My Blown 57 chevy gets some upgrades
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
On this episode I finally handle some upgrades thats been on the back burner for quite some time. I fit the chrome reverse wheels over the giant Wilwood brakes because I love the look of a 70's hot rod. Unfortunately the Cragars that were on it didn't fit right so I had to pull them off. I also install a recovered original bench seat thats been sitting in my bedroom for a year. Mike Cotten and myself will be attending Battle in Bama May 30th-June 1st. If you're in the area come hang out.

Teaching your kids practical skills is so important. Getting hands on is a great way to learn too, not just watching Dad. The best part is how eager your son is to be involved.
Love that fact that you have your son helping you. Those are memories that he will never forget!
Watching the two of you takes me back to being a kid and learning to work on cars from my dad I lost him almost 24 years ago
You are a great dad. I enjoy watching you and your son together. He's a good boy.
Great to see a Dad and Son spending time in the shop together. You are passing on the love of cars.
Your boy is awesome, so cool to see you teaching him mechanic skills. We definitely need more of this to keep the classics alive.
As a soon to be 41 y/o whose father just turned 60 and I grew up helping him wench on old cars (specifically his 55 chevy 2 door post) it warms my heart to see the next generation taking an interest in old cars as well as a father willing to teach them.

Im 40 and my oldest daughter is 13 and we just scored her first car that she went with me to look at and pick out and is super excited to help me pull it apart and work on it. 289 4 speed and she's adamant of keeping with the three pedal mafia lmao. All my rides are manuals but I didn't really expect her to want one too lmao

@@damianlindsey6177 You sir are doing amazing work. My kids have no desire to drive anything manual. Hopefully that may chance now that my eldest is 16. I salute you
Getting the kid hands on experience is great. He's a natural!
Best part of this episode is watching you work with your son. Fantastic!
YES! So glad you've reunited those perfect steelies with this 57! Just the most perfect look ever! 👍👍
We can hear how much BOTH of you are enjoying this!! Dave, you're teachin him stuff you don't learn in school. Man, he's a sponge to your lessons!! Awesome kid!! He's gonna be set for his future and RUINED at the same time. He's already got the fever BAD!!
D, between you and Derek, I get so many flashbacks to times with my Dad and Grandfather when I was a kid. This is the good stuff. Thank you for this.
Love working with my son. Always great memories and he learns a lot.
Too funny. Same type of birds are chirping in my yard in unison with the video. Tweet tweet
How many kids his age will be able to say the first car I ever drove was a 64 Impala!?! You're a rockstar dad, Dave! Awesome show! Hot Springs, Arkansas
I clicked for more 57 Chevy action but stayed because the bond you're forming with your son will be one of the most important things to him throughout his life and will make him do the same with his children.
Great episode and the bench seat is da Bomb! Your son's enthusiasm to work on cars with you is magical, and your patience with him is something every father understands. 👍
Your son driving the impala reminded me of the little island I grew up on. No cops, so as soon as you could see over the dash and reach the pedals, you had a "White Head island licence". 😊
Working with your son. Making amazing memories ❤️
So awesome that you got your son involved! That ROCK!
Hey 12 Volt Dave, I love your family being involved in what you do. Your son is all fired up with your gig; so cool man. It's also cool to see your wife helping you. My wife used to help me all of the time when I was doing jobs at our home shop back in the day. You are a great dad.
Very cool!!!! 🤜🤛
Memories of my eldest being around 8 months old and "helping" me service my old Honda. Good job man, it's what children need to help them realise there's no shame in good honest work
So cool your kid actually helps
You got yourself a SOLID helper.
I love that you’re getting your son involved. Good decisions on the wheels! 👍
Good Change ... Bench Seat SOOOOOOOOOOO Much Better.. Bring On The Green
Boy I miss my dad! Oh and about the wheels… I couldn’t agree more🙂🤘
What a good dad. I was always helping my dad at that age to. Learned alot. I was running heavy equipment by 12 lol
Quality time with the boys - it's a beautiful thing!! Even the Mrs. gets in on the act. You Sir, are well and truly Blessed. KUTGW!!😎
The Little Man is doing a great job! Well done! The chrome wheels look awesome on the '57! I like it!
Hate to say it but I'm jealous of you guys getting to spend time with your kids like you do it's great . Moments to hold onto.
Great video with the kiddo! Can’t agree more on the wheels too.
Great to see you passing your passion for hotrod on to your son.
Its great your son is interested in helping you out. My kids at his age couldn't care less, more interested in playing with their friends.
Heck yeah !! Those wheels are much better .
Really cool your son is with you. Safe adventures 👍🏼👍🏼🙏🏼
As all the comments below mentioned, you arent just creaing a resto mod,or hot rod, your greating a man with skills .Good on you,at that age I was helping my dad on small aircraft and helos in alaska, guess what,I became a mechanic in the United states Coast Guard and later worked in the rebuild facility in NC.61 and also worked on all my muscle cars and lifted trucks but will have a lifetime helper/son and thats precious when other kids got game controlers instead.
That is a SWEET ride, pimp!
That's what that car is supposed to look like!!!!
Watching you and your son work together reminds me of helping my dad fix the diff on his mud truck when I was 8 🤣 but on a side note we definitely need a tour of all your vehicles Dave!
Priceless - and the cars pretty cool also
You have a great helper in your son!
your 57 is my favorite youtube car !!! love the blower surge !!
Nice Job Kid 😎🤙
Nice teaching your son to wrench..more fathers need to do this brother

