The vet said he was so good when he drained the abscess. I think he is a good boy, plus it probably was a big relief to get that pressure off of his face. I'm glad he is ok now. ❤

This happened to my cat and he looked exactly like that. It was due to a cat fight. I could not afford the thousands of dollars they wanted to operate on her. I wanted to try a couple other options first so they gave Him an antibiotic Shot and they tried Lansing it on two different occasions to get the pus out which didn’t work. I told them sometimes cats need a second antibiotic that stronger, I have experience with helping stray cats. She said I don’t think that will work but I will give him a stronger antibiotic, he was in so much pain he had to be on morphine. Within two days of the stronger antibiotic all of the swelling was gone. It looked just like a baseball it was huge! Something to consider, if that didn’t work I would have had to do the operation. I’m so glad Your baby is feeling better.😊❤Bless his heart

D'artagnan is a real sweetie and was so well behaved during the treatment of the abscess. So glad he's well again.

Oh,poor Dart,such a good boy. He has been to this vet many times so he knows these are nice people who can help him feel better. He trusts them. That's why he so well behaved. Great to see him recovering. ❤

I agree, he trusts this place and these people, but I also think he was miserable. Probably running a fever fighting the infection, and we all feel drained and delirious with a fever. He felt so bad, I don't think he felt the incision, and the draining of the abcess relieved some pressure and pain. He is getting older, and the safety of the recovery cage was comforting: he could talk to his buddies [Pamuk] and still be safe from the rowdy youngsters, who were probably responsible for his scratch that started this. It is good to see our D'artagan, D'artish back to good health.

Poor lad. Obviously an Abscess and things happen. You are a great cat dad. D’art a sweet kitty

Oh my! His face was really swollen! I'm so glad he healed quickly. Thank you for taking such good care of him.

We have over a dozen cats, so we're not strangers to abcess treatment. Glad to see Monsieur D'Art recovered well. 💜

He is a favorite. Usually they're from bites but also claws. Quite the gentleman at the vet. Hugs and kisses for you D'Artish

That was some abscess. He's such a great patient because he knows he will be treated and get better - he's had history, and now, he's upside down with happiness. He knows he's loved. ❤❤

When one of the Walter Santi cats is having a problem, I feel that I know them so well because of the videos that it is like my own cat having a problem. I was impressed with how brave and wellbehaved D'Artagnan was. He knew he was in good hands. I was not surprised that kind Pamuk was checking on D'Artagnan while he was recuperating in the cage at home. It is wonderful to see that D'Artagnan has recovered and is back to his old antics in the yard.

So happy he had a happy result! His previous experiences with illness and treatment have taught him he can trust you and the vet!

my dearly departed himalayan cat had an abscess once. frightening how much it swells and then poof it's gone when drained. glad D'Artagnan is recovered.

I'm glad the sweet boy is feeling better.

I've drained many abscess from cats. The worst one was my neighbors cat. She was out of town and the cat came to my house because he couldn't swallow any more! The abcess was so huge it was choking him. I lanced it and more than 2 CUPS of pus and stuff came out!!! The cat could finally swallow!! He drank a lot of water after that!!

I was in the middle of writing my disertatiom and at a crucial part when this video's alert came on my phone. Saw D'Artagnan's little face come up and I thought, "%&@*> this!" and attended to the video immediately! Love all your cats xx D'Art is a special soul as we all know. He always knows when you are helping him, I remember when he was sick a few years ago, again then he just let the vet do what needed to be done. I know you will never know this D'Art, but i really so love you so much ❤

As we all know, not all cats are the same, but some are amazingly good. I had a cat with a gigantic abscess on his belly (we didn’t see it until our poor cat got lethargic) and he had 4 drains installed to drain it. He spent a week at the vet and *never* needed to wear the collar. I would visit him and he would sit with me and gently lick *around* the drains. Quite amazing!

Also rarely they can get them from sharp grass seeds working their way into the skin. But that might be only in Australia.

A million hearts thumped painfully at the sight of sweet-natured D’Art in distress. He knew his Dad would make everything alright though, and let the lovely vet team do their work and remained calm and unruffled. He’s such a serene, wise chap! (I do hope Miss D’Art’s Girlfriend at least deigned to check in his recovery!) Isn’t it always fab to see cats revelling in feeling 100% again, after treatment! One of our cats got one of those too. Glad you skipped past the treatment. Because it will have looked nasty (poor D'art). Our cat had it on her back leg and once they shaved the area there was what seemed like a giant hole there. I was like 'Kitty how are you so chill about this.? And I said to the vet no way would I be this calm if I had a wound like that. They said well cats conceal when they are injured or in pain (cannot show weakness to predators) which is why it's a problem telling if they are ill sometimes. Good job dealing with that. I have to imagine that was a bit stressful for all concerned. Still no bucket of shame at least :-)
