I really like this answer alot.

Mine is the same. I wish I had started sooner, but I didn't have the income. My 20's were me figuring out my life, figuring out my career, getting an education in my late 20s. Now I just turned 30, got a 2020 Iron 1200 that I've already put the Stage I on and made my own cosmetically, great career along with my wife who also has a great job. My 30s about to be poppin and my motorcycle riding is going to be a big part of it.

I just got my motorcycle endorsement in July and I got my first bike on my 35th birthday, a 2021 Iron 1200. I’ve been wanting to ride for a looonnngggg time, but I just kept putting it off. My wife got me registered for the class as a surprise for Fathers Day, so I can thank her for me finally getting on a bike. I am LOVING it!!! Love cruising the rural open roads.

@@Pipes61874 I think a 1200 is fine for a new rider. At no point did I feel like the bike was too powerful for me or anything like that. It’s a smooth ride and if you’re riding responsibly there’s still plenty of power to have fun with.

I just started riding about 4 months ago I will be 26 this month. It has been an absolute joy, like you said the people you meet and the stories I get to hear.

Thanks for the shoutout brother! No regrets here, I definitely believe everything happens for a reason, and timing is Clutch in life 😉. When I was 15 I bought myself a 30cc “GoPed” from Ginos Cycles in North Philly from working a summer job and rode the heck out of that lil Jawn all around Manayunk. My 20’s came and passed and in my head, learning how to shift gears seemed impossible and daunting. Then I turned 30 last year & the Pandemic hit me really hard with a couple of my close homies peacing out too soon and it was finally time to pull the Clutch! Dude I didn’t start riding till I was 41 and I am about to be 45. Now that’s a double edge sword because I regret not riding earlier in life but I do feel good knowing I started riding. I have meet so many great people in the biker world. Hell I ride with an MC now and I f’kin love it.

Dude, the way you said hoagie at the end had me dying.😂 I'd say my only regret is that I stopped riding for awhile, guess I needed the time away to realize how much I missed it.

I’ll be 50 in December and had finished my MSF class over a month ago and got my Motocycle’s license and bought my first Hartley 48 sportster. Love it !!!

I regret not starting riding earlier also, but might have been the best thing with my wild young years.

That's a good point though!

While it's been an adventure, if I had to pick a "regret" probably trying to make a touring bike out of a 1973 Z-1 might be it. I say "might" because learning from an experience isn't something to regret. I always had "The Gene" to ride, but didn't start until 1984 at age 28. I got permission from my wife to buy a bike after my employer welched on buying me a company truck. I won that battle. But, it set off a dispute between me and my late father that resulted in us not speaking for 10 years. During our final battle I asked if he saw me as an adult or a child. When he said "I see you as my son" that made no sense to me and we stopped talking. It took years after he died for me to grasp his message. We did get together for two years before prostate cancer took his life. Would I change things if I could somehow go back in time? No. He couldn't accept that I was captain of my own ship and I couldn't accept that even though I was closing in on 30 he was still doing what fathers do: protect their children. Today, I regret that I couldn't have retired earlier so that I could have ridden cross-country with my brother in law John. I retired in April; he lost his final battle with Agent Orange last November. Tomorrow, and sometimes even today, are promised to no one.

I also regret not getting into motorcycles and motvlogging earlier. I wanted to start riding when I was 21, I'll be 31 in August. I wanted to start motovlogging in 2016. But due to several brain surgeries and seizure I couldn't ride. So I guess it's not fully a regret, but I wish my brain didn't have all those problems so i could have rode earlier and met all my motorcycle friends earlier. But at the same time we're all riding, motovlogging, meeting new people and still have our whole lives ahead of us, right? So yea we started later then we wanted to, but we'll be where we want to be in life soon enough! Nice video, rideo safe out there 🤙🏼

My biggest regret is I didn’t start early riding a motorcycle, I just started riding at the age of 40 with a scooter first. I just prioritized the needs of my family before. Now just I just saved money and already bought 2 Harley’s and a Vespa. Enjoying riding it if free time permits

That is why I have been riding 52 years now. 56 if you count my first dirt bikes. Nothing like being in the wind. Ride safe!

