@@hollykeller1545 some people choose to keep the patina on the outside of their chateaux because it adds a certain charm to it! But cleaning it would make it look very new and fresh so you can’t go wrong either way.

I like dishes, own several designs by Villory and Bach, so Philip and I would be buying all the China and por elaine. Steph....my father after serving all bomber missions, was shot down over Italy, resulting internment in a German POW camp, 22 mo. Long eventful historic story. You are a genius Stephanie.

We were honored to be the first guests to enjoy the lovely dinner on these special "K" plates (handwashed by Stephanie too.) The tiny mustard pot is adorable which could also be used for LaLande honey? A truly magical evening, thank you.

My stepmother did. 😂 Only two of them were full sized tractors. Her John Deer model collection is on custom selves and will be enjoyed by great grand children she never met. We also gave her crossing signs, paintings, a sewing machine, and an object of art. ❤

Everyone is critical of Philip's constant porcelain and junk collecting but I think it's important he has something that is his own thing at Lalande. It can't be easy to be a young man totally dependent on a partner for his salary, accommodation, lifestyle, travel etc etc etc. Sometimes in life you just need one area that is your own exclusive domain!

Phillip is still young and unfortunately comes across as a man child. It must be challenging to be surrounded by older, talented people, living in Stephanie’s chateau, adapting to her lifestyle, her friends instead of investing in his own life, being with his peers, growing and developing. I completely understand Isabelle’s reaction to his obsessing buying.

He isn’t a man child, he is gentle soul with an artistic passion and finds joy in everything and everyone both two legged and four legged. As for being dependant on Stephanie, theirs is a loving partnership and he makes a valuable contribution of the running of the chateau and the renovations. He’s not an Amaury (he is unique) but his artistic flair complements Stephanie’s visions and Isabelle’s practical nature.

I was just trying to highlight what a tricky position you are in when your job is really predicated on you being someone's partner. Also we develop skills and experience as we progress through life so probably by the time he is in his 40s he will be a true indispensable expert on all things Chateau related. This is his apprenticeship!
