Hey guys, I’ve used to play Pokémon go for so long but I’ve been off the grind for a while now. I am a free to play player and my last memory was defeating mega rayquaza raids. I remember not getting enough mega energy so I left the game for a while. What I thought to be 1 week turned into a year now. The game has improved so much but I just haven’t been drawn to it. How have you guys burned out from Pokémon go or how did you guys come back?

Yo Daxi, hope you see this. Your info and content about strictly the game is top tier and always a huge help, but this series is the shining example of why you're my favorite PoGo youtuber. Your willingness to talk about what you've been through be it cancer treatments or therapy or anxiety or whatever it may be is so powerful. We've come a super far way as a society in how we view mental health, but there's still a long ways to go. And it's always going to be an extremely difficult thing for so many people on an individual level to reach out to someone for help, and the way you are so open in saying "hey I deal with this" or "my therapist told me this" help normalize all of these discussions bit by bit. I truly think there are people out there being impacted by this in a very real and positive way. As someone who's been through their mental health struggles in the past, I want to say thank you for helping normalize this and help people in whatever way that may be. And I hope you know that myself and so many other people in your audience care about you as a person too :) You got me yapping here and I don't feel like I've conveyed everything I hoped to, but that's the best I can do for now. So yeah, keep it up man, and I'll listen to you yap any day of the week

Brilliant upload Daxi! I agree with so much of what you are saying in relation to your points raised with Pokemon Go and the communities. I especially like your reference back to what your psychiatrist tells you and your memory of playing the game made me emotional. Many of us will have stories like that and a bond to the game and it's so fun to relive those. I never really thought of how content creation can be at times quite isolating and I hope that you know how much we appreciate your insight, tips and strategies and even goals and all that good stuff. Just want you to know that playing Pokemon Go makes me feel less alone and has helped me overcome social anxieties. I play because it makes me feel a part of something and it certainly helps getting exercise and whatnot. Keep being you Daxi and hopefully can meet with you when you visit New Zealand soon :D

I didn't have a phone until a few years back but before that, my friend would let me play on her account during lunch breaks. Maybe since I haven't played from the start, I am more excited about the game. The cool thing about this game is the many aspects. You can play in a lot of different ways. For a game that claims to be so much about walking, you can do PVP battles for hours from home, send gifts to friends, pop a mystery box. Or you can go on daily adventures and discover new places, follow routes, nominate new stops. You can challenge yourself with field research or battle raid bosses and events in between spice it up and add new features and pokemon or variants. Sure, not everything is roses but there is plenty to do, always changing.

about the "just find more friends" thing, we have at least 10 active people in town and no matter how much I invite people to raid days or comm days usually no one shows up, I do thankfully have one friend I play with consistently but making new friends isnt always possible. I have the contact info for 3 other players and I've never had any luck getting them to even step outside their house for 10 minutes... they occasionally pop up in gyms or remotely raid but never see them out and about

4:30 Having negative opinions is mostly pecause of the passion that a player has for a game or in general. It is also why some can get so titled when tilting, because of the amount of hours spend prepping playing/doing and loving the activity. the backside of this medal is that it also feel very rewarding when sucess happen

People need to realize that criticism is always going to be coming from the direct consumer (us, who play the game) in this case PokeDaxi. It’s just like me going to my favorite restaurant & getting some crappy service for that day but it won’t stop me from eating there because I know it’s not like that all the time. People need to learn to take criticism with a grain a salt. I generally love listening to what all PokeGo content creator have to say about the game.

I agree with the player who said something about the niantic employees caring, whenever you go to support for anything, outside of a known error that causes the raid to crash, you get nothing from them, they don’t even treat your concern as valid it just is brushed off. They manipulate the store( for example I buy the box with a ton of incubators every week, then when there’s an event about hatching eggs they will take it out so I have to pay full price for incubators, and then tell you the store develops the boxes using an algorithm based on my play style, which is contradictory)

I had a similar starting story, but mine took about 2 years to unfold. I remember downloading the game in 2018 and catching what i could from my room(which wasnt much lol) and thinking, thats it? Played for like a day or two and gave it up. Then in 2020, my kids were playing the game and asked me to play with them. 4 years later- I am addicted and they never play. As far as negativity goes, I love pokemon. Catching them in the wild when I'm traveling is awesome, but I feel niantic could do some things a little better. Its hasnt stopped me from playing, but perhaps its stopped me from playing as much as I could or from spending more than I do. We're critical of the game because we care!