I started riding at 10yrs old. Honda SL 70, 21yo, Honda CX 500, 33yo 1993 Sportster 883 Deluxe. I regret putting too much chrome on my H-D. It doesn’t hold up over time. I still have it. De-chroming it now. And not riding more. But I can’t complain. Ride on!

I just bought myself a 2020 iron 1200 and had put some time in effort into it. I had recently bagged it to have room for stuff while I went on journeys. This is my first bike ever and I am 25. It’s only been about a month and I was so excited about how my bags came out on my bike I rode it to my parents house and they live down the street and sadly a huge spot puddled up with water that I did not see when I was turning made me lose control. No broken bones just some road rash and cosmetics damage for the most part on my bike. As soon as my bike is repaired from the shop I will be back out there again humbled from the experience of my fall. Be safe out there 🤘🏻🤘🏻

I have been riding off , and on since 1983 , got my first machine at 20 years old . In 1994 , I got more into motorcycles , 12 metric cruiser's , 1 Triumph , 1 Ironhorse , and 12 Harley-Davidson's later , I wish I had stayed with it more . I still have 4 of my H-D's , 2 metric cruiser's , and I love motorcycles more all the time . My biggest regret is trading my Raider S , and Stratoliner Deluxe for a Street Glide , should have kept them . I still have my first Harley, an 883 XLH , I absolutely love a Sporty, great medium sized bikes , and very capable machines . Thanks , and ride safe .

I can relate 100%. It’s not just a motorcycle regret, but a life regret. I have been on 2s for only 3 years and I’m in my 40s. This winter I picked up a sporty 883, 2012 for a buddy of mine who is a new rider and it was the first time I had ever been on one. I loved every thing about it except interstate speed. A 1200 will be mine come winter. Not that I’m getting rid of my big bagger metric mind you, but like Is to short to not have the huge smile on your face that a sporty gives you.

What if a dog ,deer or a racoon steps out in front of you at that speed,what's does one do?

I started riding at 16 and had a GSXR-600 at 18. I don't regret it but it would have been a lot safer to wait until later... Surprised I survived my youth.

I also got a 600cc at 17. Never experienced speed like that before in my life. Then I turned 20 and bought my 1200 nightster and built it making over 100hp. Bikes are a blessing but you need to know how to ride.

Mine is not travelling more when I was younger. I bought a van when I was 19 and never actually packed up and left. I ended up selling the van and continued to work multiple jobs. I started my trade at 21. So really from 17-21 should have been spent travelling Australia and picking up casual work along the way.

I started riding at 30. Later than most. I do wish I would have gotten into riding sooner. I have had some awesome experiences tho in the short time and hope to have more!

I’m thinking mine is buying a 48’ instead of a iron 1200. Reason; peanut tank, which I thought looked really cool. But it gets annoying filling up every time you go out. And of course the infamous forward controls, which at first I thought I would like. On another note, what pipes do you have on your bike? Are those still stock?

I am happy about starting to ride on the street since 17, but I regret spending so much money on bikes being so young😂💀

Bought a bike cuz single, young and making good money. Met my now wife, barely use for reasons, left my well paid job for medical reasons, wanna pay to go back to school instead of owning a bike. Bit of regret cuz I bought new and it'll cost me a few thousand in lost value, but I don't beat myself up too much, it was a different me who made that decision

I got my first bike at 19, but I'd ridden way earlier than that. Still, didn't get into vlogging until last Sept which is way late in the game cause I could have been doing this for over a decade now. I had a channel back in Houston of me riding around in my old track car miata and that ended up getting a ton of views simply because of the amount of time that it had been up an available for people to watch. I also wish I would have kept my old Honda, I got it so cheap and it would have been such a fun bike to tinker on these days.

