If a company is going to mouse spy then tjey track the mouse for non patterned movements. USB Mouse jigglers, and mouse "movers" like described here are still noticed as non human behaviors.

I just set my teams to "appear away" or "do not disturb" even if I'm at the computer. Keeps them guessing.

This is a cool idea. I wrote a VBA script in excel with a sendkeys command hitting scroll lock every 30 seconds in an infinite loop. Sendkeys simulates key strokes and keeps teams status active.

Just be careful that the boss does not think hey i am calling you for that update and finds nobody at the other end 😂

Luckily, I have a job where I am not being stalked like that. Some colleagues of mine even turned their status to "offline" permanently. They'll reply when you chat them, but you always have to just guess they're there.

MS Teams gives companies analytics that show how often you send messages and can build pattern reports. Its easy to catch mouse jiggler's if your boss cares to do so.

Being constantly available MS Team is equally or more suspicious! Teams can actually set you as "away" if you not focused on that window for some time despite you using the computer and working! I have experienced it MORE SO on Mac however but I show my boss this and told him he should in fact be worried that if someone is ALWAYS available it means they are constantly focused on the the Teams window either chatting or in meetings all day! After, he made sure people didn't go to meetings they didn't need to be in (which was MOST meetings) than he pushed everyone to be more hands on with their JIRA tickets and keeping them up to date everyday based on what they did or didn't do that day for that issue which was easier for him to check and verify and then he left everyone alone. Everything became FAR more relaxed and more productive!

Also I should mention our team was getting shit for this from other Team leads in other departments cause "we were never active" on Teams and never showed up to their stupid meetings but at the end of the quarter we were the only team delivering or coming close to delivering, while the other departments and teams didn't come close at all! We check most of them spend 70% of their time in meeting and chatting, whilst our Team ONLY had the daily Stand up with a 5 min max time frame, two weekly meets one for ours and one with one of dev teams and the occassion meet for the unexpected wrench in the works. but that was it! So despite the other teams and department mangers complaining to C levels that we weren't working, While they were just talking about working, we turned out to be the only ones that WERE working! lmao

@@Fettupwithyou yeah of course because I work in IT/Devops and we were the people that have to set up and enforce the checks to ensure people weren't spoofing their KPIs (brought in by the CEO). And they are hammering the wrong people even fired some people before while the piss takers that didn't do their job at all causing us to fall behind on projects putting the whole teams role at risk, were left untouched and even being patted on the back while not doing a thing they're being paid for! So yeah, I investigated the issue and reported what I discovered to prevent the wrong people from getting punished while actually doing their job all because of a stupid inconsistency with a bloody chat app! You do these things when you see harder workers being let go while wasters are applauded and talk of an entire department getting axed starts circulating! I love how quick fleas are to out themselves in comments sections on youtube and other social media

It's things like this that ruined working from home for my wife.

Most people have GPT4 analyzing and summarizing their PDFs, have it coding python graphs and formulas for their excel spreadsheets, have it turning those analyzed pdfs into word reports and powerpoints, etc. No one who knows about chatgpt is doing all that constant busy work anymore. AI is doing all of that now.
