MY BUSHCRAFT SHELTER IS DESTROYED! | Solo Hammock Camping & Cooking Burgers In The Woods!
#bushcraftshelter #bushcraft #bushcraftcamp
It was a shock to arrive at my old shelter spot to find that the majority of the woodland has been completely cut down, but thankfully I had my hammock as a backup. This discovery made me even more determined to start a fresh new build for the winter.🌨
I set up my hammock in the fallen pine woods and reminisced of my time at the shelter, as I enjoyed my fire cooked burgers watching the bats fly on by.
Why not comment down bellow and let me know what you’ll like to see in my next bushcraft camp.

Well Josh I'm truly sorry about your shelter but look at it this way. You still have your memories of the old shelter and now you can take what you've learned and build a better one and make a lot of new memories. It may be a sad end of one but it's a wonderful beginning of a new and I'm looking forward to taking that journey with you. Dwayne

I can certainly relate to how you must have felt loosing the shelter. In a different context but same theme, I spent three years building and maintaining a secret mountain bike single track trail. I returned from a holiday, to find that the woodlands looked the same as yours, with no evidence left to show for three years of weekend and evening work gone. I actually cried over it, having literally putting my life and soul into it. Everyone said, don't worry about it, start again. But I didn't, now instead enjoy a bit a bike packing and wild camping. Thanks for sharing your superb clip, and good luck with both finding another site, and building another shelter. As an aside. I envy with having little aircraft noise. I live close to Ashdown Forest, and it is impossible to get away from it.

Oh buddy! Don't give up! It sure hurts when it happens but if it brought you joy at the time that's what you can cherish even if you don't build again. But would be awesome if you did.
What are you talking about Josh ... from what I hear that was a typical English sunrise ..lol. Loggers are the same the world over mate .. slash n destroy. If you haven't seen TA Outdoors vlogs he has amazing shelters for ideas. Like your style expect the unexpected when it happens. Bushyboy Oz.

Think of all that fatwood, just lying around, you'd need the UNIMOG to drag it out the woods 😆
This was beautiful, such a positive attitude that makes me smile 😊 Thankyou 🤘
Sorry to see your Covid camp flattened. Time for a new project. The bat footage was epic, I see them in my garden. But they move so quickly, 😂 You caught their movement beautifully.

Great video. To bad about the shelter but now you can start a new chapter in bushcraft. thanks for sharing your journey.
I just enjoyed your new video but sad about your shelter. I know you will build bigger and better next time. 👍🥰 I certainly loved the part of the video that showed the chubby little bee with the flowers 🌺. Very well done there. In the future, I would like to see you try to build a sturdy chair and a simple table. Both will make food prep lot easier.😊
@campingwithjosh

You should check out my camp I had with Simon in one of my vids, I made a chair. 😁 worked a treat! But I'll defo make another chair plus a table for my next shelter build. I love bees! I filmed these ones especially as my mum has always had a love for them and it's a little hello from me to her as I know she'll be watching.
That's tragic! You'll find another beautiful spot, I'm sure of it! Cheers!

I've had a few shelters found and destroyed the best thing to do is move on to a new location and build a new one every build gives you more experience and you get better at build but building in a working forest it will always be found and taken down it's all part of the game atvb Jimmy 😎😎👍👍

Bummer about your shelter. Think I would have been afraid to camp there, lest the tree eating machine munched me in the morning. I hope you can get a "permission granted" kind of location, so you can build a place without fear of it disappearing. Best wishes, maybe a modified dugout for winter? Take care, be well

Absolutely gutted for you, heartbroken. But, this is the reality of forest camping in the UK. All I can say is, you'll be good for a while before they replant and regrow the new 'stock'. I'd have some of the processed away and get a cabin built, just around the corner, they've logged that area, so good for at least a year or two.

Another cool vlog dude shame to see that you shelter has been lost but on a personal note loved seeing the big forwarder machine and all the brash wood will more than likely become biomass so some good will come out of it 😊😊

Just found your channel. Lovely videos!!!!! So sorry about your awesome shelter 😢
Very few things are quite as depressing as going into what you think is woods, and find a ravaged clearing that looks like a bomb dropped there, except not quite as nice... Anyway, just a word of caution about that insect repellant thing: it contains prallethrin, which is very effective against mosquitos and midges ... but also affects bees and other beneficial insects as well, and it's not really recommended to use it outside of a garden or other such clearly limited areas. Not that it isn't tempting to use when swarmed by mozzies, but personally, I only use my Thermacell (which uses similar mats) only when nothing else cuts it.

So I actually bumped into the one of the owners a few years back and he's completely fine with people building shelters as it's a working forest. He also told me fires are fine just as long as you know how to get rid of one.
I find pine woods have no soul uniformed rows of future pallets and IKEA crap 😂give me broadleafs and a river anyday
@ 17.17 I think your flute is broken.
