    Hi. I have enjoyed your videos but just today decided to subscribe. I bought a F750GS in November 2019 but with winter here(Scotland) and 3 Covid lockdowns, I have only ridden the bike 3 times. During the lockdown, I bought several gifts for my bike and you have videos for some of them. Barkbusters, Sargent seat, engine guard and crash bars, Radguard all still to fit. Thanks for your excellent information. Stay safe.

    Nice summary of your mods Pam. The only other bits I personally think improve the bike is: Replace footpegs with sw motech ion ones....they are height adjustable and much wider. Fit the adjustable screen bracket from the 850GSA Fit tool box behind left pannier frame 👍🇬🇧

    Thanks for the review Pam and shame about your leg. If you haven't done so already you can polish out the windscreen scratches using varying grades of car or boat polish, going from coarse to super fine. If there are really deep scratches you may need to start with some 600 grit wet or dry paper and again get progressively finer up to 2000 grit, and then switch to the polish. Sounds hard but a small section can be done in a couple of hours.

    I've heard good things about the Madstad windshields, if you plan on changing it. Pricey, but worth the money, from what I've seen from the reviews. I just bought a F750gs, and need to spend a bunch on upgrades, starting with the windshield. Do you use your heated grips? Wouldn't those grip foamies block the heat? Thanks for the video. I might need your advice in the springtime, when I do these upgrades. Cheers!

    Really good modifications. In the future I will probably change my windscreen and put on some tank bars. The first thing I will do is probably some panniers. Today I have the vario cases and doesn’t like that they are loaded from the side.

    What panniers are you replacing it with?

  • @JoonesAdventuresMC

    @JoonesAdventuresMC

    @@TrackOurJourney Thats at really tricky one. I dont really know what to chose. I am leaning towards hard panniers. Atleast they give som type of protection. Maybe not from thieves but from curios people. The oportunity makes the thief. And the hard panniers allso can be used for camping furnitures. On the other hand soft panniers is better to protect the bike and my legs so maybe soft panniers is a better choice?. When I will be riding with luggage 95% or more will be on tarmac and the rest on gravel road. I dont think I will ride real offroad at all. No riding at single track no ridning i mud no jumping no ditch passing. The bike it self is not made for serious offroad ridning. If I planing to do that tupe of ridning I can skip the harde panniers and only use drybags.

  • @TrackOurJourney

    @TrackOurJourney

    3 жыл бұрын

    I feel the same way with the 750 gs and it's offroading capabilities. I think in that event, I can just use my 701 and switch back to enduro instead. Also it looks like you will benefit more with hard luggage for your purpose. Initially, when I bought this bike, I thought I would get a hard luggage, because when travelling I will be mostly in towns, gas stations, etc with lots of other people and maybe just the night for camping, which there are so many opportunities for theft. Especially where I live, people are opportunistic, I do not feel safe leaving soft bags on the bike at all. They will cut it/something just to see what is inside. But instead of getting hard panniers also, I just have a very large 58x shad expandable case, which fits all my stuff and can be locked while i'm in cities. However, when I am travelling and using the mosko bags, I bring locking straps, which hopefully prevents theft, but who knows... There was an occasion a couple years ago, when I was just in my local gym and somebody opened my soft panniers, but luckily, I only had a microfiber and some plastic bags there at that time. when I do leave my bike I try to just not leave anything I would greatly miss inside the soft panniers. lol

    I’m buying a used 2023 750 this week with 1600 miles with a Sargent set and many extras, but I am concerned it doesn’t have the lowed suspension. Thought about selling the Sargent seat and buying their low seat. I’m about 5ft5 what do you think? Also I never rode adventure bikes before,but always had a Honda shadow.

    You have to sit on it an try it out and see whether you will be comfortable with the current height. I am 5'3" and I tiptoe on a lowered 750GS and that is ok with me. So maybe you will be tiptoed but can have both toes touch the ground? The bike is fairly light compared to an 850 GSA or 1250 GSA which maybe easier when bike is moving very slow or just having to move it manually. that is quite a deal (not sure how much you are paying for it) but low miles! wow congrats! The 750 rides super smooth, you'll love it. If the price is definitely a steal, maybe lowering it could be an option also.

    You still have a cat you just got rid off resonator, pipe looks and sounds awesome,,,,, the thing what you removed from your exhaust was spark arestor? In park such as national forest I think you should have them in because without you could start wildfires... If you are not using BMW gps bracket, would dismount if its me, weird spot, just follow the wire and you will find on front right side is connector for the unit, actually if you decide to use any cheaper GPS you gonna be able to rewired connections there. If you ever change your windscreen check the Madstad, is adjustable, have a winglets and also tilting mechanism which you could let some air in in the hot days. One thing what we doing for my wife's bike is adjustable folding shift lever, seems to me crazy the bike came without folding mechanism, the area is so exposed together with quick shifter , any off road fall can do expensive damage and ruin the trip.... thank you Verdons!

  • @TrackOurJourney

    It would be nice to have spoke wheels but i think for what I use it for (mild offroad. The stock wheels is good enough) I mostly use this bike for long on road commutes/travel not so much offroad since I also have a husky 701 enduro that one has spoke wheels. Much easier to pick up everytime I fall.

    Thank you! I really like it. I bought this bike mainly for commuting and longer trips on the freeway. As it is very windy where I live and using small dualsports is a real pain on the highway. It is a very comfortable bike with all the little perks it comes with like the heated grips and the automatic upshifts on the clutch (I am not sure how else to call it). I cannot say anything about the triumph tiger since I have not owned one. Although I have friends who have tigers and of course they love it too. It just comes down to personal preference I think. Good luck on your search! BTW, You can also look into the 850 GS or GSA as that seem to be better match for the engine cc comparison. The 750 is cheaper though.

    the 850GSA is my partner's bike. So I use the 750 GS most of the time. Right now, during foot recovery, I am having a hard time putting weight on my left foot, so I have been using the husqvarna 701 just to get the movement and feeling and normalcy back into my left leg without dealing with pain from excess weight from a heavier bike. I can't wait to be back to normal again, hopefully soon I can go on trips again and camping!! I also ordered the reckless 80 for the 701 since the BC 35s are so big and a little heavy for a smaller bike haha. I have spent so much money on mosko stuff lol

    Personally I would not start on this bike because it is not cheap beginner bike. But if you are a pretty big person and expert in bicycling and learns really fast then maybe it's okay for you. I would recommend something lighter in the three hundred pounds or less range. That way you can get your confidence up first and also buy something cheaper so that if you drop if you don't feel so bad. But then again those are just my opinion. Good luck!

    @@TrackOurJourney Britain seems a small place, but there is soooooo much to see and do, for me biking in the Peak District or Northumberland in summer is best, Cornwall and Devon are two of the best parts of the UK, and the cities are huge, London is massive. If you have limited time try to see some of the coastal areas, Wales and Scotland, the lake district are tourist traps, trains are reliable but expensive. Bottom line there is sooooo much to do here if you have money to spend! If you do London its a bustly place, faorly safe, actually the UK is safe overall, Wiltshire and Sommerset are underated areas to visit ( you have stonehenge down there) im based in London, just work all the time, like most city dwellers, i have got around the country before though.
