My Cancer Story - How I was diagnosed (Hodgkin’s Lymphoma)

Resulting from many people advicing me to a video sharing my cancer journey, here I am.
In this video, you'll learn about the symptoms I had and the entire process in the hospital.
I apologize for my broken english and for rambling, I do not intend my future videos to be as long as this one - this is all new to me.
In a future video, I will be doing a Q & A about everything related to my cancer journey, that many have been questioning me about.
If you have any questions / curiosities to ask me, please do comment on this video or contact me on Instagram.

Russell of CA-USA here. Thank you for sharing your experience. Because I have a lump on my tongue, and I am at the beginning of my search for answers regarding the consequences of this troubling potential disease, I find it comforting to learn how you coped with your tests, pain, Doctors behavior and etc. Also, regarding your command of English, please, please be assured that your dialogue is moving and well understood, in my opinion. Particularly your grammar , pronunciation, vocabulary and ability to stay focused is awesome. English is my first language and my performance would be shameful by comparison. I hope your mother is well, because she worries about you as only a mother can. I hope your treatments continue to be successful and time will relieve the stress of this life experience. May your good health be the gift of the season, Xmas that is. Beautiful name by the way.

The courage you show in dealing with your problem. and also sharing it to help others, is just exemplary. I have much respect for you. I do hope your therapy is successful. I'm still on 'watch and wait' for what my specialist (incorrectly?) terms MGUS. (I suggest incorrectly becuase I've had many symptoms, though relatively mild but MGUS is by definition meant to be symptom-free). Good luck!

Thanks for sharing all this information what you have and are going through. I was looking on here to see if anyone was going through the symptoms I am and found your video. I have fibromyalgia already but I found a knot on my neck like you had and the itching started happening then the night drenching sweats and chronic fatigue. I lost my job because of my fibromyalgia 2 months ago and I need to see my doctor but I'm waiting on my Medicaid card. Thanks again for sharing. I'm praying for you. God bless!

I've been feeling the way you described in the beginning for about two or three years now(my dad even said I'm out of shape because I couldn't last mowing the grass on a hot day for 5 minutes). It's why I'm getting checked out. I messed up my school grades last year due to this exhaustion...the exhaustion really was bad since it was sooooo hot. Was panting just walking to class.....(but it was hot...)I also, last year, was chasing a cousin's dog in the back yard and couldn't catch my breath, which never happened before that day...I always enjoy chasing pets. Had my labs come back about three days ago saying my hemoglobin is low, my mom thinks it could be an iron deficiency and I hope it is...I also have a cough but it's just annoyingly a ticklish cough but it's lasted maybe five years straight and comes and goes(it sounds like a wet cough).

btw the english word you were looking for was fasting. A lymph node is the same thing as a lump btw English has like 5 words for the same thing lol. I am not 100% sure but I think a tube from the cartheter goes up to your neck (maybe around where the swollen node is/was/is about to be gone) you can ask about it tho(it might be why you have that other scar).

Rafaela Guerreiro yes I was in constant fear of relapse and thought about it daily but as I started healing and my visits to the a Doctor became positive the fear started to subside and now I hardly think about only when check up appointments come up. I think we will always have it in the back of our minds. Has your hair started to grow back? I looked in the mirror every single day after my last chemo for any sign of hair 😆

I had a lymph node biopsy 5 years ago. Negative. But I've recently got much worse, non stop night sweats and itching all over body, literally top of head to toes. Constant nerve pain and frequent infections. Painless swollen lymph nodes (and itchy) all over body. Tired, weak, fatigue. So I'll most likely need another biopsy soon. Praying in Jesus Christ's Name that its lymphoma, so I can finally get treatment and be done with this! Its maddening to not have a diagnosis after 6 years. Thx for ur video!! God bless you

By the way, progression of my monoclonal gammopathy has halted since I started taking 8 grammes of curcumin with piperine and vegetable oil per day. I know it's not medically approved as yet, but it's non-toxic and seems to be helping me. I know there's a lot of research being done with it at present, though the big pharmaceutical companies will only be interested if they can synthesize it or process it and patent that so they can make money.

Thank you for your story-I know it’s many years after your original post, and I’m hoping you are recovered. I am a US senior citizen, our medical system is always held up as better than anywhere else , particularly those social / nationalized systems as in Europe… I can tell you, if you are in the workforce and fully covered by your employers insurance, you MAY be ok- still not guaranteed… but if you are retired and on Medicare, it is WORSE than any European socialized medical system. Don’t believe the hype that American medical system is the best I. The world- it may be if you are one of the 1% - other than that, you are toast

Hello. Thank you so much for watching and asking how I'm doing. I'm officially in remission now, had my last chemo session in June. I am doing very well, tyring to get back on my feet. I am currently having the normal routine appointments at the hospital to check if everything's okay. My immune system is still not too strong, it's going to take a little bit of time for my body to recover from chemo, but I am already feeling a bit stronger. I need to be cautious during the first year after chemo - I am not allowed to be in the sun, go to the beach or pools, I can't have alcohol and need to be very careful with my skin, to avoid any infections. I was advised to start exercising, so I've just got a membership at a gym where I intend to start doing yoga, boxing and pilates, to start with. My doctor told me that it's good for me to start having a more active lifestyle, not only for now, but for the rest of my life - it is only be beneficial for any of us anyway, right? So, now I am currently back at work, hoping that I will remain in remission for a very long time and free from cancer in the future. I will take a good care of myself. I am not very good at doing videos, so I apologise for not posting anything else after this video, but I normally do update more on my instagram account. Thanks again for caring, wish you a lovely day. Ella xoxo
