Hi fellers and fellas. Here's an update and tour of everything I've accomplished in the last month on this world, it was oodles of fun. You might've seen some posts in r/GoldenAgeMinecraft of these builds, and I recommend checking out that subreddit if you haven't. Thank you so much for watching, I hope we can grow the Beta Minecraft community because it is a truly epic version! Tell yo friends.

It was so simple back then. Has a much more calm an chill vibe than new Minecraft. Glad they let us play all of the old versions
i dont know why but older minecraft feels like a game where u are supposed to be creative and build cool stuff modern minecraft doesnt have that same feeling
@RR-oo8je
11 ай бұрын
Yeah, I agree. I think there are several factors that may have contributed to this: 1) The shift from minecraft focusing on creativity/building to exploration. 2) Choice overload from the greater number of blocks to use in builds. 3) When we were playing older minecraft, the community was at a simpler place. People were less experienced and a base you would make in your world would often be comparable to builds you could find online. People have become much more skilled and have made a bunch of cool stuff with minecraft, but I find this can lead to me feeling like the stuff I make is less cool in comparison. Anyways, just some thoughts.

@@mashpotatosauce3566I wouldn't agree really; if I found something like in this video in a modern mc server I would enjoy it just as much as I did while watching the video. In minecraft I actually like to remember about old and (as it feels to me) a bit forgotten blocks like stone bricks, regular bricks. I myself ain't a lot creative but sticking with what feels fun to you personally generally does the thing xp

Disagree. "Modern" Minecraft still yearns for an individual's creativity and cool stuff. A lot of the time you guys just dislike change. That said though there's definitely a lot to be fixed with Minecraft today. I mean just visually this MC version has better and atmospheric fog. Survival feels more unbalanced and easier, it's only harder I guess if you're a beginner and had no previous experience of Minecraft.
This reminds me of those old Minecraft videos people would make back in 2011. The old style is so much more fun to build in.
Very impressive progress, especially the castle
Man I found you through The Last Beta Player, it's really charming seeing the world in just a cozy nostalgia way!
I've been seeing a steady uptick in Beta 1.7.3 content recently, it's quite a pleasure to see what people have been building with modern experience in this older version. It's just such a purity of experience, and a great source of ideas and inspiration!
That old door opening sound zapped my brain in a way i cannot describe
Recently I've been coming back to old Minecraft, gives a nice feeling playing these simpler yet fun versions that I hold dear in my memories, and finding people like you really make my day, your world is beautiful and you are clearly a skilled builder, keep it up!

Very cozy. I've noticed that golden age minecraft posters usually have excellent voice physiognomy. 1.7.3 is clearly the Chad's update of choice.
Very nice, glad to see someone to still play old versions, Alpha 1.2.6, Beta 1.7.3 and 1.6.4 are the best versions of Minecraft ever imo.
i’m liking hearing a minecraft video created by someone who has a vocabulary beyond gamer terms lol. nice video
Your voice is soooo soothing man. Really love your world and content! just curious what you do for work? I run a marketing production company geared around exotic cars during the spring summer and fall and part time management of retail store. Dont have to give too much detail just curious of the field you're in. Its fun to see how most of us beta content creators are just adults who grew up with the game, and its fun to see where everyone ended up

That mushroom spreading is kinda funny cause it reminds me how I loaded my old Beta 1.6 worlds on the 360 and found a cave absolutely FULL of mushroom under my house. They probably could take over the whole world if you played long enough.

They don’t spread in direct sunlight so their influence is limited, and they were further nerfed in release versions. But the mushroom kingdom never forgot… and they never forgave.

I think that modern mincreaft has way too many blocks that look similar, yet they are different. It is werid but I think it limits the creativity that you have with less blocks to choose.

just found your channel this week. this is super cool. i've been wanting to start a new beta world to do exactly this kind of stuff and this series has been the kick to do it. keep up the good work!
If there is one thing i remember quite well from the olden days is thinking how ugly the glass is
whoah, that gate, walls and watch tower are really class. I love that you built them in this version, must took a lot of time to mine all those materials.
Gonna watch the whole video tomorrow but I love that initial build. It feels very detailed for a Beta build.
You're a really talented builder - I loved every detail! As well as how much it really brings one back - I had memories flash before my eyes when I was but 8, playing on our beta server with some friends... You only know some of the best times once they have passed. 😄
Really inspirational builds, especially the big castle. I love how the wall and door turned out, it's definitely one of the best builds I've ever seen in beta. Btw 9x9 is enough space for normal mobs but because spiders are fat, they need 11x11 in order to get the maximum spawn rate
That castle is very impressive, Love it!

Ahh how’d you get the old door sounds? My 1.7.3 has the newer ones.
I know that this doesn't have anything in common with beta minecraft or anything like that, but I personally started playing MC in 2015 on 1.7.10 because my computer had some issues iirc and I had lots of worlds in creative but lost them all and a year ago I decided to start playing it again but on survival again, I have some cool builds already and a lot of plans that I'm not really sure if I will ever be able to actually do them, and also I have another world in 1.19 and a server with my classmates on 1.19. I know that 1.7.10 doesn't have too much in common with beta and some of the oldest versions, but it is actually quite old and beta versions aren't really too familiar or nostalgic for me as 1.7.10.
@Mongster83

I definitely understand that. 1.7 is one of those updates that people don’t really talk about anymore but was a big change and also pretty controversial at the time. Honestly back in the day it was my favorite, but that’s because I was a kid and just cared about the new features and not what it impacted. I’ve never actually played beta 1.7.3 before this world. I used to play pocket edition in 2011, then finally bought Java in 2012 at around 1.4. They added horses shortly after and honestly horses didn’t really fit everything I’d considered to be “Minecraft” at that point. I like Beta 1.7.3 purely because of the gameplay, nostalgia is a small part but it is just so much more laid back and rewarding.
this is badass
What is the mods you use for beta 1.7.3 (I dont need all of them if you cant but i NEED higher clouds)
amazing
beautiful
I wish I could play these snapshots on console. I remember deleting my saved data on xbox360 to play the original release although it bugged out a lot of textures and caused some glitches. Honestly playing Xbox360 minecraft from release was some of the best days in my life. I will never feel anything like it as long as I live and it's depressing. I miss the days when you would have a 8 person lobby 24/7 of people you barely knew. Now everybody has super sweaty builds and they can't trust anybody because they could grief. Gaming has gotten too serious I just want to be happy again
@DixieSchizo

I'd play the Oreos seed where you mine the gravel and it took you into a deep cave with like 20~ diamonds which was *crazy* at the time lol So many worlds on that seed. Obsidian trader hall/bank vault that never got used for anything but we believed it made sense. Playing on Gargamel seed and feeling such awe. Making a mine from the top of a mountain that took 5 minutes to climb to from bedrock. The steep enclosed valleys felt so much more intense than the current mountain generation. Omg the old hills and the old Beach generation bring tears to my eyes when I think about them. Modern minecraft makes me feel empty. I create impressive builds that take me many hours but I am empty. I am so alone

I thought I’d never recapture a lot of those feelings from my childhood that I got when playing the game, but playing beta has given me some of those feelings back. It’s not just a nostalgia thing, the gameplay is just a lot more relaxing. I’ve also never actually played beta before now, I started on pocket edition. Still I’d recommend trying, or joining a beta server. No huge sweaty builds, no griefing, usually people are friendly. Hope you find something bro.