Can't tell you how many times I'll say "knowing my luck" and it winds up being that thing. Shiny pokemon that shouldn't be there, hundos that I get way too often, etc. Go fest in person events have been phenomenal that I've been to. 2018 was just kind of overwhelming and was there with one of my long time Pogo friends and we saw, held the umbrella for the person who caught the first Celebi. It inspired me to want to go for the world first Jirachi the following year. 2019, besides the Jirachi was to win a free shirt. After just over an hour of the event I caught and uploaded the Jirachi(also just shared and joined in the discord), turned around and answered the question of the regional exclusive to South America: Heracross and won a shirt. The whole rest of the day was just clowning around. Now I'm looking forward to Go fest NYC and think it's my friend Randy's first in person. Hopefully it's going to be up to a decent hype.

I try to be respectful of everyone that I encounter and usually if I see kids, usually the kids want to go much farther than the parents are wanting to go. The game has gone through several seasons locally and there's a decent amount of OG players that grind like crazy and so encountering newer players who play at a slow rate is weird, but I try to play go with the flow.

44:39 Precisely this, it also helps that I’ve been into Pokémon since I was a kid which added even more of a drive to want to master the game. 30:00 this is a similar experience I had except it was for the 2022 go fest, I had just gotten out of a four month hospital stay as well as having just gotten back into the app after getting locked out in 2020 while looking for some thing to do for exercise and therapy. I had played on and off but my accident happened right before this game came out and back then the accessibility wasn’t the best so I played but I didn’t take it seriously. Now wanting to use it for therapy I started watching different KZreadrs and learning all the new aspects of the game. I wasn’t feeling the best and was still even hooked up to a wound VAC but I was starting to get depressed and told myself I might as well go, what’s the worst that can happen and I ended up meeting a group of cool people who invited me to do a raid. This was my first in person raid and it ended up with me getting a shiny Kyogre which was also my first Kyogre. That experience literally changed my whole look on life that I had at the moment, I can honestly say that I really appreciate this game for that. 🤙🏾

2020 and 2021 were the best for me. I did play briefly when the game first came out. But, my phone was so bad that i just couldn’t play it reasonably. The last 1.5 years have really gone downhill. I’ve never been a player to go out and just play for fun without there being an event. At least, not day long hardcore grinds that others do. That just isn’t fun. But even just the weekly events that used to take place in 2020-2021 were typically interesting enough for me to go out and catch a few hundred of the spawns and trade them with friends. That was fun. But even just the weekly events now are so lackluster. Remote raid nerfs really messed up the small town community that was built up. I’ve slowly been growing it back, but it isn’t as strong as it used to be. I’m just not motivated by this game anymore. When I play, I can’t help but just be disappointed and annoyed by the state of the game.

I agree with the point that you should find and build up your community instead of complaining you don't have it. I play the game in a country where the game is not even released officially, no regional prices and you must use VPN to download the game. Every single player we have found and added to our chat is our proud achievement. We host a raid hour every single Wednesday even if it is Regirock and only 3 people showed up. Just to be active and let community grow. One day we will have such a strong community which can not be ignored, we will have the game released, will have a community ambassador and stuff. So stop searching for excuses and be the person to build up your community! We have done it and you can do it too 💪

25 remote raids a day is absolutely more than you really need, even if I go out for an entire raid hour and am actively out all day I never manage more than 20 raids in a day unless its a massive event like go fest. and I think thats plenty, even 5-15 remote cards a day is tons, even someone who is intentionally going out wont really get that many raids unless they absolutely grind. yes. being negative or realistic is normal. but being negative about any event or news and keeping bringing up the same issue as an excuse just to be negative is not ok (not talking about any specific content creator. just in general). basically, the game is made to motivate people to go outside. if that is 20 mins or 20hours doesn't really matter. it's still a win. keep up the good content. have a nice one

I hate the people who always complain about negativity. I'm the total opposite, I'm all for calling out Niantic and pointing out all of the stupid stuff they always do so that hopefully some of those things will change. Even though Niantic most likely won't change a thing, I think it's still better to call them out than to act like everything is all fine. I get where Daxi is coming from, he's seen the game in a better state in the past.

Didn't you say you started playing Pokemon go in 2020? I'm pretty sure that it's two videos of you saying that, and I was like wait a minute he show his account before and it said 2016, I even stopped the video and go went back, and how you show it again, I mean there is no shame on buying Pokemon go accounts to get a head start, I done it before a few times
