Nice review. I all my years of bow hunting and archery. What is most important is how the bow feels to you. I hope you enjoy your bow.. I shoot Mathews V3X 29 and a bowtech REVOLT. My V3X 29 is set at 78# 28.5 mod. Shooting 301 fps wt a 420 grain Easton axis 5mm arrows. And my REVOLT is at 65# 29inch draw. Shooting Blackeagle outlaw arrows at 283 fps. Both bows are tuned awesome.

I agree. I just made a video about sighting in my bow and in it, I shot the new Mathews LIFT and while I really enjoyed the few shots I took with it, the single cam on the Resugence LD was super comfortable and smooth. We will see what I do with it later in the future

I have had both Bear and Diamond bows. Both are a good, quality bow. The best bow is the one that you feel most comfortable with and can shoot consistently. I like hearing guys input on gear and equipment as well as tips on overall hunting. Good video, we subscribed to the channel. We have some gear reviews coming out during the off-season. Good luck with the new bow!

I completely agree about the comfortability and consistently. It makes me wish I had gotten a new bow sooner.

There’s nothing more fun than getting a new bow. Especially one that feels exactly right for you. Those single cam bows are generally rock solid and perform super well. Looks like the bow shop there was the real deal. I hope the guy that set you up knew his stuff. You did a great review here. Good Luck hunting.

Honestly the guy at Sportmans was great. He had been doing it for about 13ish years and really explained a lot of the process to me. And I couldn’t have picked a better bow for the time being for me that just makes me want to get out and shoot it

@@DylanJustesen1 awesome! The great thing about a bow that you like and fits your body is you will enjoy shooting it and will end up shooting a lot more. And shooting more arrows is the key to being a good shot.

Awesome bow for sure ! I bought one a couple months ago for a backup. I agree with you the draw cycle and transition into backwall is amazing. I got used to shooting all the newer dual cam bows and forgot how smooth a nice single cam is ! Seems to shoot quick and fairly quiet.

I think as the year goes on, I think it would be interesting to see how far I can push this bow. I might even see if I can buy my dad one to replace his old bow

Bro. Best unsolicited advice I can offer you 20years in the game use the equipment that works best for you . If it works and feels good in your hand use it. Forget names and brands and Gucci priced stuff . Fred bear did it all with stick and string . Enjoy archery man

I agree with you 100%. I went to the range today and they had the newest Mathews and Hoyt bows there which I tested out but I really felt like even after using the top of the line bows, I was just as satisfied shooting my budget bow.

I will be. One of my goals for my self in this upcoming year is to learn to hunt big game. I used to hunt small game and bow fish, but never anything larger. And I will be filming some hunts I will be going on with some people in December. Im y minor in college was film production so if you would be interested in my camera setups and what I will be filming with, I can make a video on that!!

@@DylanJustesen1 for sure. I filmed two of my hunts last year. Low light quality is definitely an issue I’m having. That and just managing the difficulty of actually having everything in the right place at the right time. I have taken 4 deer on film this year as well, but haven’t got around to editing any of the footage yet. I have a second channel for the hunting, this one is more for beekeeping. Other channel is @driecutoutdoors . I’ll subscribe to see how your season goes.

I think that is what I will have to figure out on tree rigging but for cameras, there are so many options. I bought a super budget camera for this channel that I can take anywhere and “vlog” if I need to without losing too much quality. I actually used all of this video and I was super impressed, especially for the intro sequence

Those Shurz-A 3-way splitter peeps suck, dude. You're always going to get a string shadow in your field of view and will subconsciously try to peek around it, thus changing your anchor point and mechanics. You're not going to get consistency from shot-to-shot.

  • @DylanJustesen1

Ok!! That is super good to know. What would you recommend to replace it? I have only ever had the peep sight that had the tube the stretched behind it and this, at least from my limited knowledge, seems better than that.

@@DylanJustesen1 If those stock Bear strings are good enough, you could install a normal, 2-way splitting tubeless peep. Worst case scenario is replacing just the string with a premium string to keep costs down - cables should be okay once settled in. Stock dtring should be good too, once settled in, so shoot it in first and see if your peep starts turning. If you decide to get a new string, make sure they twist it left from top cam to bottom cam. This will make the serving twist in a manner that clocks your arrows to the right for right-helical-fletched arrows.

@@l.i.archer5379 this is super helpful honestly. I was honestly thinking about getting a new string in March- April time frame. What type of strings would you recommend?

@@DylanJustesen1 America's Best Bowstrings. If you ask, they will make the string to naturally clock your arrows to the right (aka right helical), if that's the way your arrows are fletched. Most bow strings that come on the bows clock arrows naturally to the left (aka left helical), and will fight your arrow's right helical fletching for about 11 yards before starting to spin to the right. This causes the arrow to lose energy and basically 'knuckleballs' the arrow coming off the bow. Personally, I make my own bowstrings. Took me 10 years to perfect my technique, but it's well worth the money saved, and time saved waiting for them to arrive from a string maker.

What is this guy talking bout 250 $ peep sight and didn’t know what brace height I’m not sure he’s gonna be happy with that 300 dollar bow I’ve seen some Bear costing close to the other top brands I’ve had a Bear before trying to save some money Tried to sight it in had trouble between 30 to 50 yards then it wound up blowing up They told me it’s unfix able and I bought it as is Last time I do that

It was more of the running joke of me not spending more money on a bow, but an expensive peep sight instead. Haha. But the bow was really more of a good base for me to see where I can go from here
