red rose This is Punjabi influenced Pashtun culture. Real Pashtun culture is different. We don't wear those clothes during our weddings.

ethan intellekt no my friend, this is Pakistani Pashtun culture. What is real Pashtun culture? Afghan Pashtuns have different wedding traditions from Pakistani Pashtuns as they are in a separate cultural sphere with Tajiks, Uzbeks etc just as Pakistani Pashtuns are in a cultural sphere with Kashmiri, Sindhi etc Just because they speak the same language doesn’t mean they are culturally the same.

Genuine question - Was Dina's family not invited? Or if they were, how come they didn't show up? As in-laws, shouldn't there be at least some interaction, especially for family weddings. Okay, maybe not interactions on a day-to-day level, but definitely for big events and stuff there should be interactions. I don't get it.

I think dina's family was in Palestine at the time. Also desi weddings can be crazy, so sometimes even direct relatives don't attend all the functions, regardless of invitation. Some people only choose to attend the walima or the nikkah.
