Actually more important Gibson needs to ship their guitars in climate bags like Martin and some Taylor’s do. My Gibson Elvis Presley Dove shipped in the coldest month we had this year (Feb 2023) and had a lacquer check/crack right down the centre seam after opening the case….Even after waiting 24hrs.

On any other channel this would be clickbaity but this is one of the few that literally NEVER clickbaits (unless it's for comedic effects). That's cool to finally have reached the level where you can put an order like this together and actually get them all. Even a lot of dealers would have trouble with it, I think, because it's not "whatever we send you" it's "what you're requesting". Good job building up the channel and thanks for a cool video!

Only minor things but Gibson is supposed to be the greatest guitar maker in the world (and charges prices to match) so they really shouldn;t be shipping guitars with any issues however minor. Just a little gripe there but if I had that Sparkling Burgundy I wouldn't mind as few cosmetic flaws 😎

Trogly is a beast. Historic record indeed. When I was 14 I bought a Gibson explorer from my local store for around $800. It was a E90 dbl. For 2 decades, I had no idea what I even had. When I really wanted to know what kind of guitar I had, I called Gibson. Was not able to get any info. The only info I could find was Trogly's review. Stale was a major keyword here. I'm a bit Les Paul'd out, but overall the 50's is always the version for me. Gotta have a beefy neck. Out of these, I dig the amber, blue and fuchsia. And your take on what makes up an awesome flame top is quite the fine line. The ones I thought were outstanding, were just ho-hum. It's subjective, I get it. You've got some major inventory to move now!

The natural backs look so great! It gives these a fancier look. I know people say it's cost savings, but it's really not. It's more work masking off the entire body except the top than to just spray the entire guitar one color. And they still have to spray the entire body in clearcoat too. Yes minor savings in finish cost, but countered by more cost in labor to paint it. Also, I'm disappointed in both blueberry guitars you got. Neither have enough purple in them to get that nice color transition. Great guide though for choosing what to get. Sold me on 60s versions and a few of the colors.

Great job, Trogley! Now, for all you fellas that like your Les Pauls without a pickguard, but the one you bought has a pickguard, truss rod cover screws fill the pickguard holes perfectly. Just pick the chrome or gold screw that matches the rest of your hardware and Bingo! The screw head is round so it is smoothed out just right. Just a tiny dot of sympathetic hardware rather than a hole! A tip from an old guitar strangler and Trogley fan! Again, good job Trogley!!

Of course that got smashed along with the volume pot. The dealer wanted me to take it and have it repaired and I just didn’t want a repaired 3grand guitar so I sent it back. That was quite a haul of Les Pauls. I liked the oxblood finish and the flame not being so obvious. I think a similarly dark blue would work too. Generally I like the neck and the back being natural mahogany except for the black/ebony finish where I think having the whole thing black works best. I'd also like to see an occasional Les Paul with a maple neck and rosewood fingerboard. I know they did them for a bit in the '70s and there are mixed feelings about it. Plus there are maple necks on the LP Tributes and old models like the L6S that work OK.

they sent you the good flame tops for sure. I've already seen tons that just look like...wood. crazy that they're upcharging for what's the same top as the Classic had last year

A few of these I really like. The oxbloods are my favorite. I bet they will age well. Glad we didn't put them on the bench or get a playing demo...lol Not ready from a 4hr Trogly movie. Great job glad you did this. You are the guitar unboxing king in my book.

Not a Les Paul guy but i do love the natural backs. I Agree the burgundy was the nicest and then the Amber. I think the ox blood is basically for someone who likes ebony but with a twist. Wish they had some with P90s!

The foam block helps protect from jamming the strap button in the bottom of the guitar, although it would probably work better if it stayed in place. Thanks for the documentation on all the examples!

25:56 YES! *an oxblood that's transparent like that where you don't need the flashlight to see it would be AMAZING.* i get that you might want the flame to be "less" visible... but not INvisible. that would be SUCH a damn vibe. you could bend it towards a lot of styles! i'd absolutely want one. i like deeeeeeep cherry/ox reds like that. but you can't even see it. and i could imagine doing that kind of dark burst would look great on a lot of tops, where it does a fade almost to solid on the edges. or at least dark enough you need the flashlight to see through. that top as you shine the light on it is such a great color. gorgeous. and it's a regular little tiger under there! as is, though, literally only the owner would know it's an oxblood. it just looks BLACK. there's not even the intrigue of "OOPS, THOUGHT IT WAS BLACK BUT SAW A FLASH OF RED AND STRIPES." just too dark. but that would've been cool though. definitely would even want that version too!

My tribute came with flame "binding". Mine is a mod collection one, but I have seen others in the store. The Studio might have some, but those are fully painted/not natural back so it does not look like that.

What a vid, Austin! Kool way to do a video! Definitely went out of your comfort zone here...Sure would like to ROCK the Classic White. Reminds me of a Zero candy bar with that mahogany back. I'd call it ghost white and nickname it ZERO. My 2nd choice is the Amber major-striped axe! what a beaut!

Burgundy (sucker for the color) and Blueberry burst were the only 2 colors I liked really. Tobacco Burst is usually my finish of choice, with or without a flame top, guess I like the vintage vibes. Also have a soft spot for Gold Tops but that is just because my favorite LP was a GT, it just played and sounded so nice.

What can I say? I never "got" blueberry burst, but that blue back really sells it. Overall, I'd say sparkling burgundy is the biggest hit with blueberry burst coming second, oxblood would be the miss with ocean blue coming second to last. Perhaps oxblood would look better when it fades (if they even do fade these days), or just do it in a burst like you said. I think blueberry burst would work better as a teardrop burst. Actually, on the oxblood burst, maybe if it had the sparkling burgundy in the middle and then traditional red on the back, that would be a pretty sweet look. Side note, first time I've come across one of your videos 12 mins in with just 899 views