Definitely wish I started riding earlier. Wanted to ride when I was in my 20s but my wife at the time and subsequent GFs all forbade me to do it. My current GF not only encouraged me to do it but also encouraged me to buy my Iron 1200 before I even learned. That was a year and a half ago. Now, my only regret is buying a Sporty instead of a softail bc I knew after a week that its just a little too small for me. I plan on upgrading soon. But yeah, I've met so many people just from riding, people LOVE the way the Iron looks and they stop and tell me all the time. Now, my only problem is figuring out exactly which bike will be my next one & if I'll keep the sporty as a secondary bike.

I was the same way bro. I thought my wife didn’t want me riding because it was dangerous but come to find out she thought I was going to buy a motorcycle and not like riding and it was just going to sit there … proved her wrong when I was able to put 4,000 miles on a grom in a single season. 😂😂. Now I have my SV650 and as much fun as the bike is to ride it’s just not comfortable riding 2 up so I’m on the hunt for a Harley Davidson so I can finally join the HD family!

2 is always better than one. There is so much you can do to stretch out on a sporty, it’s silly.

Regret not starting early is a good one but for me is I wish I was a bit more patient and waited for the right used Sportster rather than getting impatient (after finishing my MSF) to go buy new...

I started on a cheap Honda Shadow 750. Rode it around and went to the DMV for skills test, MSF classes were booked up out a year. Passed because I kept practicing daily before work. Just before riding season ended in 2021 I grabbed a Sportster 48 used with mods already done that I liked, for thousands less than new. Glad I did it this way!

My regret in roughly 20years of riding is selling some of my bikes that I've had. With the Royal Enfield I really have no regrets at all. I did a lot of research before I bought it and already knew how I was gonna build it. But no regrets with that. I regret not having had a ride with you yet lol !

Really love the scenery there. Maybe (crossing fingers) you upgrade to 4K. I started riding in 1985 at 22yo. My first bike was a '74 Honda 350 four that I found in a field on a local farm lying outside in the weeds. I asked the farmer if I could buy it for $50 and he said sure and signed the transfer literally with an 'X'. New battery, spray paint, shock oil, tires, spark plugs, lubed the cables, and away I went. Mom was not happy. She was sure I'd kill myself on a bike. My biggest regret is having to give up riding during my apartment years that lasted until I turned 40yo when I finally got a house with a garage. Been riding Harley Sportster 1200 Custom and I really enjoy that bike. Sometimes I consider upgrading to a softail but I like the lightweight Sportster so much that I can't give it up.

my biggest regret is that i did not buy a motorcycle when i was younger i am 60 and just bought my first bike i had gotten my motorcycle license in 06 and it seems like things kept coming up so now i bought myself a 2020 yamaha bolt and i am riding as much as i can, and will ride until i cant ride no more so who ever is thinking about riding just do it go get the bike and enjoy life ..... ride safe everyone ..

sorry guys same here i had a late start living in the city of chciago an didnt get a chance to exp. riding dirtbikes intill i moved out of chicago at 39 my 20s i didnt have it on my mind i stay in a area where alot of people ride so i watch you tube videos bout dirtbikes at 39 afew falls learned on my own at 41 two years later i bought the harley sportster 1200 an i love it i really wish i started sooner taking the test an class in three days i know how to ride but still need it on my Ls to cover myself i watch your videos an like an sub a while ago amoung a few others an i enjoy the ride it lets me clear my head an seems to be a stress reliever for me thanks for the videos

I've personally had alot of bikes but I currently have a 02 sportster 1200 with only 28k miles on it and I have never regretted getting rid of my sport bike for this.

I'm 30 and have always wanted to ride. I'll be honest, I was too afraid. But I've always admired from a far so to speak. Bunch of my friends have or had a motorcycle at some point and I grew up on quads and dirt bikes. Long story short the opportunity to buy an old sportster with a story from a friend kinda fell in my lap. It's rough, but I think I can get it going again.

Honestly, having dirt experience is invaluable when it comes to road riding.

Biggest regret. Impulse motorcycle purchases. I enjoyed them all but regret not taking the time to get what I really wanted for better price and wish I skipped a few. 😀😀

I go to hannums quite a bit. They might have one up your way.

Mine was rushing into buying a bike and not having the experience prior. The bike was too fast for me. It gave me road anxiety. Sold it to a buddy of mine who still rides it today. I will definitely buy another but a smaller one.

