crying even tho I've seen all this alreayd haha I'm so glad you're caught up now!

Nice job noticing Emet's hand wave! I didn't realize until it was pointed out to me after the fact because I was thinking it was OG Azem (which doesn't make sense I know, but it was what I thought in the moment)

Don't worry, I had the same thought/reaction as well. Really disappointed in myself for not noticing earlier.

Got so emotional when those gates opened when we were gonna wake Graha, for me those gates closed nearly 6 years ago and finally seeing them reopen

This is the first video I've watched of yours but i loved your reactions so so so very much. These scenes always make me cry T.T

I remember first doing this fight and the Quick Time Maneuver came up. At first I thought it was Hythlodaeus and I was like “Ayyy the homie coming in clutch!” But then I saw the wave… and I C R I E D for the rest of the fight. It was so beautiful!

You had me smiling. This story really hit all of us hard, I'm hoping to become a FF content creator as soon as I can get a nice office

I know it’s been a year, but I LOVE this reaction. I hope we’re able to fix things and then unyeet Elidibus from the tower to live with us in our world somehow.

@@goldenphoenixnaruto While I don't think that the Shards completely align with the FF game worlds, there definitely is some overlap if we look to the Omega storyline. Omega looked at the major fables of all the worlds and built her champions based on those, and what did we get? Exdeath, Kefka, Chaos, and so on. So it's not unrealistic to think the FF7 universe is part of it as well. That said, keep in mind that out of fourteen, 7 shards have been destroyed already and of the remaining ones, the first, the thirteenth and the source are accounted for. So that leaves us with only 4 shards that we don't know anything about, and IF those are what Omega looked at (FF1, FF5, FF6), we are down to one. Not good chances for Cloud, really~ 😉 Of course, that's all speculation, really.

Note that immediately after the Sundering, the Shards are or were all identical reflections of the Source/the Star. Obviously, they changed to varying degrees over time. In summary, the Shards are all variations of FFXIV’s world.

I tend to think my English is not bad, but I don't understand the scene where Y'shtola says "on such a day... you may call on me". Why does everybody seem shocked at her long pause? In what other way could she have ended that sentence that would have been so shocking?

every thime i see this i know why i rather play FF XIV than go into a movie more action drama and fun than any of the BS from Hollywood!!!!^^
