WOWSERS Joe :-D absolutely BEAUTIFUL blooms you have had on so many of your Cacti and Succulents in May, you have had so many blooming already, and such an awesome display of different flowers and colours, they are all incredibly gorgeous, and thats fantastic you have added all the names on the plants as its brilliant to help growers with the ID of their plants, the weather has been so up and down here too, very sunny and warm for a few days and then followed by days of cool and cloudy weather with torrential downpours, its so hard to pick a favourite as we LOVE them all haha, but my favourite cactus flower colour is deep pink, thanks so much for sharing the stunning beautiful blooming update with us Joe, and Hans and I are sending you lots of love and happiness and PLANT POWER to Bavaria for a blooming incredible weekend XXXX

@@cactusjoe I have a question about cross pollinating... When you are successful at the pollination, will there be fewer seeds than usual? Will it make more seeds if you breed it to its same strain or species than if you cross two different cactus together? There is about 15 seeds in each of my Grandiflorus x Troglochadiadus berries. And usually there are a lot more. Does this mean the cross failed or would it be a good sign as long as there are some seeds? In your experience, what is your opinion? Thanks Joe! Hi Mark, that's a great observation and question. I have had the same observations and in my experience there are indeed normally fewer seeds from these more "distant" cross pollinations. But the fact that the plant has generated seeds, albeit fewer, in the first place is a very good sign! Best of luck with the germination and growing of your new seedlings! I am 100% with you, and I too am a fond collector and friend of all things Euphorbia and caudiciform! Hard for me to take sides when it's them, or cacti ?... but I've so far managed to grow both reasonably well side-by-side. During the winter months however I keep the cacti separate and much cooler. Hi Joe! The content and production of this video are outstanding! You make me feel like an amateur! Even with your “iffy” weather, your cactus did not disappoint. There are many stand-out moments…your Lophophora are looking particularly nice and all of your plants are in obvious top-notch condition. I was glad to see your new, old Riconensis and Ornatum flowering! As far as color and beauty go, my favorite color is the Parodia mammulosa f. rubriflorus-such a unique shade. As far as having an overall “wow” factor, I pick the Parodia concinna f. joadii. I’ve never seen a flower like that-WOW! And the award for understated beauty goes to the Rose of York. I also could not help staring at some of the spines. Thanks for making and sharing this video, Joe! What’s next? Take care!

HI Joe, I recently came across your wonderful website on KZread and have just finished playing through the last two years of your terrific greenhouse plants. What a fantastic collection you have! I live in Geelong, In the south of Australia. We are now in to winter. My tiny collection of cacti are in an old bookshelf outside which faces east. So far they are doing well. My favourite coloured flowers in your collection are the creamy pink tinged ones and the pink. I also have a big collection of echeverias and other succulents, but am becoming more and more partial to cacti. Thank you for sharing your great knowledge with us.

Haha, indeed Adam it is quite an achievement of this plant to stay upright, especially when it goes super top-heavy with blooms!! I believe in nature it grows in high grasses and shrubs for extra support! I grow it inbetween columnar cacti in my collection😉👍 Thanks for the awesome feedback, very much appreciated! The wonderful old Thelocactus from 1977 was seed-grown by a fellow cactus grower here, who sadly passed away two years ago, and I adopted the plant from him early last year. First blooms now in it's new home. It's very special to be growing such a wonderful, old plant, it's like a family member to me! ☺️👍🙏🌵🌵🌺🌼🌸💚😎☀️🙋‍♂️🏜

That was a fantastic show for a rainy day 👍🏻 Your Lophophora trays are real stunners and I also like your group of Strombocactus disciformis. Of course, the Thelocacti on the display table are a real eye-catcher too 🤩 By the way: My olive tree also started to develop its flower buds now. And what is also great to watch is how the pads of my opuntia soaked theirselves up again now after they had become very shrivelled during the winter. So far all is fine here where I live, but many other places unfortunately are badly flooded 😔 Great to hear about your olive tree, sounds like your plant collection is in very best of hands! I am glad to hear that you have been spared by the floodings. But still, it's quite unsettling how severe weather conditions seem to have become more frequent during the last years, as you know, I also had been struck by a severe thunderstorm last June. Now on to a positive aspect: Warm congratulations to - well-deserved - 3000 subscribers you now officially reached! 🥳 I think it is a great way of connecting with like-minded people by commenting on what has been going on on your end and also exchanging what I and other subscribers are recently up to. I love the pinkish white flowers on your Thelocactus hexaedrophorus ssp. lloydii. That plant kinda reminds me of Coryphantha poselgeriana, which is also one of my wish list cacti :D