I stopped riding 2 separate times, I wish I didn’t. Too long to explain but if I bought that brand new 1985 Honda magnum I had my eye on, but didn’t, I may not have stopped. Also a couple years ago my wife and I took a week long trip on the bike, I wish we started doing long trips earlier. Funny I never wanted a Sportster, my son bought a 1996 1200, what a fun bike, so I went out and bought a 1979 Sportster.

Three new Harley Davidsons later (2017 iron, 2018 street glide, 2019 street bob)… I regret not buying my current (1995 sportster) as the first bike. So much money on bikes just to find out an old 883 chopped out, using my own hands to customize it, was the solution.

Resentment and complaint are appropriate neither for oneself nor others. Having no regrets is a regret.

I started riding in my 20s at that time was into dual sport bikes I got married and gave up riding for a while then got a Suzuki v strom and did a lot of tours then gave it up for while. I changed jobs and a lot of stuff happened and I ended up with a super low 883 and loved it but the Covid thing happened I was at university and a poor middle aged student so the bike got sold and I downsize my house to an apartment. It’s only in the last week I got a 2nd had Iron 883 from the dealer 2017 for 12K AUD my regret was selling it

Bought my first "big" bike in 2014 (I was 37). A 2007 Street bob. Then i sold it and bought a 2016 Road Glide in 2020. Now i regret my Street Bob so much. Thinking about selling my RG wich is too big and is lacking sensations. And getting back to a raw bike as i am rarely driving more than 50km rides now. So i am watching all the youtube videos talking about Sportser right now. But i’m afraid to sell my RG and regret it ... Life is really too hard to handle.

I saved up and bought a motorcycle when I was 19. I had a Suzuki SV650Sport. I sold it after 3 years and multiple speeding tickets. I don't have any regrets over selling it or even getting those tickets, my regret is moving into an apartment complex where I had no place to store my motorcycle which forced me to sell. I hurt my pelvis last year and can't comfortably ride a motorcycle anymore 😪

Maybe, Had you started riding at any other time than when you did, The Moto Jawn would not exist.

I regret I didn’t get a 1200! I got the 883 instead which is just fine but I really wish I had a 1200, 9 months later. Btw, I bought my iron 883 in October 2020 brand new at the age of 51. It’s my very first motorcycle!

My biggest regret is getting my 2021 sportster 1200 as my first Harley . Wish I would have just spend the extra money down and got the road glide I wanted . I will ride the 1200 for another season and then trade it in I guess. Just wish I would have got a bigger bike

I just can't get a battery that will last after I get this new one which HD dealer couldn't get them here from 2020 to 2023 this is my 4th battery in 3rd season my old bike battery last 7 years

I wished I would’ve got a new one instead of the older one but I don’t have regrets getting it’s 03 but if I had it to over I would have got a new one have put a lot of money in it lol

My biggest regret is selling my old bikes. I should never have ever sold any motorcycles.

I kinda regret getting my 2019 Iron It’s kinda turned into a money pit. It’s currently in the Service Department now having a stage 2 done.

I regret not riding sooner to be honest I’m 27 and been riding about 6 months my first bike is a Suzuki gsxr 600 I’m thinking about buying the iron 1200 and trade my gsxr for a 1000 or Yamaha r1

Crashed my ktm, still good nothing crazy happened just broke my leg lol the bike is pretty much fine, but I’m done with the sport bikes and just want a cruiser and been wanting a iron 1200 for a minute so will definitely be my next bike purchase

Biggest regret is meeting up with NevermoreMoto and Motojawn. What a let down 😂😂 Jk. In all seriousness, my biggest regret is how much of a money pit this hobby is. I thought you'd just buy the bike and be on your way, but no. The needle goes in and you want all the parts and gear to go with it.

My 2001 buell X1 that I have now is the biggest regret I ever had! Roanoke valley Harley screwed me out of 2k last year! I fix one thing on this POS, and something else breaks! Harley sucks! They suck, suck, and more suck! Go indian!