HOLY PHOCK thats a good lookin car
Bench seat is a nice touch. Looks good!
The 57 is looking good 👍👍
Thank you for swapping those wheels!
Pretty epic including your son, sir. Thanks for the content 🤘
That's so cool that your sons are working with you in the garage. I love your patience with them, and how you are explaining things to them.
Really enjoy your content Dave. Great videos! 👍👍
Really cool stuff, Dave. Your boy is a real "up and comer"! Carry on.

Bamma is going to be crazy craig puts on a great show
Dude you and your son is exactly how me and dad was
Cool looking 57 chevy David.. the green front seat does look better. look forward to the next videos.
Your's is my favorite
I Love Cragers but those chrome steeliest are just so right . Good here there are there to stay
love it so dang cool
1000th like right here .. that's right. 😊
12 Volt you're doing awesome Especially since 24V seems pleased with less car seats in the house.
Dude, love these videos, keep 'em going👍🏻
great to see the kids involved and after seeing your better half, you clearly married out of your league. ;)
LIKE THE WAY YOU INVOLVE SON IN PROJECTS
Dave your a great dad.Taking the time to teach your son.Its a wonderful thing.
It sounds mad👌
My kids ask for ear muffs when they run the impacts lol. Hes a tough kid!
Brings me back to working on cars with my dad. “ I said deep well. Does that look like deep well to you? GO! Omg you’re a glue foot kid.” Lol my old man was wired up tight. Now I get to bark at him for not holding the flashlight right. Love it.
Great video Newbern!
I love it. Having your son a part of what you enjoy. The skills he will have for a lifetime. I am thankful for all I learned on our Georgia farm. Much love from south Georgia. GaMike
A lil slip, a lil grip, and a whole lot of action!
When we see a person with their mouth open here in the uk, we say theyre catching flies!!!
Can’t wait to you and your son start a project
Awesome episode buddy
Good call on the wheels
Great stuff!
I like the green patina
KZread algorithm just randomly put you on my feed for the first time today. Been watching you on Finnegans channel and motortrend for a long time. Happy I found your page. Gonna catch up now! Watching from Philadelphia
I love Crusty, that car is really good in every way. Don't ever sell it!
David, your son is the best, he is going to be just like us! The future of hotrods there!
I love seeing the kid learning.!
Glad to see the kid wearing hearing protection.... too often overlooked in our hobby
It'll look really good with a paint job.
Some like cowel hoods, some like flat, some like a scooped hood. But fatherhood is the best of them! Yeah, i know cheesy, but still!
Hey Dave, I used to have a 68 El Camino SS396 with Z28 wheels. Bad ass set up. The wheels were gloss black with chrome lugs and chrome beauty rings. They looked great on that car and got lots of compliments on the setup. I used BFG TA 50's for tires with the letters out.
I knew that you were gonna get those wheels off of the Impala. It's just not your style to have big wheels. And it's so cool to see you spending time with your boy. That is what it's all about
So awesome how you are with your kids. Reminds me of when my kids were young.
Newburn's for the win.
Really COOL to see you and your son doing the changes to the 57! The steel wheels look WICKED, especially having 10 inches in the rear instead of the 8 inch wide wheels! Can't wait to see it with a hood! PEACE ✌️
Your son will be telling you what to do before too long. Enjoy watching you teaching him. He has the bug.
The 57 looks so much better with those wheels! I’m not a huge fan of cragers so I definitely say get something else for the Impala. Maybe some wide steel wheels in the back and stock steelies in the front with stock hub caps!
That 57 is screaming for a set of old, unpolished Cragar Super Tricks with the 3-inch skinnies up front!
Need yourself a set of those bullet center cap for them smoothies. That’d be slick
I vote for America Racing Torque Thrust 14"x 8" wheels with the natural dark cast spokes and polished rim wearing some red stripe wide tires. They looked great on my 64 SS 327 Impala.
Great video love seeing your family involve and I cant believe you let the lil fella drive thats awesome he will never forget that. one regret I made was I never got my kids involved because I wanted them to play sports and concentrate on school but they are now getting into it
Great stuff David...
Always heard of your name from Dan, but never looked up your channel. Excellent content!! Best vid I watched today. Father and son taking care of business!!
